It was a little awkward. My request to change beneficiaries seemed easy enough however I didn't know that each State Farm office dealt only with local policyholders. For example my policy was created and signed in Charlottesville Virginia where I grew up. So this location in Warrenton couldn't change anything on my policy. I would either have to go to Charlottesville to do that in person or they could fax and email documents print sign and send back. The lady I was sitting with who told me all of this was really nice. She even called the Charlottesville location and spoke to them helping me fix what I needed. Everything seemed to work out well enough but I think it's crazy each office handles local customers only and can't make changes themselves for "out of town" customers.
