I absolutely love Dr. Russell and his staff. I've been bringing my rabbit Coco bean to them for 2ys. He had GI stasis a month ago, and was really sick. Dr. Russell knew immediately what was wrong with him, and did everything to calm and make sure coco was comfortable. He saved my babies life, and explained everything about his illness and treatment to me thoroughly. I recently brought my sick parakeet "Blue" in. He was puffing up and on the bottom of the cage. Dr Russell was upfront with me about Blues condition, and that parakeets with these symptoms are gravely sick. He gave me antibiotics, and the next day was much better. I would recommend Dr Russell and his staff to anyone who considers their pets as family. Because that's how they treat their patients. Like they are family. read more

This is the first time on owning a pet and I have been making a few calls to a couple different vets to get prices and stuff for services, but when I called Glencroft veterinarian hospital, the young lady Savanna answered the phone very well mannered and made me a part of the vet family as soon as I started talking to her! I recently took my extremely sick dog and got X-rays and bloodwork (which the vet didn't read just sent radiologist and the lab). Cost close to $700. I had to call multiple times for results and 3 days later I got a phone call from Dr. Russell saying the specialist said a possible blockage and suggested an ultrasound. I asked about the bloodwork and he said he didn't think there was anything but he would call back when he was in the office. I had to call back in a week for her bloodwork (which was run at the hospital not at the lab so the results were done that day.). I just asked for a copy of it because I couldn't wait any longer for the doctor to call back. read more

On November 2022 I took my cat there to be de-clawed , which I'll never do again to a cat , and the procedure could not be performed because my cat's sugar was 300 . The glucose level was totally too high to perform the procedure. My cat was kept overnight until the vet bring down her sugar . The next day my cat's sugar was low enough to perform the procedure. I picked my cat the next day and there was no conversation or mention of the off the charts glucose. I did not make mention of it because I was just uneducated about high glucose. I just did not associate the reading to our glucose reading . On January 5 2024 I took my cat back to Glencroft because my had been vomiting bile for a week . I took her to Glencroft on Friday , bloodwork and X-rays were performed and she was kept overnight because she was terribly dehydrated. When I spoke to the vet on Saturday, he told me my cat was in RENAL failure. I was totally blown away , devastated. Her blood was 200 . I ask the vet why wasn't there a conversation when my cat was there in Nov 22' . He replied " I did not not she was here in 2022 with blood sugar at 300 . Why wasn't my cats history checked when I brought on Jan 5 2024 . He replied I not know . It's so unfortunate for everyone just how rude this staff can be. The doctor, on the other hand is extremely welcoming, and knowledgeable, as well as his son. The have a calm disposition, and clearly love what they do. Some of my issues with the front staff were billing related. They refused to release records to me for insurance. They snapped at me when I asked how they handle pet insurance in that office. Twice! After my third attempt, they finally faxed the sacred notes themselves. However, it was so late the claim was denied. It really comes down to how much you can endure from the front office in order to get to the back. It takes several instances of this before I will put it in a review. This is not the younger girls. The women in the front are just hostile, and rude, and ultimately why I had to leave. It's so hard to find a good vet. This is upsetting. read more

Do Not Take Your Pet to this Veterinary Hospital. I took my 3 week old kitten to this vet because I noticed that the mother was not producing enough milk, in 1 day, overnight there was a slight difference in the kitten's weight . I took my kitten to the vet so that I could get nutritional help for the kitten.They noticed that they kitten had fleas, the assistant also announced that the kitten was young, I agreed and let her know that I know that kittens can not be treated for fleas so young with medication. The doctor listened to the kitten body with a stethoscope. The assistant began crushing a pill and proceeded to put the pill in my kitchens mouth, I asked what she was giving my kitten, she proceeded to give the kitten the crushed pill while the kitten resisted. Afterwards the assistant said that it was something that was going to help the kitten, I asked again then I took a picture of what she gave to my kitten. She then said that it was flea medicine. My kitten died in less then 3 minutes after she forcibly gave my kitten the medicine. read more

