Nice pediatrics location and NYU-affiliated. Recently, we have been bringing our son to Global Pediatrics because we love the care that one of the doctors provides for him. As for the location itself, it is a decent size and has plenty of space in the waiting area --- very important during the COVID-19 pandemic. The patient rooms can be a little tight, especially when there are 2 parents allowed into the room. The staff is relatively friendly and informative as well. The only issue with the location might be ... well, it's location. It is located in Manhattan, which is notorious for the lack of parking at times. However, every time we have visited, we have been fortunate to find a pay parking spot right in front of the office, across the street or on the next block over. Other than this little blip, the office is fantastic and is a great place for parents to bring their kids for doctor visits. read more

I took a whim when selecting this location after giving birth, figured it's not too far from me and in a nice neighborhood so why not? I cannot express how glad I am that I ended up here!!! Dr. Palmo is the doctor I have been searching for but never knew existed!!! When I say he seems too good to be true but isn't!! From my son's first visit and every other following, we have had such a pleasant experience. He takes his time, talks directly to your child and you can tell he loves what he does. He is so good with my baby!!! Isn't phased at all when he throws a little fit and also takes the time to explain everything to me in great detail. I wish he were my doctor!!! Dr. Palmo is the best pediatrician there is. I would not go to anyone else. He is caring and very knowledgeable. Most importantly he cares not only about the kids but also about the parents. We are so happy with Global Pediatrics! Our son has been seeing Dr. Palmo since he was about 3 months old. He is now 2.5yrs. Our daughter also started seeing Dr. Palmo since she was born. He is incredibly nice and clearly cares about his patients and families. He and the staff are responsive to questions that come up, including after hours. Getting and scheduling appointments is so easy with the NYU Health app and he always has plenty of availability and options including within 1-2 days for sick visits with usual winter viruses. They can run some lab tests in house like COVID/flu/strep which makes things easier too. We have recommended Global Pediatrics to everyone looking for a new pediatrician! read more

If you are new patient's looking for advice, I highly recommend you look somewhere else for pediatric services. We have coped with bad services for a while and finally decided to find a new pediatrician. We strongly recommend existing patients ask for a preauthorization form for every single vaccine they recommend your children to take, even for routine, annual checkups and health care forms. We went for an annual checkup and ended-up with $600 out of pocket bill for a vaccine Dr. Wegman recommended. We spent 10 months going back and forth with the billing department and the clinic to dispute the charge, receiving mixed messages the entire time (of course). While we thought we obtained the write-off approval, we actually got collection calls instead, as they overturned the decision without informing us. Their argument was that you signed the "check-in" form, which is an agreement for everything! Who will go to an annual checkup expecting to pay $600? We rarely leave reviews, but considering this frustrating ordeal, we hope this review will help you make an informed decision. read more

So let me tell you about Global Pediatrics. This practice was creating for the doctors that work here. We're living in their world and we should be thankful that they even treat us. They work on their schedules (including working half days that is not convenient); they don't work on weekends; they do not accept walk-ins for sick kids (apparently you need to schedule when your kid will be sick); they charge insurance ridiculous amount for a basic wellness visit (like $650 each time) and if you have not met your deductible - expect to pay out of pocket; and they won't give you your child's medical records without a fight / obstacles. Yes the doctors that work here are smart people and they are nice enough, but this is not about them. This is about the practice as a whole, and how it's inadequate to serve the needs of hard-working parents trying to juggle it all and make ends meet. They do not cater to you. They cater to themselves and if you can work around that - then you can have the privilege of being treated at this practice. Well, this parent is leaving this practice because if I'm paying you $650 for a 10 min wellness visit - then you should be working very hard for ME!!! read more

