This rec center isn't bad. We came by for a play date with some friends in the jungle gym. There's…read moreat least a couple large rooms for activity; when we were here there was something going on in the large room right in front of the doors and then in the other room soccer practice was happening. The jungle gym is in the room further back in the building, and most of the room is taken up with a large three or four level play structure. There's a few slides on it, some ropes to climb over, a little obstacle course, and lots of fun to be had. All the kids were loving it and we spent at least an hour and a half playing around and I think they could have gone for more. There's an $8 fee per child to go to the jungle gym, as of November 2025. They take cash or a card at the front desk. Definitely ask about wrist bans, or if you need to keep your receipt... there was a sign on the jungle gym door that was pretty adamant about having one, but no one in our group of five kids had one. They may only be for busy days but better to be safe than have to convince someone you've already paid. I also noticed that for the week of Thanksgiving they're doing open play throughout the week, taking reservations to make sure you can get in. If you'd like to find an easy way to let your kiddos expend some energy, this could be a good spot. There are a few tables for parents to sit at. No shoes on the play structure, and don't forget to bring socks!

The two young men who worked at the front desk were also very helpful. There is a kitchen, private bathroom, and plenty of tables and seating. This is a great party space.

The Wilmette Community Recreation center houses 2 modern playgrounds, a preschool, tennis courts,…read morebaseball fields, state of the art gym facilities for adults and little ones, and a variety of indoor and outdoor extracurricular activities for all ages. The indoor facilities and the outdoor grounds are all very well maintained. The large playground was rebuilt last year and is one of the nicest ones in the North shore area. The small playground (which is part of the preschool) is fully fenced and has a splash pad that operates during the summer months. There is an outdoor walking path that loops around the entire Rec center and an indoor running path at the fitness center. There is also a state of the art gymnastics facility for toddlers to big kids. Overall, this is an excellent recreation center that is very well maintained and has just about everything. The only negative aspect of this center is that the playgrounds can get too crowded when all the kiddos from the preschool, summer camps, and enrichment programs all come out to play. Otherwise, very highly recommended.

Here they run a variety of activities for children as well as adults and seniors. Almost any activity you can think of including sports, fitness, dance, theater, gymnastic and art are offered here. They are always adding new things that are popular. My son just started a video game design class which is really up his alley. During holidays and throughout the year they put on special events for families to enjoy. They run a very good preschool which is one of the most affordable in the area, but make sure you book it early because it fills up fast. The quarterly book that they send to the residents is huge and nicely laid out with programs. You can register for classes with ease online or there. Not only that, but the staff are all very helpful. If there was ever a time when we were not completely satisfied or were suddenly unable to attend, we were refunded our money and never given a hard time. Anyone can sign up for the activities here, however it is just less expensive if you are a resident. What I love the most is the convenience of everything being in one location, so I'm not running all over the place. I also like how many options there are. We are always trying something new and fun. They put on the cutest theater productions and tickets are not expensive. The rec center has alot to offer so check it out for yourself!

They allow bullies to stay on the Women's Volleyball league and A-level competitive players to play against less-experienced players (B/BB, C, D-levels) in 1 co-rec league. It causes alot of court/game problems regarding positions and cohesiveness to play together safely. I was on the Winter/January 2024 VB league and experienced negative incidents from female players. As a long-standing BB/B level VB player, I bring my positive attitude in playing with teams and mates but many players don't share the same standards. I was born legally 65% deaf and my disability often confuses people since I can't engage in normal conversation, often mistakenly read as being anti-social. Everyone in leagues I play on are alerted about my hearing disability. 1/29/2024: teammate Donna (same team Spike-N-Spice, captain Brandy Valentine) cowardly pushed/jabbed my back from behind during a game. I was caught off-guard considering she and I have never had problems, but I sensed anomisity from her the beginning. No avail as to why. Recollecting myself, I ignored her cowardly aggresssiveness and continued playing with proper sportmanship. She never explained to me why she pushed me nor did I ask her and I couldn't trust her anymore. Captain Brandy chose to not act upon this assault, and I took myself off the team. I emailed Dundee Township managment providing full incident details. Tammy Greco, Superintendent of Rec, contacted me back only saying general words of "Thank you for sharing your feelings, it's been addressed." There were no resolutions given to me as to the outcome of Donna's bad behavior. This incident wasn't based on "feelings", it was based on a physical assault per videotapes. Since the township choose to not act, I don't feel safe to continue coming here, assured that behavior like this won't be allowed.
