Hired this company to do a partial chimney rebuild. In securing the job Lenny was very friendly, talkative and personable. After sending the down payment money, all those attributes changed. There was absolutely no communication between this company and myself and quite frankly I never saw Lenny again. My main contractor turned out to be a guy named Ethan. My main problem with this company was their serious lack of communication with me. They would call when they were already in route and leave little information on what to expect. I was supposed to know the ins and outs of a chimney rebuild with NO explanations from the supposed professionals. I never really had any conversations with them unless they didn't show up and I would call to find out why. My 1st impression was on the day they were supposed to start work here, after waiting 6 weeks, they requested to push the job back 2 more days. When I was not happy about that idea, Lenny said Ok they would start the next day. The next day Ethan showed up late, set up some scaffolding and then left at 10:30 never to return. Elite had successfully pushed my job back the 2 days they originally wanted in a very sneaky way, by pretending they were starting my job. I really don't appreciate a company that I have hired to act in such an unprofessional manner, thinking they pulled a fast one on their client. Nothing was ever communicated to me through the entire rebuild. Oh, but the day they finished they could knock on the door because final payment needed to be made. The invoice was in my email promptly the next morning. Previously they would maybe show up, maybe not a couple times with no explanation at all. This company felt no need to communicate with the client unless they wanted something. If I questioned something I was an annoyance to anyone associated with Elite. I was a non person with a checkbook to them. Not the kind of company I like to hire for a company with the highest quote! I could not tell you about the quality of the actual rebuild , I was relieved the stress was over. I certainly would not recommend Elite to anyone because in my opinion they are terribly unprofessional and did nothing to educate me about the process, did not like being questioned and after they received final payment reached out so they didn't get a bad review. Hopefully they treat the next paying customer a little better. read more

I contacted Elite Chimney for a Quote. I made an appointment for the inspection & quote but had to wait 2 weeks. The gentlemen that came out were very courteous, took pictures & told me what was needed & said I would get a quote within a couple of days. Called several times. The women I spoke to made it sound like a would get the quote almost immediately via email. Not, we can't help you, we're not interested, we're too busy, nothing. I've got nothing but good things to say about the crew from Elite Chimney & Masonry. They were able to schedule an estimate quickly and arrived on-time for it. While they were out for the estimate, they took more time to evaluate the work needed than any of the other contractors. Their bid was in-line with other estimates and they were able to schedule a week out which was a big plus. They highlighted other things that would be good to do but outright told us to wait on one or two things and didn't pressure us on any of it. When it came down to the work, they were fast and did a good job of cleaning up. More than that, they went above and beyond what was agreed on. Without charging me any more, they fixed a couple of small issues that were uncovered once they were on site. My rating is elevated to 5 stars based on how poor my experience was with another Chimney "service". The fact that Elite not only showed up for the appointment but on the first try was a most welcome relief! In fact, Lenny even arrived a little early for the appointment which allowed me to leave the house earlier than expected. He was very polite and patient in answering my questions (my first sweep/inspection on my first home). He worked quickly and neatly. All of the visible creosote build-up was removed. I was also given some advice on what to watch for to prolong the life of my fireplace. The price of the inspection was competitive with most other businesses I contacted. There was a little 'sticker shock' with a $75 option to reseal the top vent but I'm also cheap and do not have a basis of comparison .... :-/ Anywho, I highly recommend Elite as a company who 1) shows up! and 2) does a good job. read more

I made an investment on a foreclosed house last spring, I thought I did pretty good considering when all was said and done, there were only a few areas that required repair. The previous owner neglected both the fireplace and chimney, I'm assuming they never used it based on the condition that it was in. I however found the fireplace to be an attractive feature of the house and was definitely planning on using it come wintertime. I could see bricks beginning to bulge out of the side and I knew that needed to be corrected before creating any type of fire inside of my home. I called out two different companies (not going to name any names) and the quotes I got were more costly than I anticipated, on top of it, their representatives seemed to be lacking in the professionalism department. One particular technician was very hard to communicate with, I really did not understand the reasons behind everything he tried selling me. I felt as though he was trying to rip me off, the poor quality tattoo on his neck reinforced my feeling of distrust. I immediately questioned the integrity of their work and was not in a hurry to make any agreement. June rolled around and I was better prepared to hire a service to carry out the needed chimney repairs. After having a conversation with one of my neighbors, he suggested that I consult the same company that did some work on his brothers house. Word of mouth I feel is always the best type of recommendation. I called Elite Chimney and Leonard (who I'm assuming was the owner) came out for an estimate the next weekend. He was on time, very polite, and was even willing to show me his cost of materials. His estimate was much cheaper than the other two estimates that I had received which opened up my budget for other areas of the house that needed work. I agreed on the price of a new liner, a damper, and some extensive tuckpointing. Work was scheduled to start next week. The job was completed on time, I was shown pictures of all of the work performed (inside and out). I found this to be reassuring as I was at work during most of the days and was not able to track any of the progress myself. Leonard even tuckpointed a different area of my house at no extra charge where he noticed cracked morter joints. He told me not to worry about it since he had leftover morter anyways. Called Elite in early March 2018 to get a tuckpointing estimate. Lennie called me back ASAP and scheduled a time to come give estimate. Got the estimate in about a week, sounded reasonable for amount of work needed and I liked how responsive they were (also trusted 5 star rating received from others on yelp!!). Lennie was clear we could not do until full 24hr with no freeze. Given spring this was tough but Lennie called me back twice to ensure me they did not forget about me and would do as soon as weather permitted. Weather broke and Elite scheduled time to complete, team came on day given and did the work in half day. All was cleaned up and I was impressed at detail given to job and my chimney looks great. When given payment, Lennie mentioned he wanted to take some dollars off or run to hardware store to reimburse/replace for a old plastic hose attachment I had on my outside water connector that broke during using for the job. I was so impressed that he even told me about the stupid cheap thing. Great honesty and I really appreciated so I insisted that nothing was needed. Crew was very nice as well. As first-time homeowners, my husband and I are always looking for trusted contractors, and we have found one in Elite Chimney & Masonry. Our chimney was in terrible shape and sorely in need of replacement. We got several bids, and Elite's price tied with another company, but the tie-breaker was communication: the other company came out without my knowledge and just sent a bid. Lenny from Elite contacted us promptly, which told me that his company was motivated to do the work. Lenny and his team came out as scheduled and completed the work neatly and in a timely manner. He explained that the work would take a couple of days throughout the week, and he and his team cleaned up each day. The guys on the team - Lenny, Gino, and Lucas - were really nice and engaged with me whenever I went out to bother them. :-) On my suggestion, Lenny and Gino took a look at my fireplace inside and quoted me for some future tuckpointing, but with no pressure.
