Unfortunately for over five years I was unable to find that right dentist until. I found Eagle Valley Dental and Dr. Javan. One consequence of not having a family dentist for that long was I need a lot of dental work. I can't remember the exact number of cavities I had after that first appointment. What I do remember is an amazing dentist who walked me through several treatments, multiple fillings, an extraction, two root canals and two crowns. I'm nothing but thrilled with the quality of care and repairs that were made to my teeth by Dr. Javan. She has helped restore my faith in medicine and helped me to better understand what a great doctor is supposed to be. I now have a family dentist for life.

He also said that taking 800mg of advil was too much instead of recognizing that meant I was in significant pain ( along with 1gm of tylenol and 20mg of oxycodone) he was more concerned that my liver would go bad.( that is not gonna happen from a couple doses of advil buddy) He acted like I WANTED a root canal. On Friday at 5:15 PM, a nightmare scenario unfolded: my front crown and tooth completely fell out. I was incredibly shaken and embarrassed. The thought of facing the weekend with a gap in my smile was devastating. Thankfully, I called Dr. Weisbrod, and to my immense relief, he squeezed me in at 6:45 PM that same day. His willingness to help during an emergency like that was just incredible. Dr. Weisbrod was wonderful. My hygienist Crystal is gentle and lets me choose the flavor of my toothpaste and fluoride. We are similar in age so we like to chat about music and TV shows of the 80s/ 90s. A childhood stroll down memory lane which getting my teeth sparkly. Of course I've had other hygienists over the years and have never had a "rough" cleaning. Also many dentist's have worked in my mouth. From my childhood dentist Dr. Marvin (PD Silver Lake), to the late Dr. Kaatz (crowns and fillings), to Dr. Lutterman (crown) and currently Dr. Nguyen (crown and nightguard). I don't mind anesthetic but the vibration of the "drill" is annoying. They let me bring in my own earphones so I can listen to music while they are working. My last couple of appointments seem to fly by. And Dr. Nguyen is so kind and compassionate. And gentle when giving anesthetic...I didn't even feel it. She cares about doing quality work and made sure I was happy with the feel of my new crown/ nightguard. At my last crown visit they used a silicone suction device that kept my tongue and cheek out of the way. It also gave me something to bite on so my mouth wouldn't get tired from staying open. That was awesome! As much as I don't want dental work, I would like for that to be used again if needed. I have already recommended this clinic (and other locations of this company) to friends and family. They all seem to be satisfied with the care they receive too!

I mean, I used to go to the very first Park Dental that was in Brooklyn Center growing up and then that chain just blew up. With that blowing up(went to the Grand location), I never had the same dentist or friendly service or care that I used to receive. It was nice but it felt like a factory and when you are all up in there, I kinda want to know you. And now I do. Paul is awesome and the staff at the office are alway top-notch. I get my reminder calls and scheduling is always accommodating to what my work schedule is. You need someone in Highland, the Mendes Family Dentistry is the place to go.
