The community atmosphere here is one of my favorite parts. There's always something going on, and it's a great way to meet people and actually feel connected to where you live. The amenities are a huge bonus--clean gym, study spaces, and the clubhouse is perfect for hanging out or getting work done. My apartment has been comfortable and well-maintained, and any maintenance requests I've had were handled quickly and professionally. If you're looking for a place that's more than just an apartment--somewhere with a community feel, great staff, and awesome amenities--Summit Place is definitely worth checking out. Avoid these apartments! My daughter has been there almost 1 year. At move in there was issue with…read moremold around the windows and in the appliances. They replaced the washer. During this time there has been 3 major water leaks from above. Repair has been shoddy and mold is an issue. They promised rental credits, yet none have been forthcoming. Also I have been trying to contact them for over a week to discuss these issues. Both by phone and email. No replies. It may look nice on the surface but thats all a facade. Stay away!

It has a floor for honors students that's quiet, and the rest are still semi-quiet, and you're less than a 10 minute walk to school. They have private parking, too. I lived here my sophomore and junior years of college. My first year, I had a problem with a suitemate, and the management handled it promptly. Other than that, I had a problem-free two years. The WP, as we called it, was clean, safe, and fun.

Our HVAC would go out for days on end living here, and the management team would not call the necessary professionals to fix it until days later. Beyond being an incredibly noisy location, we felt very unsafe living here. Not only did the glass entry doors break constantly, but we had instances where men from the street would take pictures of us in our residence. Along with this, since the HVAC went out so often, we had severe mold issues and a mysterious fruit fly infestation that would never go away. We moved out a month early and left everything but the AC off in the apartment, and we just received a $165 bill for electricity. We were not present or using any electricity at all, and this is beyond the icing on the cake. Upon moving into my new apartment, my severe congestion and insomnia cleared up, and I believe we were actually getting sick from the mold. Daughter moved back to her furnished apartment after summer vacation to find it utterly trashed by…read moresummer occupant and her dog. Since July, contacted maintenance via the web portal, multiple phone calls, visited office personnel in person multiple times - all promised everything will be taken care of. Nope. Not. One. Thing. It is now September and they have allowed new roommates to move into this flophouse. Today there is water under the floor covering and comes out of the joints when walked on. Maintenance says they may be able to get to it after the holiday. There are 4 people living in this place and each paying more than $1500/month. The place is filled with flies (see pics) because of trash piled up in the hallways outside the apartment. I understand bad roommates, but why let people move into an apartment into this condition? They are paying for a furnished apartment and are unable to use the furnishings. I visited from the West Coast and cleaned the dump myself, dog urine, rotten food in the refrigerator, cleaned the oven and the absolute disaster of a sink. Those things I can write off to a bad roommate, but the furniture, the baseboards, the water under the floors and the flies - that's all Skygarden. It's been since July 6. This is Sept 1. Ownership needs to pay a visit and spend some time with the residents and the staff and figure out what they are doing wrong because it's a long list. Or better yet, DHEC needs to pay the place a visit.
