In all three cases, Dr. Nguyen was an excellent doctor who really took the time to understand the issue, research what to do, and help me understand the treatment, followup, etc. He is very personable and caring. My appointment last month was for a minor surgery which, while fairly routine, still made me a bit nervous. But he was very reassuring the whole time which made the surgery as tolerable as it could be. And his treatments worked in all three cases, so at least for me, he was effective.

I told him that this lady at a nail salon offered to laser my mole for me for $200. Originally, last year, Dr. Nguyen had assessed my mole (on the right side of my nose (had it since birth), and had given me a price tag of $250 and an educational conversation that went into the details of what he would do and how he would do it. So when I reapproached him this time, ready for my mole removal, he laughed at the thought of lasering the mole. "moles have roots", he said. I was on the table, he was talking to me about his 3 daughters, I had been locally anesthetized and I was asking him if I could see an illustration of a mole and its roots. I had some image in my mind of like in middle school when they show you the architecture of a zit, anyway, I'm just laying there and he holds up my extracted mole in the blaring medical lamp! I felt so comfortable with Dr. Nguyen with my minor surgery. He stitched me up and I was on my way. Later, I brought my boyfriend in for some skin tag removal, that went well also. I will say, don't let the office exterior intimidate you. In my experience, this is completely normal in the Falls Church area. :)

Out of 15, there were only a couple and even though Dr Brittany Smirnov didn't have reviews, I saw her smiley profile picture & clean/small office setting, and decided to give her a chance! I am happy I did. The girls at the front are very nice and welcoming, and the wait was only 30 minutes (half of that was spent doing the new patient paperwork). The PA did a thorough job once I was in the room asking what my concerns/needs were for the Dr. Which I thought was nice that I didn't have to tell the receptionist upon booking, since these things are kind of sensitive to talk about to a random person. Dr Brittany came into the room with a big smile. I felt very at ease talking to her and did not feel insecure discussing my dermatology needs and getting half naked to show her LOL. I even told her I picked her because of her smiling face and we both agreed how YELP is so helpful in finding different services. I'd recommend anyone to go see her! And I feel comfort knowing my next appointment will be as good as this one was!

She doesn't know whether cancer runs in my family, heart disease, diabetes, asthma, etc.... She had no desire to ask any questions. Her first words were "what are your major complaints." I actually didn't have any complaints, but our family doctor retired at the beginning of the year and we needed to find a new doctor and an elderly neighbor recommended her. My husband has already canceled his upcoming appointment with her and I will NOT be returning. For a doctor to not even ask for any medical history a first appointment is absurd. Her manner was very brusque, rude and I left feeling humiliated by her due to a medical condition I have. Her exact words about my condition were " What's up with that? It's ugly." And for some reason, she seemed to think that an unusual symptom I now have is from a medicine I've been on for 17 years. NO. She also didn't seem to know much about a condition I suffered from in the past two years. Well I don't know what country you're from, but that is not how a doctor behaves. I'm also leaving this review on my health insurance website because they ask insured folks to rate the doctors. You can guarantee I put everything and more on my insurance website. Please, don't go to this witch.
