Based on our family's experience, it was not the right fit, and withdrawing was the best decision for our child. In our experience, the school places a strong emphasis on obedience, compliance, and respecting authority. For our child, this emphasis often felt prioritized over academics, emotional development, and age-appropriate flexibility. We observed that normal childhood behaviors such as hesitation or resistance around nap time were treated primarily as discipline or compliance issues rather than developmental needs. We attempted to communicate and seek alignment with staff regarding our child's emotional and learning needs. While conversations occurred, we did not see changes that made the environment feel supportive or sustainable for our family. This review reflects our personal experience only. The school may be a better fit for families who prefer a highly structured, authority-driven approach. For families seeking an environment that emphasizes emotional regulation, flexibility, and allowing young children to be children, we would encourage careful consideration and thorough questions before enrolling. We have two elementary school boys there and the academic program is very challenging. The hands-on activities and interactive learning environment keep him engaged and excited about discovering new things. Every time we walk outside, I am constantly getting questions about the sky, the moon, leaves, different animals, just anything he sees and reads. He is constantly curious and has so many questions. As a second-year student, I've seen such growth in his independence, he picks out his own clothes, makes his bed, cleans up after himself including sweeping and vacuuming if necessary. Mrs. Shahnaj is incredibly attentive and is always encouraging my child to explore at their own pace. The mixed-age classroom is wonderful for helping him develop social skills, and he is learning to communicate and cooperate with children of all ages. My son started when he was 3 and immediately Mrs. Shahnaj noticed areas he needed to improve on with his social and emotional development and started to work on correcting it. She also let me know things I can work on to improve his emotional development at home and now I can truly see a difference. We are still working on some things but there have been major changes. Montessori school operates differently than public school, which I love. The children go at their own pace and each child focuses on what they need to develop. Each child is working on different things, but every child is still exposed to all areas. My son has learned so much in his year and a half he has been there. He has developed skills I know he will use for the rest of his life. I couldn't be more pleased with the development my child has experienced during his time at Theami. It's been a wonderful experience, and I'm excited to see how he continues to thrive in this supportive, enriching environment!

They're still humans! :)) But they really do learn in a much more varied 'landscape' of people, of cultures, family structures and points of view and they are better for it. Plus they are getting all the tools for great conflict management skills, a key predictor of happiness. And that's the icing on the cake of solid academics. My kids are learning, and most importantly, they are happy and confident, they feel loved and like they "belong" at their school. (They beg me to stay at aftercare to play with their friends!)

They sincerely practice what they preach. Despite his challenges, they never lost sight of his unique strengths. Now that he is in first grade, he is thriving. And, the beauty of it is, because it's a small school, his current teachers already have some familiarity with him and have been able to give me great feedback about his improvement. The focus on ensuring that kids are well-rounded citizens is also a real asset for FSA. My son is courteous, kind, and socially aware. He talks about helping the homeless, eating healthy foods, and caring for the environment. He gets adequate exercise and sunlight during the school day (which research shows is linked to greater energy and concentration). He is learning conflict management skills, mindfulness, empathy, and how to be a good member of a team. As someone who works with business leaders, I know that these lessons will be invaluable in his life. I once told the headmaster that he radiates warmth. His demeanor is so kind, upbeat, and positive - he never looks like he's going through the motions. I believe that he sets a great tone for the rest of the school. I can't rave enough about FSA. Bottom line: Look at the test scores compared to other private schools. The kids complain about the lunch. The co-curricular and athletic options are good. Your kid will be bullied.
