I dealt with Heather, the leasing agent through numerous emails and texts. She dealt with my endless annoying questions like a champ. Always friendly and professional. I was completely put at ease with the entire rental process. And the apartment at The Windsor? FLAWLESS! 5 stars for Heather B., the downtown leasing agent for Glendale Development. My experience here was awful. I felt unfairly targeted by both certain tenants and management, specifically Maria Congi (corporate) & Melissa Samuels (Property Manager at the Windsor). Instead of handling issues professionally, management seemed more interested in believing baseless complaints than treating residents fairly. Calling this place "dog friendly" is false advertising. Pets may be allowed, but responsible dog owners certainly aren't made to feel welcome. On top of that, the property is poorly maintained and not worth the rent. Broken glass & Trash everywhere, furniture discarded in the basement, grounds are poorly maintained & snow removal is abysmal. I would never recommend living at the Windsor or any of Glendale's properties. There are far better places & more professional property management companies that actually value their residents. read more

This is in relation to the "Muir Lake Luxury Apartments" that Glendale owned/managed at the time we lived there (and may still). Our apartment felt like luxury, until shortly after moving in our ceiling had a major leak from the unit above. The original person who worked there (who left shortly after) was extremely nice and said we would get concessions back (you can see her referencing that in part of her email attached here too) like you would expect when we had to stay in a hotel due to the damage and use our new towels to soak up the yellow water...but we never received a penny back once one of the owners, Josh Mchale, got involved and it suddenly felt like (in our opinion) that there was no concern over what happened or the health of my wife and I (who was pregnant throughout our time there). Our main area ceiling was left open for almost a month, until we stopped paying rent until they would make any progress (then got taken to court for that) and then we were left in drywall dust everywhere at least one of the times (we had several instances of ceiling damage from the units above). To us and friends, there also seemed to be a terrible smell at the entrance of our unit even before these incidents, then after the drywall was left on our floor we could see moisture between the cracks (see attached image) which seemed like something wet was under it and maybe causing the smell, yet that was denied and the floor never taken up. Also, it felt like gas smells and the gas company were there a lot and even after we left they still were emailing us with those notices to their current tenants, so that felt unsafe. After all that, we have still never received any security deposit back - their attorney claimed it was sent to the apartment AFTER they knew we had turned over the keys (see attached letter from their attorney) and still over a year later we have yet to get a response to get that check at all (no response from our attorney's demand letter at the time or my email a few weeks ago). We are having another attorney reach out for the security deposit now, but at this point I don't expect to ever get anything back...just be warned this is somehow possible. As crazy as it would be, I wouldn't be shocked if they somehow threaten us again due to this review, like taking us to court before, but if we do receive anything like that my wife will immediately post that too. read more

Both unprofessional and immature. My roommate and I were interested in an apartment and the leasing agent had said that she was going to look out for the application we sent in the whole weekend because we had to get moved in as soon as possible. She then tells us, after we tell her that we had sent in the application, that in order for her to even process the application, we have to go out and get money orders for the security deposit and make them out to the apartment complex. We do that, and then she starts ignoring and not returning calls until finally, we manage to reach her coworker and she tells us that Shirley has actually RENTED out the apartment to someone else already. Ridiculous. That was why she refused to answer any calls or respond to any emails, and she also never apologized for the inconvenience caused. read more

I mostly like living in the Ashland apartments. I like my immediate neighbors. The apartment itself is functional and attractive. The surrounding grounds are hazardous to life. Today I picked up half a trash bag 1/3 full of dog feces, 1/3 shoes covered in dog feces, and the last third full of glass from a broken window and cigarette butts. This is not just annoying - dog feces can spread disease. I regularly hear people outside the windows having meltdowns because of what they're stepping in. It stresses me out. I have called Glendale about this. It's continued to build up. Oh and my sink won't drain so I just bail it out with a bucket and flush it down the toilet, no help with that either. This place allows dogs. It should not. Not this for $950 a month. read more

I have been here for two years and here is a list of things wrong with this apartment. -Rats! -dumping -storing stuff in hallway (fire hazard) -structural integrity of building is completely compromised -smells like cigarettes all the time because THE MAINTENANCE MAN WHO WORKS FOR Glendale smokes in his apartment above from -very poor job of shoveling salting and plowing etc. - my bathtub don't get me started I'll add photos -something that looks like black mold on the ceiling of my shower - all of the all's are peeling and dripping when the temperature changes a couple degrees - the lease is very contradictory seeing as it says to report this stuff and when I went to report just the one thing the bathtub it took three weeks and my 60 year old father to drive over to 2040 military road and yell at them, that is finally when I received a call from the manager Maria Congi saying it needed to be sprayed and they needed my approval. They lied and told my father they never got my approval when they did three weeks earlier. My tub is supposed to be getting fixed and sprayed hopefully soon. I've lived in my apartment since Jan 21st 2023 and since then, my basement has flooded 4X causing thousands in damage. insted of Glendale even pretending to care, they've since started a "laughable" eviction process against me.. at this point my lawyer told me to be as public as possible regarding this matter with the soul intent someone who reads this review will not have to go there the same issues I am still facing today. read more

