You will find the occasional puppy accident but that isn't the store's fault and they clean it up when they find it. The do have an area outside with poop bags and whatnot which is nice. They are pretty well stocked but don't have the selection of larger PetSmart stores. The Staff The staff here are awesome! The groomers, trainers and floor staff have all been great with us. The groomers have always taken great care of our dogs and we have never had an issue in the salon. As for training, we took one of our dogs their and it was a really good experience. There trainers are very knowledgeable and happy to help you out. The Selection There is a good selection of pet supplies here. They have isles of food and toys and treats. They can be a bit pricey but if you get stuff when it goes on sale you can get a good deal. Having a Pet Perks card helps with this as well. For the live animals they have a small selection of reptiles, birds, fish and rodents for sale. We have gotten several animals from here and have never had any health problems come up. They do have reptile feeders for a good price here but I find they don't last as long as the ones from reptile shops.

The store is close to home and has an easy location to get in and out. Their pet selection is pretty good and they've got a nice spread of gardening supplies as well. There's even a friendly dog who roams the place on occasion, looking for a pat on the head and a "good boy." He's my favorite employee. Not that there's anything wrong with the rest of them most of the time. Most of the time, things are "okay." Not great, not awful; okay. The line moves fast enough. They have what I need. The person who checks me out at the cash register asks the standard questions. The problem is, I have something to compare this to. Before buying our pet food from Clyde's, I used to get it from a place in Tonawanda where the people were over the top friendly and inquisitive. I get it; Clyde's can be super busy with a lot of people coming through. They don't focus on dog food and have a variety of customers with differing needs. I don't expect them to remember my name like Treats Unleashed always did. Also at the previous place, they kept my credit card on file, which made it so much easier when trying to handle three ten-pound buckets of frozen raw dog food. Not having to pull my credit card out made it a ton easier. (I also get that it's probably a lot safer for me for them to NOT store my credit card on file.) They offered to carry it out for me because while I am pretty strong, it's super awkward to carry three of these thin-handled buckets to my car when I've got arms the length of a baby T-Rex. For some dog food brands, customers get a discount. I don't know what those brands are or what the parameters are (tenth bag free? fifth bag free? $5 off two bags? No idea!). I do not get a discount for the food I buy and when I inquired about it, I was stared at like I had a third eye and told, "We don't do that." Treats Unleashed offered a discount for this brand and I don't know if it was a store policy or a brand policy, but I thought it was a fair question. Our first visit to Clyde's when we moved to Hamburg was super-positive. Everyone was really friendly and knowledgeable. We got a lot of help from one of the employees when picking out a probiotic for our dog. I do see that same worker there from time to time, but she is usually not on the cash register when I am there. I have seen a few newer workers (or people I hadn't ever run into before) on my last few visits, so maybe that has something to do with the less-friendly experiences. I overheard one worker tell a customer, "Please don't leave your things on the counter and walk away. We have grocery carts if you need them." Okay, that was helpful information, but there are nicer ways to say that and the tone was not friendly. Like I said, though, they have what we need and there's never been a reason to NOT go, but I definitely see room for a little improvement.

They didn't mind me coming in every once in a while to look at the ferrets and ask questions before I got Minka. My turtle just recently passed away and I'm hoping to purchase one from here. When you step in, you're likely to be greeted by a shop dog (the golden retriever girl is an absolute delight - loves to be pet and is the calmest pup you will ever meet). The staff I've spoken with here are always so friendly, so obviously pet owners when you have a conversation with them. There's a great amount of passion in their pets, and the products they provide at this shop! All of the treats and food here are so obviously carefully selected - the brands they have here are free of all those preservatives and by-products that your average dog treat brand has - and the best part is, they're all fairly inexpensive! I've brought home a couple of different kinds of treats from here, and my dog absolutely loves them. I found out she goes crazy for lamb and was recommended these small hard cookie treats, and she'd probably eat the whole bag if she could. They've also got some really cute apparel and accessories here! My dog is a bit too big for a lot of their outfits, which seemed to just be for tinier dogs anyway. But they've also got some really nice collars with different unique patterns on them, and leashes! Let's not forget the dog toys too - they've got an assortment of enrichment toys, eco-friendly, pull ropes - you name it. SoI try to explain I'm very experienced here - I'm retired but used to be very big in the reptile industry and bred thousands of my own fruit flies - and said I'm sorry but you're wrong. flightless HYdei HAVE wings and are genetically predisposed to not flying. It's a GENE. I told her yours are tainted with regular flying fruit Flies. Her answer - I'm not going to argue with you, you can just give them back. Then she repeats the same answer of why I have "some" flying around. They're ALL flying. I explained the gas would be more to drive there and return them, that I was now more concerned over the bad info she was pushing considering. She repeated the same untrue info on flightless fruit fly genetics. ?? Then she kept adding I'm not going to argue. My only concern for posting this is - what else do these workers push as qualified knowledgeable info to customers that is completely wrong?? It's a simple product and issue but her info on this is incorrect. I ran a hot professional breeding facility for 18 years. I breed fruit flies like crazy.
