Amazing selection of period jewelry, hats and SHOES! Prices are very reasonable. If you can't find it here, it doesn't exist. Think 50's, 60's, and mod 70's. Glenna's is the most FANTASTIC shop. I first found an outfit for me and my boyfriend Stuart for a 70's party. Then I went back and found an Isaac Mizrahi coat (when he was a REAL designer), and the most amazing leopard hat that always gets me compliments. Glenna's has very high quality items. Glenna is an absolute doll. Helpful and attentive. I have decided to live a life long dream of dressing vintage all the time at the grand old age of 51, and this store has everything you could need. Clothing obviously, hats, jewellery, shoes and coats. I was so spoiled for choice. As I was there at the end of the business day I only had time to concentrate on the plethora of hats on hand. I walked out with four beauties in pristine condition. Although the store is well over an hour away from me, I will be back soon to find some marvelous clothing to work with these divine hats. Glenna's is the Grande Dame of vintage in Tacoma. Definitely a destination shop - I would make a point to visit here before I moved to T Town. Glenna's has probably been in business for over 20 years...and that means something when you're a purveyor of vintage clothing. This is a large, well stocked, quality vintage boutique with items ranging from the 20's to the 80's. It leans towards a more tailored, dressed up, formal wear look than casual. The shop is beautifully merchandised and there are quite a few accessories and handbags. As you can probably see from the photos, the clothing is somewhat arranged by colour scheme. Glenna and her employees are very friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable...make sure to stop if you're visiting the area...antique row especially! Prices are commiserate with the level of quality and care this collection exhibits. Prices aren't so high that you'll be afraid of the tag, or feel you're in a museum...just don't expect Buffalo Exchange or Red Light prices! read more

As usual... "Yeah. What Jay S. said." It seems like every cool place I wander into around Tacoma Jay S. has already been there and written a detailed, superb critique of the experience. For example, I'd LIKE to say how Glenna's boutique is arranged by colo(u)r in beautiful blobs of hue, like an Impressionist's daydream, but Jay S. beat me to it. I'd LIKE to say how the rich fabrics, thick wool, embroidered silks, heavly sequined sweaters, must have been worn by elegant women in the 1950s or 60s but Jay S. covers that, also. I would also have said that these sumptuous clothes, once the playground of the nameless rich, are now affordable to discerning women but that too was swiped from me. This is all just to say that I adore JayS, even though I have never met (them?), and that I think I'll come back to Glennas boutique for my wife's birthday. Both are outstanding. read more

I love this store! I have been to this store twice now. The first time was just an eye opener for me. I loved seeing all these 1920s/1950s dresses in little groups by color. Near the window on the right when you first walk in there are lingerie and garters between lace [and again, color organized] lingerie, babydoll, and lace slips. I love love loved it as a girl who goes head over heels for anything with lace and ruffles. On the right hand corner there is also a wall lined with hats. Each of different eras, with the most expensive/rare on the highest shelf. I spent 45 minutes just looking in the store with my friend and even got my hips, waist, and bust measured by Glenna. I was not prepared to buy anything that day however. The next trip I had I knew exactly what type of clothing I wanted. I went to the babydoll/lace lingerie section and found the cutest 1950s pastel pink nightgown that is off shoulder and has lace accents on both the collar and right under the bust. I looked for a tag and found out from Glenna she had just put it on the rack. After handing it to her and looking through the store for about 5 minutes, she priced it at 30! For the fabric, the style, and the age, she definitely gave me a deal; compared to the others like this one, some were tagged at 48-100 dollars. The one I liked the most was actually the cheapest! I bought it and I cannot be happier with my first babydoll nightgown purchase. That being said, there are a few cons to this store. It can get pricey. Expect 100 to be the low end of the vintage dresses she has. 15 for the panties. up 180 for a garter with 60 being the low end. and lingerie slips to range from 50-100. I'm not much of a hat person but the ones I saw were cute. I don't remember prices though. Hope you find your own little treasure! read more

I drop in almost every time I come to visit my Dad and always I spend about three paychecks in my head within 3 minutes of walking in. This place looks is a jewelry candy shop with one of the most beautiful glass and colored rhinestone necklaces, broaches, and clip on earring collections I've seen. I was in Glenna's yesterday and the amount of clothing is really astounding. She was very helpful as well. Cons: way overpriced. I saw a pair of ferragamo shoes for $45, I see ferragamo shoes at goodwill all the time for 6 bucks. Ferragamo shoes from the 80s and thereabouts are nothing special. There were Sequin jackets for $50. I have also seen those at goodwill for $10-15. If you choose to buy, be aware you're paying way too much. read more

I have vintage shopped all over the world but nothing can compare to Glenna's! I have been to the way we wore in LA and decades of fashion in San Francisco. And they are fine but nothing compares to this. It has the most beautiful and most unique stuff. The owner is so kind. She even has outfits made to show you how to dress in vintage. She pulls magazine pictures and pairs it with vintage outfits or shoes to show you how the new borrowed from the old. If you do anything go to this store and talk a step into another time. My daughter and I visited Glenna's Clothing in search of a 1920's dress and accessories. We left empty handed. The customer service, from Glenna herself, was atrocious! Her behavior that she exhibited to my daughter and myself was extremely demeaning and RUDE! She suggested to us that Target and Michaels would be more in our price range.