It's been 15 days since I left my first tried scheduling a meet and greet with a doctor (any doctor). I have since called three times, left two messages with a manager Lashanda - and still no return call, no appointment, no explanation, nothing. The person I spoke to says that probably my message was relayed to the manager and probably the manager then relayed it to the doctor and is probably just waiting on a response... Or not. Not sure. Or the office is just so chaotic, the customer service so dysfunctional and the doctor so over-worked OR uncaring that I am just not getting a response back. The way I see things, if it takes this long to even get a confirmation for an appointment or a call back now then it will take this long when I have first-time parent questions, my child needs an appointment or I have an emergency and need a call back. Patterns of behavior don't change. There is clearly a fault in their communication channels or a lack of will to help. I have now made two successful appointments elsewhere where they actually took my call and either called me back with times or just booked on the spot. Wow, who knew it could be that easy! read more

My twin boys have been here with Dr. Ficacelli for 17 months now. Since she is moving from Global, we decided to move out too. We have been trying to get their medical records for almost 2 months now and after rudeness and incompetent office workers we have achieved nothing! We are leaving because not only the office management is disorganized, but rude. Booking or changing an appointment over the phone was always a hassle. I need the medical records of my kids to be given to me in order to have a smooth transition, but still have had no luck! read more

As any new mom knows when you first have a baby you have LOTS of questions! So in my search for a pediatrician, during my interviews one of the questions I asked is, "Is there a problem if I have lots of questions" and the response I got from the pediatrician at Global was, that's not a problem. Of course you're going to have questions, you've never done this before. SO, I was VERY surprised when I was out of town and got REALLY sick one night and called in to see if it was ok to continue breastfeeding despite my vomiting (and emmiting of other fluids if you know what I mean:(. The dr on call ( cant remember his name but it sounds like lavender) responded to me sooo RUDELY raising his voice saying, " You called me at midnight for that!" I paused because I couldn't believe that he was so rude! Mind you, at that moment I was sitting on the floor of a hotel bathroom having just vomited several times, with my baby crying in the background. It turns out my husband and I both got a virus that left us VERY sick for 48 hours which is hard enough with a very young baby, let alone calling in for what we think will be a support system and getting treated like were idiots and spoken to SO abrasively. I then told him he didn't have to be such a prick about it. I'm very sick and just want to make sure my baby was going to be ok if I breastfed her and if he had such a problem answering my question, he shouldn't be the on call dr. since he didn't know how to be sensitive. When I got back into town and went in for my daughters appointment I discussed this with my pediatrician at the time ( a much older woman who touts 30+ years experience and claims to be so patient and welcome any and all questions...). I let her know about my horrible experience with the on call dr. to which she responded, "Well we don't use that kind of language here." NOW YOU AND YOUR TEAM WANT TO BE SENSITIVE!? How about when a new mom calls in sicker than sick and nervous about how she can care for her child while traveling...? How about then?? No need for sensitivity then? Hmmmmmm... Honestly: I was beyond annoyed with her obviously being ok with me being treated rudely and adding insult to injury with her comment. I'm almost forty years old and I know worse words than prick that I could have easily used, so he's lucky. Solution: She could have shown understanding with my frustration considering there is a dr on their staff that obviously has NO bedside manner. They also could have had someone else on call if this particular dr. does not know how to be kind to nervous parents that call in, which is obviously the case. During that appointment I asked for all of my daughters paperwork and let her know I was leaving Global. I have since switched to Park Ave Pediatrics and am very happy with my pediatrician and the team there who has NO PROBLEM if I have a question on how to best care for my beautiful growing baby girl! I recommend this practice if you want competent attentive dr.'s and nurses to assist you when you really need it. read more

Ok, the front desk girls can be very unpleasing to deal with them. Specially the African American young woman... she is rude! Except for that the place is great. Dr. Pasquariello is the BEST. Almost impossible to reach them by phone, they put you on hold 30+ mins, pass the call around, put you in to voice mail. Basically whatever you are calling the office for will not get taken care of over the phone. The nurses take days to call you back or they never call you back. I have had to physically go to the office to conduct business related to my child's health care. They will torture you over filling out school and camp health forms. They will torture you over getting prescriptions filled. Every interactions is guaranteed to be hassle and leave you with a bad feeling. The front desk staff is some of the rudest I have encountered in NYC ever. The doctor is adequate but don't expect much thinking or a tailored approach to your child's health. read more

