The modular addition was a great approach and Christian was a highly responsive contractor. We added nearly 1000 square feet to our house, and only had to spend a weekend at a friend's house, saving us a TON of money (if our addition would have been built onsite, we'd have had to rent an apartment for a longer stretch). We tried a number of contractors and really were met with very sketchy folks, scarce referrals, and questionable estimates - and that's if they got back to us at all. Christian called us back EVERY time, was straightforward with what costs would be, was spot-on with our estimate, and though time ran a bit longer than promised, there were hiccups in the process on our end and on theirs - and really, with any large project, you have to expect that. Throughout MCS was honest and transparent about it all, which we really appreciated. We love our addition, and MCS still checks in with us after over a year to see how things are going. In looking at the other review, I'm left wondering if they were realistic about all that goes into a big addition. With any large project, you have to have some expectation of complications If you are looking for someone who will be responsive, honest, and not disappear in the middle of a project (I've heard nightmare stories about other contractors) and really diligent in following up, MCS is all that and more. Needless to say, there were plans, revised plans, and a lot of communication with us and the town, AND the insurance adjusters (we had 4 before the repair was completed). Marcello was steady throughout. We must have gone through at least 4-5 revisions and alternative ideas to find one the insurance company would agree to (my house is a balloon structure, meaning there are no supports in the middle of the house. This required posts to support the new hip rafter, and supports for the post on every floor, so Marcello was creative). He and his crew made sure the repair was sound, safe, and when he had to put a beam through my living room to support my house, he made sure it looked absolutely beautiful (and added another to balance it), AND as though it had been part of the house since the 1800's. When I further probed, is when she finally offered some version of an apology and told me she didn't see me on schedule. Why would I want to purchase a high ticket service from a company who can't follow through on simple appointments or offer any sort of decent customer service? Abe from Lifta came out and gave an honest assessment of my garage floor fix and proposed many options and color schemes to fit my requirements. He promptly gave me a quote the next day scheduled start date on the same week. The Lifta Epoxy Flooring team arrived on time and with proper face coverings and started work on the floor. They properly prepare the floor which requires a complete sanding of the surface and repairing cracks before you can start applying layers. While his team worked he displayed real examples of all the endless textures and colors that can be applied. I took the silver base with gray swirls and metallic sparkles. The job took a total of three days (part-time) as each layer of coating (Adhesion, base, swirl, clear coat layer) needs ample time to dry and cure. In the end, the epoxy flooring looks amazing and I'm so happy with this work knowing it's also going to be a great investment into the value of my property.

In August 2017 we hired Whitestone Contracting to do a complete renovation of our kitchen and…read moremaster bathroom. Our COOP required a number of permits and insurances to do the work in the building and Rene was able to provide all of them. Upon completion of the project we experienced a problem with the construction of the bathroom floor. The tile floor was put in a full inch and a half below the toilet flange. This gross oversight that made it impossible to install a toilet. It cost me an additional $700 to bring in a plumber to repair their mishap! A year and a half later in February 2019 we began to experience a number of problems with the tiles that were installed in the bathroom. The tiles in the shower wall where the fixtures are located began sinking into the wall. There were also a number of tiles on the adjoining walls that were becoming loose. The grout in between these tiles began falling out. I was concerned that the water from the shower would get behind the tiles and we would experience mold! I contacted Rene and he came to inspect the work that was done in the shower. He had no explanation of how this could have happened. It was quite obvious though, the workers didn't use nearly enough cement to adhere the tiles to the newly constructed walls. A cost cutting short cut for sure! A date was set to make the repairs. Since I did not have any leftover tiles he asked me to procure some more tiles and he would reimburse me. I stayed home from work while they made the repairs. It was a good thing I did because I found the workers trying to reattach tiles that were chipped. I pointed this out to them and they recut them before being installed. About 7 months later we began finding a whole new batch of tiles in the bathroom coming loose. After several weeks of reaching out to Whitestone I received a number of excuses why they were unavailable to come back again to do more repairs. I remained persistent and continued to call, in order to hold them to task. We finally set a date and they were actually very helpful. They even took it upon themselves to pick up the tiles and provided all supplies. I regret not being able to be home that day from work to oversee what was going on. Even though the tiles seemed firmly affixed several of the tiles installed are chipped and uneven. At the end of the day we are stuck with a job that shows a complete lack of attention to detail and workmanship. In the days that followed I sent a number of texts and emails to try to get an explanation of the unsatisfactory work. I only received a text from Rob saying how he was sorry and would address it with his guys on Monday and that he would call me. I never received any call. In addition, I was never reimbursed for the tiles I had to pick up from the first repair. After two years of living with Whitestone's lack of professionalism I am left feeling like my only recourse would be to pursue this in small claims court. As the pictures show for the thousands of dollars we paid for our bathroom this is not an example of a professional installation. Based on my terrible experience it would behoove you to stay away from these guys.
