As a walk in, I waited about 15 minutes at the front desk just to get an answer on whether they could fit me in. It felt like there should have been a quicker way to determine availability. I was also surprised by the $2 sanitation fee. It's not the amount that bothers me it's the principle. Maintaining clean, sanitized tools and equipment should be a standard part of doing business, not an extra charge passed on to customers. To me, that's simply part of the service I'm already paying for. The quality of the pedicure was great, but the wait and additional fee left me with mixed feelings about the experience. From my experiences at other salons, I am used to being asked my preference on shape and if I want them cut shorter, but that had not happened. After they filed my nails down, they told me to pay before the polish. Looking back, I assume this was because I was getting regular nail polish and not gel. This gave me an opportunity to look at my nail shape and realize I did not like it. While paying the tech, I asked if it would be possible to make my nails more almond shaped, or at least rounded more so they all looked even. The technician filed them more, and they look more round than the original, but was still a result I was not going into the salon for. The tips of some of my nails feel very brittle, I'm not sure if this was due to filing or just the regular nail polish. It is a nice, large salon with lots of chairs and big TVs mounted on the wall. They had many color options to choose from as well.
