It all started when momma got a little sick…read more My husband and I decided we we were going to buy a bigger house in Alpine to care for our parents. We went to get coffee at Adesso's in Alpine like we always do. Drove around and found the house we loved two years ago. It was for sale again! We called Patti McKelvey at that very moment and asked her if we could see it again. We put an offer the next day and things got crazy!!! Patti put our house up for sale and that same day got an offer. Patti then put my parents house for sale and also got an offer the same day. We were in three escrows! Mom then was diagnosed with pancreatic and liver cancer on August 9. They gave her about 7 months... I was literally going crazy to say the least. Trying to tend to our momma, take care of her legal paperwork, and manage three escrows was a bit overwhelming. Then momma went into hospice first week of October. She didn't want to die at home. Patti again helped us put momma in a beautiful facility in Bonita View Hospice. The nurses that work there are truly angels. Everything they did was with respect and in a loving manner. We were blessed, and so grateful for allowing mom to die the way she wanted, and with dignity. One escrow is done, 2nd and 3rd will be done on October 26th and we will all move to Alpine. Momma is dearly missed. She was looking forward to living there with us. But I know she would be happy seeing us all together. Did I mention the house has a guest house and studio? Well, my siblings will be moving with us so they can help with our step-father. We need each other because we haven't had time to grieve.