Dr. Russell deserves no stars. He should be ashamed of himself they way he practices vet medicine!! I took my dog to his practice because he was very, very sick. I was told by Dr. Russell that his labs were normal and a week later he called to tell me that the dog had lymphoma. A vet of at least 30 years in practice couldn't tell that the dog was terminally ill by exam under anesthesia???? and then he proceeded to give this dog 4 vaccines (for which he did not have my permission) and the dog was dead in less than a week. He did not get back to me in the promised time. He would not prescribe my dog a steroid for comfort as he was already having trouble breathing and brushed us off and said we need to go to see an oncologist, but we could not get an appointment until August. Dr. Russell did not care about my dog at all. Everything he did was to jack up the bill. He only cares about $$$$$$$!!!! I called the emergency number 5 times because the dog was dying in front of my eyes and no one answered the phone. Dr. Russell never called to see how my dog was doing, which shows that he TRULY really does not care. Dr. Russell is a fraud!!! He is not a vet, he is a thief!!!! PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOU PET TO THIS OFFICE. I am not bitter or angry that my dog died because no one could have helped him with the advanced cancer that he had; however, i am in total bewilderment and disbelief that a trusted member of the community would actually treat kind, loving animal owners in such a poor manner. Maybe Dr. Russell would have treated me a little better had he known i work in healthcare in ONCOLOGY and see lymphoma patients all day, every day. They take good care of our little darlings. We've been bringing our dog and cat here for years. Dr. Barrett did the neutering for our kitten and it turned out great. Our dog is an old guy now, but Dr. Russell treated his hip displacement years ago so he could walk again. He's still walking fine. The staff is supportive and caring as well. Sometimes the waiting room is full of all different creatures, and the resident parrot adds to the brouhaha. It's not a toney place, but that's not what I go to the veterinarian for. read more

I work in the fundraising office of a local animal shelter. Yesterday, a female veterinarian from Glencroft called my extension. She angrily began rattling off the name and ID numbers of cat that she had seen that she said was adopted from us. After a brief pause, I asked her what exactly she was calling about. She began to insist that we adopted out a two month old kitten named Smoke and had vaccinated it far too early as they should not receive the rabies vaccine until three months. She insisted that on the paperwork we provided, the cat was born in April and vaccinated in June. She continued to raise her voice as she went on a rant about how our veterinarians on staff must be incompetent. Confusingly, a moment later, she said the kitten was not harmed because it was actually clearly older than two months. By her own admission there was no actual issue with vaccinating this kitten. When I tried finding the animal using the name (Smoke) that she provided in our database, the only cat named Smoke that I could find that we had adopted out was born in 2018. The entire interaction was bizarre and exceedingly confrontational for no apparent reason. I was unclear when she felt that the fundraising office was the place to air her alleged grievance. It was weird that she seemed to want to chew somebody out for vaccinating a cat too early, even though by her own admission it was not at all too early. She quite possibly had called the wrong organization entirely. I did not catch the name of the veterinarian, as she started the conversation angrily chastising me so quickly that it was impossible to keep up. However, I am blown away by how incredibly unprofessional and rude she was for no clear reason. She decided to call a shelter that has been taking in hundreds of stray and abused kittens and yell at us because she felt the birthday was wrong. I have not been to Glencroft Veterinary Hospital, but based on this single interaction I will never even consider it, and I will surely tell any of our clients to avoid it as well. read more

Would never return to this place ever again. I went in to get my cat neutered yesterday morning, first they told me they didn't have me on the schedule??? Then they said they would take me. They tell me it's going to be around $210 (which was fine) still thought it was pricey considering the spayed club is like $90, but whatever I PAID $150 and left. The doctor called me about his procedure and was rude. Then I walked into the vet (with no mask on just like I did in the morning and no one had one on) the doctor and the front desk woman looked at me like I had 5 heads asking me to put a mask on. Then they tell me my cat might not be ready yet (now I called and asked and they said from 5-6) so I go at 530pm to get him. THENNN they bring him out and say that I owe them $400 and that I didn't pay my shots from last visit. Which really pissed me off. I pulled up my credit card statement and let them no I paid $91 dollars back in March for my shots and how dare them try to say I just walked out without paying ???. THEN still says I owe $300 and something dollars. Then I go to tell her no I do not owe that much I paid $150 earlier. Then she goes to tell me I owe $190. The chargers that they gave me from my itemized bill is ridiculous. They charged me for clipping his nails back in MARCH (which I paid for also at that appointment) they charged me a office visit of $60 On top of the neutering charges which shows under it "hospitalization", then they charged me for a shave when all they die was shave his stomach because of the fact of needing surgery and he has long hair. I WOULD NEVER AGAIN recommend taking any animal to this so called vet, it's more of a dump and a mess. I wouldn't even give this place one star. read more

