Well they TOTALLY stuffed things up tonight - sad really - but what was really poor was the lack of resolution
Over the many years that this establishment has existed (and it is many), I have visited quite a number of times without anything critical to mention - (even had a great calzone there once) but you are only as good as the last meal you provide and that, even when poor, can be partially rectified by some sort of apology or compensation - neither tonight was forthcoming,
I dined with my wife and son and ordered a pizza with the lot - as you do. A glass of red for both myself and my wife and a milkshake for my son - all good so far.
The place is getting busier by this time and we are located on a corner table by the window and that's not so bad - the table is wobbly but with some manipulation I manage to keep is a little more stable than when we arrived.
The pizza arrived, piping hot, OK that's fine...and the first few slices are distributed to our plates - ( here is where we should have taken more notice ) - the topping is plentiful BUT quite "runny" can't describe it any other way, but thinking it is because there is lots of topping, I put it down to that. The outer crust is firm with a fluffy inside BUT the base from there to the centre is soft and very thin.
It is not until after a few slices each that we notice that the base is not well cooked - it's hard but at the same time is far too pliable and now we notice that is is quite doughy (but still very thin) quite odd, you can't pick this thing up, really - the flavour is not overly great either. There are now a few slices left and decide to point it out - in hindsight should have done this earlier BUT I suppose I just thought it was poor - The waitress suggests that we should have sent it back (yes probably) BUT this would have in my opinion resulted in a burnt outer and a still thin centre that was already very hard on the base underside.
I believe there was too much sauce, base was too thin, the oven temp may have been affected somehow allowing the appearance of cooked outside but and threw the whole meal wrong - should not happen if they were on the ball (the pizza was $30)
She says " I'll let the boss know right now" as we head to the counter to pay.
This is the worst part - I can see that she has pointed us out to the boss - BUT nothing, nada, squat, stuff all - NO APOLOGY, NO COMPENSATION - god even a coffee MAY have helped - $50 PAID IN FULL
POOR - sorry , won't be back read more