All of their complexes either have rodents or cockroaches and most apartments hallways smell. They budget cut but jack up the rent on people over $200 a year. Prices are outrageous too and cut corners. Apartments are not done for move in like they are told. read more

Actually they deserve NO stars! I lived there 3 1/2 years; I moved out early before the lease expired because I got to move in to a brand new complex connected w/ Belmont Housing. The property manager was very nice, but their method of operation was ridiculous. Maintenance had or were supplied w/ cell phones BUT were not required to call tenants when they'd be coming to fix things. (Like I had to jump when they appeared-HAH!) The laundry machines were second hand & most likely were on their "last legs". Last, but not least, each apartment did NOT have it's own water line, so when I'd take a shower, I'd get hit w/ either totally hot or cold water because someone else would run theirs. I guess the owners figured that once they snagged a tenant, they had them for a whole year "at their mercy"; so to speak. Shameful! They even went so far as to use COVID as an excuse why they were shorthanded w/ maintenance workers; when there was plenty for them to do w/out coming in contact w/ tenants. read more

Zero stars for this company. For starters, I am making this review for my friend. I've found that this company is the most unprofessional, neglectful and downright lewd company I have ever heard of. I have advised my friend to take this company to court expeditiously. Could you live in a unit with roaches for several months? This really happened to my friend. No compensation. All of that aside, why would a property management company charge rent for a bug infested unit? Oh and not to mention that my friend who by the way, is a nice lady, has holes in her bathroom. Whoever they had drill holes in my friend's ceiling has refused to patch it up and paint causing my friend to use a bathroom that looks like a war zone. This management company is disgusting. DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!!!! I currently live here, and my issues started before I even moved in. They said I HAD to pay a security deposit to 'secure the place' (as it was not currently listed) and that once I did they would create a lease. After giving them $800, they tried to make me homeless during a pandemic. They had both in writing and verbal communication the day I needed to move in by (it was agreed upon two entire months in advance) and then truly tried to tell me the place would not be ready for me. After many screaming matches, I was still stupid enough to move into this place, and when I did the apartment was very dirty. Fast forward to now, I've been here six months. They have an online portal for maintenance requests, which they ignore ENTIRELY. They have ignored everything from a broken dryer to a malfunctioning smoke alarm. But, the largest and most recent problem I have had.....is bats. Yup. There have been bats quite literally living in my apartment and despite multiple calls to their emergency line, countless messages, etc......I seriously had to legally threaten them to take care of the issue. I now have possibly thousands of dollars of damages due to all the items I have to throw away, as well as now missing three days of work to be here for maintenance (I have to babysit them since I have caught them entering my apartment with no mask). All in all, it will be a miracle if I make it out of this lease without contracting a major illness. These are seriously the worst people on the planet. Do not live here. read more

I used to think this was a great place to live. Our apartment is roomy and the area is safe (Chestnut Ridge Rd in Amherst). Never had problems with maintenance or leasing office until this year (been here almost 4 years). One of our bathroom's ceiling was leaking in June of this year. It took multiple calls, emails, and service requests to get them to start fixing it (one month later!). All that was left was for them to finish mudding the ceiling. It's now OCTOBER and they're just now finishing it. We were told in September we would get a refund on rent since we haven't been able to use that bathroom's shower since June (luckily we have another!). When trying to follow up on the status of the refund, they NEVER return our calls or emails. They also charged us for renters insurance one month although we already uploaded proof of insurance per their request. I had inquired about the renters charge, surprise, no response! I get a text from Glendale a few days ago.... they say we owe $13 in rent! They can't be bothered to respond to us yet they're going to send us a notice for THIRTEEN dollars. We've been frustrated since the start of this issue and every day we're growing angrier. Terrible service! We are tenants who have always paid on time and never had any issues but apparently they goes unappreciated here. Oh and all the lights in the main hallway are out except one. I had also mentioned that to them and that is not fixed either. Not even a simple light bulb change. read more

i would give them zero stars if that was an option. This company fucking sucks!! The management is terrible. nothing But money hungry for their cheap and nasty complexes. i had a leak under my sink for a whole year and was told nothing was wrong with it. No patio door, no kitchen window, no working dishwasher which they told me they would fix, mold all in the bathroom, no working air conditioning, no access to a private storage like I was told I'd have..so tell me what exactly I'm paying rent for ?? I contacted them numerous times for repairs but not a single response from anybody!!! You know what's sad...when even their Own employees tell you to write a nasty review because this company is terrible to work for, and doesn't care about their tennants.
