It was a crease textured grey satchel, very stylish. Boston offers an eclectic mix of men's casual and formal wear ranging including suits, ties cufflinks, leather shoes to Sneakers, T shirts and Jeans. I really liked some of the t shirts particularly the Botteva (a brand with which I am unfamiliar) shirt in the window featuring a dark reddish apple and the work "temptation", but unfortunately $69 is more than I wanted to spend on a shirt today. The shop has an interesting set up too, rather than having the typical cash register counter, they have an Italian leather lounge at the entrance of the shop with a computer sitting on leather- lined chest. I probably shouldn't have bought the bag, but I like it.

WIth your hip primary colors, as well as the more reserved basic denim blues, J Brand are worth the money.They will give you an arse lift as quickly as you can say Kim Kardashian. Some other brands at Come As You Are include True Religion, American Vintage, Rock and Republic, Old Molly, Velvet and Masons. I wasn't planning on buying any clothing when I arrived to Bondi Beach ready to do the Coastal Walk, but I came woefully unprepared weather-wise. Blame it on my being in Hawaii for too long and thinking I wouldn't need to be wrapped up to spend a day at the beach. It was incredibly windy that day; great weather to go for a coastal walk, but I knew I'd freeze my arse off in my short-sleeved tee. I had to buy a sweater. I looked around at the numerous clothing stores lining Campbell Parade, and decided that Between the Flags offered the best quality shirts and sweatshirts. If I had to buy a sweatshirt, I wanted to buy one that was stylish and durable enough that I could wear it again on my next trip to a cooler weather destination. I found Between the Flag clothing to be soft and comfortable, something that you would love to wear on a cold day and feel warm and snuggly. The sales associate was helpful and friendly. She told me a bit about the clothing available and gave me time to browse the store. I chose a few items to try on in the dressing rooms. I decided on a grey sweatshirt that had Bondi Beach written in gold on the front. My sweatshirt kept me appropriately warm during my walk along the coast which was particularly cold and windy for a Spring day in Sydney. It also rained later that day so I had no regrets buying that sweatshirt. Some drawbacks are that Between the Flags apparel is pricey and that it has limited sizes. There are other stores that sell cheaper sweatshirts, but I did not think they looked or felt as good as Between the Flags. I am petite and curvy and managed to find some things that fit me. The largest sized piece of clothing goes up to around a US size 12. I recommend Between the Flags if you happen to find yourself in my predicament and need additional clothing before spending the day at the beach or going on the Coastal Walk. It is also a nice place to shop if you are looking for a Bondi Beach shirt as a souvenir that is of high quality and will last a long time. I still have my sweatshirt and hope to get good use out of it for years to come.

Also a white lace minidress with lovely bell sleeves that was by a local fashion designer...and yes, these all came home with me. Shout-out to Natalie and Hazel who were both extremely friendly, welcoming, and helpful. One big gripe that may sound silly but it's a legit issue: they pack WAY too many items onto each rack. They are so tightly packed together that you honestly can't slide them apart to see a garment. I mean there is truly not even a tiny gap between the hangers; the hooks are hard-pressed together on the clothing rack bar. I've never seen this many garments shoved so tightly, even at a down-market thrift store. It made it so difficult to browse that I ended up skipping past big swaths of racks that I really wanted to look at but simply could not access. It was bizarre and extremely off-putting, which is a shame.. If I could have actually SEEN the clothes properly this place would get a full 5 stars. Dear shop owner: if you absolutely must put out this many items, just buy longer racks. There's space in your store to put in more racks, especially upstairs. You will sell MORE clothes when people can actually browse through them. Stop buying hangers and start buying racks!

Where as shops like St Vincent De Pauls, or Vinnies, as it is known, stock large amounts of everything, clothes thrown onto racks and boxes and boxes yet to be unpacked waiting patiently out the back. U-Turns is more sparing with the clothes that it sells. It's as though the clothes must first pass a series of tests before they are displayed in the shop and sold to the masses. Are they stylish? All the clothes available on the U-Turn Recycled Clothing racks are very hip and very apt, some faux fur formal wear for your first foray into furry fashion. Bold and brash cowboy boots with buckles and buffed leather finishes. A hat made of a mink that makes you think about the stink it would have caused to hunt said mink and taylor him into a hat. The prices reflect the classier appeal and display of the clothing and, while cheaper than most first hand clothing, is a little pricier than the shops next door. You could find, mixed amongst the trash and bland clothing in most thrift shops, a piece of treasure that would look so bold in your wardrobe, but to find that you would have to be lucky. Likewise it would be quite unlucky to find some trash in all the treasure at U-Turn.

Try as I might to beeline past Kisu, however, I found myself lured inside by the patterns and colors, like a mosquito to a nudist colony. Admittedly, I grow tired of seeing the same exact stuff in all the shops around the city. We all know there is no shortage of flowy mono-colored blouses or faux fur jackets. It is much more rare to find a shop that has unique inventory. Kisu, though it might not suit everyone, is certainly unique. Eccentric patchwork and embroidered garments are the norm here, and the owner designs mostly everything. There is a strong Asian influence, with some frocks that resemble kimonos. I tried on an electric green dress with an A-line hem and a sequin toucan on one side. I found it to drape strangely on me, which made me wonder if focus might be more on design than on fit. However, with most prices reduced about 50%, you can probably afford to go out on a limb and nab that statement piece that will truly have people talking.

As I approached KISU a dark blue coat was in the doorway. The color was stunning but more than that was the execution. This was a well crafted coat! it was also a brave article with small embellishments like hand made buttons and topstitching to name a few that let anyone that cares about these things say "someone took their time with this!". When I then looked at the price I was flabbergasted. It was practically a give away. Log story short, I bough the jacket. The sales person was lovely and said that there were extra buttons that went with the coat but she didn't know where they were. I told her I was around and could come back tomorrow. Fast forward to showing up at the store and meeting one of the two owners - Adrien. He was very accommodating and got the buttons from a slew of buttons he and his wife had made. While he was gathering the right buttons, I found myself finding more reasons to shop more than leave. So, 10 items later I found 2 skirts and a dress that are now making my coat from the previous day part of a KISU family. Each item was unique and I was so pleased with the way the clothes fit me. I love these clothes. Wearing something that is well made makes me feel loved. From my conversation, I am not sure how long the storefront will remain where it is but I know they will continue to make thoughtful pieces of clothing. Check it out if you are in the neighborhood... you won't regret it.
