Be certain to read the review by Thomas R. on 1/19/17 as I completely agree with it and I am a physician so I have some idea as what to respect in a dental office. While Dr. Gilmor appears to be competent, he is slick and when you visit him, he will tell you that you need multiple procedures that apparently your last dentist (mine was excellent but had retired) had somehow missed. Both he and his hygentist will also insist that those procedures need to be done immediately and you will need multiple follow ups. This is the sort of "medical professional" who gives the rest of us a bad name. Stay away. read more

I have relied on Dr. Gilmor and all the good folks at Glen Dental for many years now, and they have done a fantastic job every time on the cavern of decay, torture, and human suffering due to sustained neglect (I take better care now but went years in my youth without even going to the dentist) that passes for the inside of my mouth. Multiple crowns following root canals, as well as cleanings and scalings, have all been done to perfection by Dr. Gilmor and his excellent and sunny-dispositioned support staff. I require sufficient painkilling artillery to fell a hippo, and they always give me whatever I need and the procedure is completely painless. And if, God forbid, you need a recommendation to someone for a root canal, retreatment, implants, or other things, he has superb recommendations for that as well, and I've had 100% success there as well. You just can't do any better. Not only that: they are all a group of super-nice people as well, and I would heartily recommend them to anyone. We lived in Glenview for a number of years but then moved back out to Lake County and still make the long trips in to get their top-notch quality care every time. From my perspective, Gilmor can out-sell any used car salesman in Chicago with "Preventive" services. He literally will not take no for an answer. His favorite? Deep gum scrub that must be done TODAY! You say not today, and he and his well trained hygienist will work tirelessly to overcome every "no" you can offer, all with an Academy Award Winning straight face! I had my first visit today and I have to say that this is the most professional, patient- oriented and caring practice I have even been to. I was not there for more than 30 secs before the staff made me feel right at home. The staff welcomes you with smiles and a dedication to your comfort, which is something you very rarely see anymore. I then met with Dr. Cohen and the only thing I can say is that he was exceptional. The office is absolutely the pinnacle of perfection. I spent the past week traveling all over Chicago as well as the outlying Suburbs, and let me tell you one thing; even if you have to drive 3 hours in the snow, it would be the best decision you ever made. Every other practice I visited had the same solution - rip out my remaining teeth and be done with it. This practice is about what is best for you, not what is best for their profit margin. Dr. Gilmor and his staff are the best! I, like most others, don't enjoy visits to the dentists, however, the staff at Glen Dental Center make you feel right at home. The office manager Muchette always greets me with a smile and professionalism. While I waited for my time with Dr. Gilmor, the staff offered me a seat in their massage chair and a paraffin wax! I didn't even know dentist offices do that! It was amazing and definitely calmed the nerves! Dr. Gilmor was gentle, professional and really took the time to explain to me what he was doing and the status of my teeth and gums. I would highly recommend their services. read more

Can I put zero stars? These guys should be investigated for fraud. They are covered by Metlife (my insurance), yet made me pay FULL price at the time of service, stating I would be refunded when Metlife paid them. By the way, I was never given an invoice, even though I requested invoices for months. Medlife paid them in full at the contracted and negotiated arrangement. I kept requesting my refund, they kept putting me off. I finally contacted our lawyer to handle. They responded to his letter with the refund for me. For some reason, reviews keep disappearing, isn't that odd. Unless the review is on their website, and in that case there are 147 people that think they rate 5 stars. I am not sure which receptionist I spoke with as she never introduced herself over the phone, but as a fellow dental professional, I feel I was treated with disrespect and disgust. Ok, time for an update. I'm still waiting to hear back from Glen Dental regarding my request for a copy of my digital x-rays. That is not cool having to chase after x-rays that I paid for, especially if they are jacking up the price to get them. But, that obstacle has probably become common m.o. for dentists when a client is preparing to move on. In all fairness though, after reconsidering the actual work performed by Dr Eadie, he did a very good job on bonding my chipped front tooth. Cosmetically it is barely noticeable and it feels completely natural. Also, I felt very comfortable and secure with his knowledge and chairside manner. So, bottom line, if you live in that area and are looking for a decent cosmetic dentist Dr. Eadie was more than adequate. The cleaning I received, well not as high a boast, it was ok but I didn't walk away feeling my usually "wow, that feels great!" sensation. Just be prepared for coughing up the dough then and there and possibly afterward a bit. Bottom line, it's a business and all about the money so no surprise there. Recommended for cosmetic procedures. Still hate the nickel and dime mentality. read more

We are new in the neighborhood and I noticed that there was a dentist inside the Glenview State Bank while I was walking my dog. So I decided to make an appointment. My daughter and I visited this office for the first time this morning. We received a warm welcome from these two lovely ladies at the front reception, Diana and Muchette. They offered us something to drink-coffee, water and even orange juice which I have not experienced from my previous dental office. I brought my daughter for a back to school check up and cleaning. Dr. Gilmor and his assistant, Betty was very attentive and comforting to my daughter. He did his exam which she states that it was the best ever. She felt that the doctor took his time explaining and showing her first ever cavity with this special camera that he used to take an image of her teeth. She said that the assistant even gave her a pair of sunglasses so her eyes will not hurt from the bright light of exam light. After that, she went to the next room to get her teeth cleaned by Beata, the hygienist. She was very gentle especially with all the brackets and wires from her braces. She even made sure that extra Vaseline was applied on her lips since she always get chapped lips even in the summer. She is so happy to come back and visit again. I'm definitely going to be a patient as well as my 2 other sons and husband. read more

Professional, Polite and a Great dental office. My entire family have been patients of Gken Dental and Dr. Cohen for over 20 years. My children have had Braces and invisilgn and all have beautiful straight smiles now. My mom who had never had any work done on her teeth cosmetically came to Dr. Cohen in her sixties asking if he could make her beautiful, Dr. Cohen said we can fix your smile but your already beautiful. My mkm received cosmetic surgery and let me tell you her confidence went thru the roof and you couldn't stop her from smiling. It is so nice to get off work and have a massage and paraffin wax while waiting for your dentist. The staff is professional and Marsha is hilarious which calms my nerves. Dr. Cohen does amazing work, my teeth turned out wonderful. There was fraudulent billing done after my teeth were worked on which was a huge hassle and resulted in me switching dentists because of lack of trust. Dr. Gilmore didn't notify me that he didnt cover my type of insurance which resulted in much more out of pocket payment, after he did work on my daughter, which added to the reason I left this office.
