I had an extremely poor experience with Watson Immigration Law before the consultation even took…read moreplace. I contacted the firm for a paid consultation about a technical, time-sensitive F-1/SEVIS immigration issue. Because the issue involved detailed legal scenarios, I made clear before paying that I needed a reliable way to preserve the advice accurately. I first asked about a transcript. The firm said they could not provide one. I then asked whether I could record the Zoom consultation myself solely for personal note-taking. They refused. I then asked about a written summary. At that point, I was told in writing that, "for this one time," the attorney would be able to share the transcript of the call. Based on that representation, I paid the $280 consultation fee. After I paid, the attorney reversed/corrected that statement and said they would not provide the full transcript after all, only a summary. When I tried to clarify whether the summary would be specific and useful enough to address the actual questions I had raised, the firm did not agree to that condition. Instead, they cancelled/refunded the consultation. This was a deeply frustrating and unprofessional intake process. For a client dealing with a high-stakes immigration-planning issue, the difference between a transcript and a vague summary is not minor. It directly affects whether the consultation is usable. I should not have been told one thing before payment and another thing after payment. They offered a refund. But offering a refund does not erase the wasted time, confusion, and poor handling of a technical consultation request. In my view, this firm's intake process was disorganized, rigid, and not client-centered. I would not recommend Watson Immigration Law to anyone.
