These guys at Glitchbusters are the best! I was told by a friend to try them out because I was having issues with my surface pro and honestly I will never take a computer anywhere else now. They were extremely kind and did a great job. My surface hasn't been running this good since I first got it. It fixed a bunch of issues that I didn't even know was happening to it, like my battery life. They even had it up and running faster than they quoted me which was also really nice because I use my surface every day for work. Honestly, if I could give more stars I would. I took my computer running on Windows 7 into GlitchBusters because it became very slow from a malware attack, also there was boot up problems which I caused by myself from trying to fix it myself. I was helped by the Manager and after carefully explaining my situation and what was happening -he told me I had a bad hard drive that needed to be replaced for over $200!!! I insisted that it was working perfect before the attack and I just wanted to do a clean install of the operating system. He kept telling me it was the hard drive. He then told me to call him in 3 days -Monday and we would decide the game plan to fix it. He also gave me his personal number and said to text me him if I had any questions, any at all. As he requested I called him Monday, -no answer. I called him again the next day -no answer. I texted him multiple times over the next few days and still not response and no updates. I was frustrated after being ignored for 7 days and nothing was done. I felt like the only way they would do anything was if I agreed to replacing the hard drive and paying over $200. I visited their store to just take back my unfixed computer and met the Owner who happened to be there. I told him I just wanted my computer back even though nothing was fixed. He looked up my name and saw in his system all the logs of the calls and texts. He felt I was improperly treated and did what I initially requested, a clean install of the operating system and even upgraded me to Windows 10. I was extremely delighted to hear him say that he was doing this for no charge because of the circumstance. Because I felt the Manager was trying to hard ball me into paying $200, I would give GlitchBusters 0 stars if possible because a person with less computer knowledge would have given up $200. But considering the Owner made things right for no charge with a clean install of Windows 10... I give 2 1/2 stars but I'll round up to 3. *Update* Unfortunately, "The most advanced tools available" have mislead you. You see, after the windows 10 update (which by the way for anyone reading, IS still currently available free from the Microsoft website with absolutely no licensing costs) I was able to access my files and then simply uninstalled 4 recent programs I suspected to be problematic. Immediately, I restarted my computer and BAM it's fully functioning and running at full throttle like Usain Bolt on Cocaine. I repeatedly told you guys from both the beginning and after the "diagnosis" that this was simply a software issue. NOT a hardware problem. Look, I know you like pressuring people over private messages and urge people to take down genuine reviews from REAL situations by guilt tripping them and then publicly bending the story in your own interest. But Sir, I will not be one of your puppets. I appreciate you guys finally doing what I initially asked for, which DID in fact fix all problems. This is why even after all the affliction caused by your company manager. I generously gave you 3 stars which now because of your tactics has now been rounded down to 2. We went to GlitchBusters for help with data recovery. They were extremely nice and assured us they would do their best to help us with an extremely stressful situation. It took a couple days longer than they said it would, but they were able to recover almost everything! It saved us a great deal of money too! We had contacted a big data recovery company that had quoted us between $700-2700. GlitchBusters recovered the data for much less and we couldn't be more grateful. We met two different employees during our experience and both were very professional, caring, and friendly. We don't know very much about computer issues so we relied heavily on their expertise. This review may offer a unique perspective. I am a professional computer engineer, having earned my Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering in 1981 from Iowa State University. So, I know a thing or two about computers. The competence level of this shop is highly questionable. Getting into details would make this review far too lengthy. Their so called diagnostic ($50) was unrevealing. Basically, they wanted $350 to install a new hard drive (these cost about $50). I've done this on other machines, and it takes about 10 minutes. This sets their labor rate at roughly 6X$300 = $1800 per hour. There were less expensive repair options that they would not discuss. Clearly, this shop is gouging people who simply want their machines to work, and who do not have the knowledge base to keep Glitch Busters honest. read more