Dr. Goldstein is absolutely wonderful. She saw my 12 yer old daughter for a first time appt and spent an hour and a half+ getting to know her etc. We were in one week later for what turned out to be the "real" flu- which Dr. G did in-house bloodworm to determine and gave us total tlc- and her time. She reminds me of the way all doctors used to be. So far, I am extremely impressed with her knowledge of things and her connections to hard to reach specialists. We've been going to Global Pediatrics for the past 2 years with our now almost 3 year old. Dr. Goldstein is our pediatrician. The facility is clean and cheerful. Anytime I've called with questions, someone has returned my call promptly. Dr. Goldstein is patient and has a calming presence. Terrible and incompetent office! In addition to holding on the phone for over 20 minutes to make an appointment the failed to tell us that our son needed a wellness visit to complete camp form that they had for two weeks! Despite having seen him they refused to fill it out bc they need to "bill" for a wellness visit. They have ruined our weekend trying to find another provide to fill this out and now our son cannot attend camp that we paid for. read more

Was interested in Global Pediatrics for my baby girl, who is due in February. Called the office two months ago and they scheduled me for a consult this evening with all of the doctors. Thought that was great! Went all the way uptown 7 months pregnant this evening for the meeting and was told that nothing was on the calendar and there was no doctor that could meet with us. If they couldn't call to reschedule or even put something on the calendar in the first place that they themselves suggested and scheduled, I wouldn't trust them with my child's health! Will definitely look elsewhere for a pediatrician. read more

Really great practice. Licata is our doctor, he is great with the kids, takes his time and is patient with all the questions and concerns we have. Palmo also saw my daughter when Licata was away, and we really liked him too. We are far more satisfied here than with our last pediatricians. Licata has called me personally after-hours on a few occasions when my infant son was having issues. You get the sense that he truly cares and this is not just a job to him. I am shocked that Global doesn't have a gazillion 5-star reviews. From my first interactions with their team before my son was born, to their visits while I was in the hospital, and to this day (he's 8 months) - I cannot say enough great things. I am a nervous new mama and they have been AMAZING with questions, including when my darling baby got a cold over Thanksgiving - I still got a call back from the on-call doctor within about a minute on a national holiday! Dr. Riese is outstanding and takes time to answer all of my questions - she's a gem. They're all great though. Even the billing folks were nice when I wanted to make sure our account was current. Two stars to just express the good interaction i had with the provider. The front desk was unwelcoming if all together looked bothered by my presence alone. The nurse came to grab us while the clerk reviewed our insurance info-all of which was already in their chart...the nurse says come to room 2 when ur done...really? Ive never had to walk myself to an exam room before? I wouldve just left except i had already hauled the kids to this visit; might as well get it over with. At the end i went back to the front desk where i asked for sticker and was ignored, asked if there was anything i needed to which i got do u want your after visit summary. I said no thanks...anndddd the reply is do you need something? Yes i need to know if i can go or if there is a deductible or if i have a copay...a simple thanks for your visit wouldve been enough for me to know i could just go...simply the worse experience ive had in an office before....i thought visiting an NYU office would be different...absolutely disappointed. I hope you for the sake of every other parent they are retrained or changed....so sad read more

