Glen did concrete for us as a part of a larger project. The work was done expertly. I highly recommend this firm!

Overall its surface was badly pockmarked, and had sunk several inches lower than the garage slab. Before contacting any contractors, I looked at the options for a replacement driveway: basic concrete, stamped concrete, pavers, or concrete with a paver border. Ultimately I decided on basic concrete, for cost and ease of maintenance reasons. I got quotes from about a half dozen contractors before deciding to go with Sennstrom. While his proposal was not the lowest, I felt that the product they were providing (e.g. 5-inch thick, reinforced, 4000 psi concrete on compacted gravel base) along with their positive customer reviews, justified the cost. Once I accepted their proposal, the actual work started about 6 weeks later. From start to finish, it went like this: - Monday: start demolition of old driveway and front walk - Tuesday: finish demolition, install wooden formwork, install gravel base - Wednesday: inspection by city engineer - Thursday: no work, rained out - Friday: pour and finish concrete - Monday: apply polymer coating to existing front stoop, remove formwork The crew size varied from 1 to 5 depending on the task that day. The day the concrete was poured involved 4 workers and Tom (the owner). I liked that Tom was very much hands-on. (You can see this in my pics). The crew worked with a quiet efficiency where everyone knew exactly what to do without the need for direction. On Friday, they poured and finished the driveway and walkway (2 truckloads of cement) in 3 hours. Watching them finish the concrete was like watching artists at work. I had a chat with Tom while he was prepping the stoop for painting. I asked him if it was hard to find good workers. He said that he preferred to hire workers with either farm experience (who have a capacity for hard work and don't mind doing it) or a military background (who are trained to take orders without complaint). A good strategy. His crew foreman, Dennis, has been with him for 35 years. The finished driveway and walk look great, the crew's workmanship and attention to detail were outstanding, and the owner is someone who truly does right by his customers. Can't get better than this.

After sending the down payment money, all those attributes changed. There was absolutely no communication between this company and myself and quite frankly I never saw Lenny again. My main contractor turned out to be a guy named Ethan. My main problem with this company was their serious lack of communication with me. They would call when they were already in route and leave little information on what to expect. I was supposed to know the ins and outs of a chimney rebuild with NO explanations from the supposed professionals. I never really had any conversations with them unless they didn't show up and I would call to find out why. My 1st impression was on the day they were supposed to start work here, after waiting 6 weeks, they requested to push the job back 2 more days. When I was not happy about that idea, Lenny said Ok they would start the next day. The next day Ethan showed up late, set up some scaffolding and then left at 10:30 never to return. Elite had successfully pushed my job back the 2 days they originally wanted in a very sneaky way, by pretending they were starting my job. I really don't appreciate a company that I have hired to act in such an unprofessional manner, thinking they pulled a fast one on their client. Nothing was ever communicated to me through the entire rebuild. Oh, but the day they finished they could knock on the door because final payment needed to be made. The invoice was in my email promptly the next morning. Previously they would maybe show up, maybe not a couple times with no explanation at all. This company felt no need to communicate with the client unless they wanted something. If I questioned something I was an annoyance to anyone associated with Elite. I was a non person with a checkbook to them. Not the kind of company I like to hire for a company with the highest quote! I could not tell you about the quality of the actual rebuild , I was relieved the stress was over. I certainly would not recommend Elite to anyone because in my opinion they are terribly unprofessional and did nothing to educate me about the process, did not like being questioned and after they received final payment reached out so they didn't get a bad review. Hopefully they treat the next paying customer a little better.