Dr.Russell claims to be an exotic vet but I brought my sick chameleon to him for care and it was blatantly obvious he didn't know what was wrong with my pet. He said my chameleon looked healthy despite being egg bound with 14 eggs and having metabolic bone disease. I brought my chameleon there 3 times and the last time I was charged $200 for X-rays plus $100 to send it out to a radiologist because Dr.Russell couldn't read the X-rays. I asked him if surgically removing the eggs was an option at this point considering she had been egg bound for 3 weeks and he stated he would like to see the X-rays first and he would have to look up how to do the surgery or call another surgeon. The day after we saw him for a follow up, where he said she should be okay till the next appointment, we found her on the floor of her cage, she couldn't walk or climb or eat. At that point we took her to another vet where she had to be put to sleep from the severity of her metabolic bone disease and the eggs in her stomach that she couldn't pass. Dr. Russell didn't take my chameleons state of health seriously and it cost my beautiful lizards life. read more

We have been going to glencroft vet for over 20 years and dr Russell and his staff are absolutely incredible. They are compassionate, understanding and professional. It's easy to schedule appointments, flexible schedule with weekend hours. And their fees are very reasonable. I would definitely recommend glencroft animal hospital to anyone. I'm writing this review because I am so happy with GVH. I've been to other vets in the area but this crew makes you and your dog feel like family. Everyone who works there seems happy to be there. They are also very good with my dog which isn't easy. There are 3 other vets between where I live (including one a block away) but I choose Glencroft because they are that good. They also have a groomer who does an outstanding job. She even caught a problem with an ear my dog had which may not have been caught at any other groomer. If you are like me and worry about your pet as if it were your kid, this is the place to go. They will make your dog feel better and you feel better read more

I brought my ferret into GlenCroft. I was charged $60 to tell me I needed a $300 x-ray to proceed forward. $300 x-ray!!! Vet didn't pick the ferret up to exam it. Just looked at it lying on table. So much for an "exam". Waste of time and money. Now I know why other Veterinary Hospitals don't do ferrets....they're not thief's. The staff was nice and just doing their jobs but the Vet isn't sharpest knife in draw. read more

My wife and I took our 12 week year old Doberman Pinscher puppy to Glencroft Veterinary Hospital. We used their services a few times and had chose Dr. Russsell to perform the operation to crop out Doberman's ears. The results were fantastic and he is a pro. Dr. Russell really knows what he is doing and is very informative. His staff is very friendly and eager to help you and your pet. Really a great environment and atmosphere, every owner we met in the waiting room had very positive things to say about this Vet! Very popular vet for Doberman Pinscher owners in the area and NJ for cropping services. We met two other Dobies and their owners while in the waiting room. The staff is very nice and they really treat your pets well. Our puppy had to spend two overnights with them and she was treated with excellent care. She was excited every time we had to return for a follow up visit. My wife and I would highly recommend considering this Glencroft Veterinary Hospital for your pet. Somebody who works at an establishment should know the prices of what is offered. I was quoted $55 over the phone for my visit, and when I checked out, I was told it was $60. Either the guy who quoted me deceived me deliberately, or he's an idiot. Either way, I'm not going back there. I, the customer should neither be obliged to cause a scene, demanding the quoted price, nor be obliged to get the quote in writing. read more

Don't go here! I recently had to take my dog here because my regular vet didn't have availability. My dog had diarrhea with blood in it (not uncommon after a couple day bout, but it's scary). The vet barely looked at my dog, didn't look in her eyes, ears; just took her temperature. He wanted her to stay for blood work and x-rays, which I allowed; in all fairness, they did present me with an estimate - $400 - which I agreed to, because what choice did I have? 4 hours later I called about my dog; they'd call me right back they said. Another hour later I called again. The receptionist - not the Dr. who was apparently gone for the day - told me that my dog probably had a rare, life-threatening and highly contagious disease and I should leave her until Monday (this was Friday). I said no way. They said I should at least have her stay until Saturday and they'd run the test to see if she had this disease. I said I wasn't comfortable with this. The Receptionist said she'd call the Dr. and get right back to me. Again never heard back and 45 minutes later I went in and got my dog back, along with a $445 charge on my credit card. I took her to my old vet, who IV hydrated her and gave her a prescription. Within 3 days she was completely back to normal. Don't go here! read more