We have been with Global Pediatrics since 2010 when my first child was born. Through 6 years and two children, Dr. Palmo Pasquariello has nurtured not only my children, but me as a mother. We turn to him for medical answers and guidance, compassion and support. I breastfed, created my own vaccination schedule, and he was supportive and listened to my concerns. He offers his expertise, but is also more than willing to take my worries into consideration. He spends time with us and knows my children and loves them for their unique personalities. Instead of dreading going to the doctor, my children can't wait to see their friend Dr. Palmo. I have never met a more gifted and kind Doctor - he truly has a photographic memory and is amazingly thorough. I recommend him to all of my friends, some of which have left their practices to come to him. I feel incredibly lucky to have found him. Beyond just Dr. Palmo, I have to praise the administrative staff and nurses. If only all doctors offices operated with the same level of courteousness that Global does. Whenever I call to make an appointment, I am greeted with respect and professionalism. If there's an emergency, they always do their best to squeeze me in. They greet my children by their first names, remember details about their lives, and make us feel welcome and a part of a family practice, which is so often missing in NYC. I only wish that I could go them as an adult!!! Truly I cannot recommend Global enough. Dr. Bruce Brovender is the most sensible, level-headed pediatrician anyone could ask for. The practice is always nice, but remember, it's a doctor's office, not a luxury hotel. Sometimes you have to wait (though not long). Sometimes people are busy and cannot cater to your every whim. There are sick kids, and it's up to them to decide who needs attention when and for how long. But we've LOVED Global Pediatrics, and do so much that we're willing to schlep across town to keep Dr. Brovender. read more

I took my daughter here ONCE after we relocated from Atlanta. I provided them with a full copy of my daughter's medical records from birth. I was 30 min EARLY for the appointment but was kept in the waiting area (full of sick children and germs) with my then 2-year-old daughter. I was there something like 3 hours, perhaps longer. I kept going to the desk to ask how much longer. When I was finally shown to a room and saw Dr. Goldstein, I asked whether the wait was always so long. She said she was on schedule. I told her what time my appointment had been scheduled for and, without even checking with her staff, she rudely snapped at me that if I had arrived on time I would have been taken on time. I advised her I arrived 30 min. EARLY and she said that was not possible. I told her I wanted my daughter's record back, that I was leaving. I actually had to PAY them to copy the record I had just given them. Will not recommend to anyone and never went back. The worst!!! read more

I wasn't that impressed with Global Pediatrics. I had just moved to the city and took my baby for her checkup and didn't have the best experience. I had originally chosen to go there and see Dr. Goldstein because I had read some good reviews about her. First, we went into the office and the receptionists were busy and just brushed us off. Then once we went in to see the actual Dr., there was just no connection. I didn't really feel that she listened to our concerns or related to us on what we wanted to achieve for our baby. It was almost very demeaning. We were just brushed off, issues weren't heard, and I really didn't feel that she took the time to get to know my baby as a patient. The recommendations were standard cookie cutter recommendations. She told me that she would refer me to someone who would come and baby proof my house, and I just looked at her... I am pretty confident that I can baby proof my own house with a little bit of guidance. Then they had to prick the baby three times for blood because the first time they didn't get enough and the second time, the test was messed up. When I look for a doctor, I look for someone who understands my concerns, can connect with me on my child's health, someone I can trust and someone that really looks out for our best interests. Dr. Licata is the dream pediatrician you hope for when you have a child. When my son was 1 week old he detected a heart murmur (he had a hole in his heart that closed and he's fine now). I remember panicking one night and calling the office with a sick child - Dr. Licata called me back right away almost midnight. He had me put the phone next to my 3 month old son in the crib on speaker and he listened for a few minutes. Any issue he has referred us to the best specialists who are just like he is - caring, excellent health care providers and great with children. I could not recommend him enough - they don't make doctors like Dr. Licata anymore! read more

My son sees Dr. Wegmen and we have had a great experience. Dr. Wegmen spends a lot of time with my son during the visits and answers all of our (many) questions. I have called in between appointments for questions several times and have always gotten quick and helpful responses from the nurse line or the on-call doctor. We see Dr. Judith Goldstein at Global Pediatrics and can't recommend the practice and Dr. Goldstein enough. She always answers our MANY questions and takes extra time with us if we are concerned about just about anything. Our kids absolutely love "Dr. Judy" and the nurses and staff overall are just super. If you are looking for a pediatrician for your little one, Dr. Goldstein at Global Pediatrics is the way to go. read more

