Terrible communication skills. The owner got me an appointment at 2:15 but failed to tell me that she had another appointment at 2:20. However, she had proceeded to tell me that she had time to be able to do my hair today before my event. Her failure to communicate properly and along with the matter of her other customer who was a teenager, being extremely rude to me, shows me that her salon is filled with toxic people.AVOID this salon at all cost. The absolute most amazing service, professionalism and care possible. Since Covid, so many salons or estheticians and hairdressers have gone out of business. But this fabulous hairdresser is going strong, which is a great testament to her skills and sweet nature. I do have very complicated color...I do highlights, lowlights and cuts and my color is hard to get right. Some people are wiz kids at cut but color is more challenging...it's not an exact science. Lots of things have to be taken in to account to get it right...skin health, oily, dry, medications or pregnancy, even the weather. Gloria knows all this and she cares enough to ask. She is consistently fantastic and cares enough to remember her client's preferences and needs. I.e. if you said last time you want to go lighter or darker for the season (fall/summer)...SHE REMEMBERS!! Her cuts are beautiful and she is so nice too. I cannot recommend her more highly. SPECIAL NOTE: she is very busy!!! Her regulars know to book their next service at the same time they pay for the current one!! (I book 4-6 weeks in advance to get the time and date I want. I've been getting my hair done by Gloria for almost 5 years now. She's fantastic! When I first started seeing her my hair was platinum blonde and completely ruined. Despite walking by Glo countless times, I'd never actually been in until this past weekend. My mom is a big fan of getting blowouts just because, and after my experience here, I can definitely understand why! It's an awesome feeling to switch up your hair without the commitment of dying/cutting it. I called Glo the afternoon before and made my appointment for the next morning. That morning, I was sent a courtesy text 2 hours before my appointment to remind me, which was much appreciated. My appointment was with Leianna (hope I spelled her name right!). I asked her for voluminous, beachy waves and she delivered flawlessly. I can't remember the last time my hair looked as good as it did. The hairspray she used also didn't harden my hair, which was really nice. It still looked/felt soft. I had not planned what I would do with my hair or make-up, the ladies at Glo made magic happen. I arrived to Glo Dry and I didn't wait more than 5 minutes before I was getting my hair washed by the hairstylist. She asked me how I would style my hair for the evening and I explained to her I wanted soft curls and my hair down. When she finished my hair looked exactly how I wanted it. I came here for a hair cut and blow out yesterday with Heather. She did an amazing job. She really listened to how I wanted my layers cut, as I can be very meticulous with it, and she did a wonderful job. Some hair stylists think they know best and while they may, I prefer hairstylists who actually care about what style makes you happy. Heather listened to my concerns and used her artistic talent to flow with it. Heather is very knowledgeable about hair products as well. I used to come here a lot for blow outs and I can honestly say I've never had a bad experience. The hair stylists always listen to what style you want and do a great job of mimicking your request. They are really polite and friendly. Also, they offer you tea or coffee, which is really nice. After trying out the hair cut, I am really impressed and will for sure be returning here. read more

I have been here twice and I am totally converted! It is conveniently located next to DASH, across from the Commons. The first time I went I made an appointment in advance for a blow out. Angelica was awesome, she gave me bouncy, full curls--perfect for a night out! They held for a really long time and everyone kept complimenting me on my hair :) The second time I went was after I went to my normal salon. My usual gal did a great job on the color but I was not pleased with the cut. On a whim, I dropped by GLO to see if anyone could cut my hair. I was happy to find Angelica available immediately! She marched me straight to the wash station and before I knew it my hair was perfect. Shiny, glowing, and healthy looking again! She really knew a lot about how to make my thin, damaged hair look great. She will be my usual gal from now on!!! She was so sweet and very fun to talk to. It's nice to have someone around your age (20s) to chat with when getting your hair done. Prices were AMAZING. $35 for a blow out and $75 for an awesome cut. I came here this morning to get my hair blown out. It's been a while since getting my hair hair treated. Katrina did my hair and did an AMAZINGLY job. It's a cute little salon right across the street from the commons, tucked into a little shopping plaza. When you walk in, the friendly receptionist great you and have your stylist come up right away. When you're seated, they bring you a mimosa, which is a first for me (salon wise). After getting my hair washed and conditioned, Katrina started styling my hair. You can tell she's been doing this for a while and truly enjoys her job, which in turn makes the client enjoy their experience. When I'm back in the area visiting my family, I will certainly be back. When my stylist moved from local (to me) Venice to CALABASAS, I thought my days of pretty hair were over. After all, that's over 20 miles away, and, this is LA. One thing I've forgotten since moving here is that for most people in the US, 20 miles really isn't *that* far. Well, turns out that with a little planning, it's very manageable. Freeway close, it only took me 1/2 hour to get there, which is just as long as it takes me to get to Hollywood most days. And Calabasas is a lovely suburb, with lots of green stuff, like trees and grass and broad streets. And a lovely hair salon that goes by the name "Glo". My hair is thick, coarse, kinky, curly hair, which I hate. I've recently been introduced to the process of the Brazilian Blowout, which I love. Rebecca is the best - patient and diligent. She is a hardworking stylist that loves what she does, and she does wonders with my hair. I always come away feeling special and well taken care of. The salon itself is a comfortable place, with calming lights and relaxing decor. It doesn't make you feel like you're on display (or going into surgery), like a lot of places do, but it does have all the amenities (including a wicked cool blow-out bar) that you would expect in a much larger place. I came at 9 am on a Monday morning, so it certainly wasn't their busiest time, but I got to meet the proprietor, Gloria, and two other stylists, and they each seemed very approachable and encouraging. I figure, if a place makes Rebecca happy, then it's okay by me! There's plenty of parking, a lot of establishments nearby (banks, post office, shops, food!), so you could really make a day of it. And, if you're like me and indulge in guilty pleasures, the Kardashian store is right nearby, so there's a pretty good possibility of celeb-sightings. The one star off is just because of the distance; if I lived nearby, this would be a bi-weekly stop for me. They have customer-appreciation functions, and they have some great deals (check out their website/blog!) that make it economical as well. read more

I went in before work. .it was so nice not to have to do my hair this morning and now my hair looked great all day and will be ready for the weekend. I had my hair done by the owner Gloria. She was awesome. She actually have me a consultation first about how I like to do my hair. It's so nice when some one really listens to you instead of some places that just go to work without even talking very much to you. I felt like she really understood what I wanted and my challenges. My hair is a bit damaged from bleaching it so much and she really gave it some tlc. She did a special treatment on it at the shampoo bowl. Then I got a great blowdry and style. I love that she told me what products she was putting on my hair and why. I'm the end I walked out looking and feeling like a rock star, not to mention my hair feels so soft and healthy. Great service, I bought the Yelp deal to try this place for the first time and I was very pleased. I have been back several times since and have my December appointments lined up! I have been going to Gena and my hair has turned out great each time. My appointments always start on time and I am out of there in a reasonable amount of time. I love that I can book online and manage my appointments that way. Their new check-in system promises to accumulate blow outs for a discount on the 6th one, that is very exciting for me as I am addicted to getting my hair blow out! Their pricing is consistent with all the other blow-out salons in the area and I just purchased a series for the month of December which is basically like getting one for free!
