We've been at KB since our little one was about 5 months old and now a year and a half later, we're just as satisfied (if not more so) than on the first day. I'm consistently amazed with the quality of the teaching and cannot believe how much my little one has learned while in their care. Every day there is a new activity, song or art project to provide engagement and learning opportunities. The teachers also work with me on specific goals, watch out for specific behaviors, and are always helpful and friendly. They truly feel like an extension of our family. The location is great and the space in the building is fabulous too. The classrooms are large and bright, there are flexible and multi-purpose indoor spaces, and also plenty of space to play outside in age-appropriate and fenced in playgrounds. As a parent, not only do I appreciate that my child is welcomed, by name, every time a teacher or staff member sees them but that I am also greeted by name each and every time I enter the building. The front office staff takes a personal interest in me and my family and are always willing to listen and troubleshoot if I have any problems or questions. I highly recommend Glenview Knowledge Beginnings if you're looking for a wonderful, loving and enriching childcare environment!

The biggest issue was teacher/student ratios: I routinely dropped off my children into classrooms that had too many kids and too few teachers. In the most extreme instances, my daughter's classroom had 13 2-year-olds and one teacher. One day in the infant room, there was a single teacher watching 8 babies alone across two adjoining rooms. I raised the understaffed classrooms to the center's managers, including the area director, Sarah; they addressed it for one day before both classrooms were understaffed again, in flagrant violation of state licensing standards. A few other things: There was high teacher turnover; both of my daughter's teachers left in the few months we were there and both cited "mental health" in their decision to leave. In my son's room, one teacher disappeared, and two others were let go. Our last week, I witnessed a screaming match between two teachers in a classroom full of 3 year olds looking on. Clearly, this isn't a positive work environment. There were also facility issues, like a light fixture dangling loose from the ceiling where the kids play. (I was told the handyman only comes once a month and it wouldn't be fixed until then.) In the infant room, multiple times I came to pick up my then-4-month-old to find him lying on his back feeding himself his own bottle, with no teacher nearby, spilling milk all over his face. I never felt comfortable leaving my kids at Knowledge Beginnings and literally counted down the days until we could get off the waitlist at another daycare. When things got really bad, I ended up pulling them out and relying on family support to bridge the gap. Bottom line: This isn't a safe or positive environment for kids (or teachers), and nothing that I saw suggested that it was a temporary fluke--this is how they operate. I'm so relieved that my children are out of there and I hope this review helps someone else avoid making the mistake that I did in sending them to Knowledge Beginnings.

There is not a childcare facility in the greater Chicago area better than Creme de la Creme. After scheduling and paying deposit for the pool party and confirming we have 1 hour set up and 1 hour post party to clean up, we tried to contact the Harrer pool coordinator for room specs, table number, size, chairs and equipment availability so we know what we needed to buy or not buy..table covers wall decor and such. Nothing. Emails and phone calls not returned. Was contacted 2 days prior to party by the new coordinator only to be asked about the cake. Coordinator told my daughter, the birthday celebrant's mom, we had to be out of the room exactly at noon. We were pushed out at 1145.. why? They had their own party to go to. Will never opt for a party space that NEEDS to have a coordinator on site. Have used the field houses for parties before and will continue to use them again. OR will rent Oriole Pool party room and instead (as long as that particular "party planner" is NOT part of the deal) So terribly disappointed.

The older woman that looks to head this "open" volleyball seems to pick and choose when she would like others to take part. My friends and I have slowly started to participate in the open volleyball here, but have noticed that her attitude towards us participating is not very kind. We come from different suburbs in the Chicagoland area - not exactly close. But we're turned away because she felt that they couldn't let one more team play (even though other players told us we were welcome). Third week in a row we were given attitude while trying to take part in "open" volleyball. I would suggest MG park district try to come up with a sign up sheet or better method of signing up to partake in "open" volleyball. Because if I have to travel from far to only be told I cannot play, it should not be called "open" volleyball. We would have made other arrangements to play had we known we would be told we cannot play there. Instead we wasted 45 mins trying to arrange another court to play. Unprofessional and rude.

He's been in the class about a month now and I get pics from my nanny every week of him with a huge smile kicking the ball. It turns out he's not totally following in his big sister's footsteps who instead of participating would twirl in the middle of the soccer field. Last week I joined my little one for his class and was so impressed. The space itself is absolutely amazing. The old space was fine, but nothing in comparison to what they've built here in Northbrook Court. And the Lil Kickers class itself was great too. It's not easy to keep the attention of a group of rowdy 2 and 3 year olds, but they were all listening perfectly to Coach Dan...and I couldn't believe it was the same child who had been a terror for me all morning. A few days later we attended a birthday party with Coach PJ. My 3 year old went running towards Hi-Five screaming "Yay! It's kicker time!" and my 6 year old was also eager to check out his little brother's favorite activity. PJ worked his magic and did organized games with a large group of 2 and 3 year olds for an hour ( + my equally enthused 6 year old). I"m not sure what his secret is, but he may need to move in with me to teach me how to control my own children. They had rented a portion of the space so there were a bunch of classes going on at the same time, but the bday party was in a private enough space that it was perfect. However, I couldn't help, but already start thinking about doing a joint bday party for my own boys later this year since it's one of the few spaces that would work for a vary large group with multiple ages. My little ones will be excited when they realize our calendar the next few months is booked solid with hi-five parties. I highly recommend looking into their classes (their flag football looked really fun too!) and checking it out for your bday party needs.

The way this camp is managed is like MacGyver surviving in the wilderness. Everything is re-built…read moreby maintenance every year. NOT licensed contractors or verified companies that follow strict building regulations. The owners have done everything privately, undermining any IL regulations that stand in their way. The sicker issue is that you wouldn't have to work here to know all that. I've never been someplace as jury rigged as this. Most of the grounds were originally built by the original owner and his son along with their maintenance crew. Even the pool was built up of PVC pipes along with all the other plumbing. Id like to also mention that it's a known fact in the surrounding neighborhood community that the owner's have cut every corner possible to be as cheap as possible. Even the counselors are a blend of high school students along with undertrained adults who are supposed to take care of your kids. If that wasn't shady enough, they have their own people drive the buses too, not seasoned professional bus drivers. It's all dangerous, unsanitary, and unprofessional. Like seriously, painting over rust doesn't prevent rust either and this place is for kids. I'm sorry for any kid being told they were going to camp and got this instead, and on top of all that, to charge as much as they do to run a literal garbage heap, they could at least buy quality food for the kids. They are eating SISCO! That's prison quality food. The cheapest possible option. Once again the surrounding community knows Decoma and the family that owns it for this. That's why a vast majority of their kids that attend come from completely different neighborhoods, and for the price, your kids could attend an ACTUAL camp in IL or elsewhere and be assured their safety and well being under actual rules and regulations governed by law. You have been seriously warned.