Dr. Palmo Pasquariello is our son's pediatrician and we absolutely love him. He is caring with our son and has been very diligent in figuring out issues that were not very straightforward and that other doctors missed. Not only did he not miss it, he was able to figure out the odd pieces and was even able to direct us to alternative sources when traditional medicine did not help him. We could not be in better hands. We travel over an hour to see him and we would not have it any other way. When we came to the practice, we were in our previous pediatrician's office so frequently we knew everyone extremely well. Under Dr. P's care, our son got better and better. In the last few years we are hardly there except for annual physicals and the occasional flu. We've been to see Dr. Licata also and he was terrific as well. read more

Our daughter is 7yrs old and we have been searching for a pediatrician for the past few years due to a change in health insurance. We FINALLY found our new pediatrician!! Dr. Palmo Pasquariello is AMAZING!! We went for our well visit today and I didn't realize how thorough a well visit should be! the staff is great, attentive and friendly. I have been taking my daughter to Global since she's a toddler. She's now 17. The doctors are great and we never had any problems with their competency or bed side manner. I will say this, however: if you hate waiting hours to get out of a doctor's office, then this is not the place for you! We'll sit in the waiting room for an hour or more past our appointment and then be put in an examining room to sit and wait another hour or so for the doctor to come in. Every time we're there I get frustrated and say we're not coming back. But we do, because I guess it's too much of a hassle to start somewhere else. I'm just happy my daughter will soon be outgrowing this practice and moving on. read more

I have also been going here since I was a small child, I am now 21, and have been misdiagnosed, and rejected over-the-phone prescriptions for excruciating conditions too many times to count. I was given a false negative for Hepatitis C after having revealed to my doctor that I was sleeping for 18 hours at a time. Amanda Ficaselli wrote it off as 'hay fever' and when she was on her way out of the room, I pleaded that I be texted for HIV and Hep. She complied, and whadaya know. A fatal liver disease...Just seemed to slip under the radar. Whoops! Not only that, but my liver was so severely scarred that the specialist demanded I be treated immediately with Harvoni. BUT that's only one instance. Apparently, I also had Hepatitis B at one point a number of years ago because I am now immune to it, but I was never given a vaccine. How mysterious. When I visited Global Pediatrics on THAT occasion, they said it was 'food poisoning'. Wrong again. Just another form of Hepatitis, no big deal. Oh and my favourite. When I was suffering from a severely painful urinary tract infection, I called in, hoping they could prescribe me antibiotics over the phone, but no. They said they were afraid they'd 'misdiagnose'. Soo I had to call my gyn, who immediately recognised the situation for what it was, prescribed me, and within a few days, I was all cleared up. And tonight, the last and final straw. I have pink eye. My eye is swollen, itchy and pussing. So I phone the on-call and after two hours of waiting for a return phone call, (AFTER they'd asked for my local pharmacy's number, thus implying I would be taken care of), they say, "it could be a sinus infection, you have to come in tomorrow so we can diagnose you". I explained several times that I am a working college student who needs to make rent and tuition, yet- they said if I wanted to be seen, I would have to take off work in order to satisfy their availability. Well. What that says to me is NOT that they are genuinely interested in promoting good health or comfort, but that they are more interested in covering their asses in case somebody decides to sue. How very thoughtful. One final fun fact! When I was ten years old, Dr. Licata laughed at my vagina during a physical, funny huh? Laughing at a pre-pubescent child's genitalia is most certainly a valid reason to sue, no? But, because we had been seeing them for so long, my mum figured we would just switch to a female doctor. Wrong decision, needless to say. Because for all the years following, they failed to provide the medical care that I've needed. I'm fed up, and I hope to god that you all find real doctors for your kids. If it were up to these people, I would still be suffering from a chronic liver disease, a UTI, and pink eye.
