I couldn't be more impressed with their level of professionalism. My niece had a particularly difficult situation. After losing her father two hears ago, we noticed a steady decline in her grades at school. After a year as a C student trying to tutor at home we realized we needed a professional to help her understand the material. Applerouth created a unique learning plan and was able to connect with her on a level we never could! She is now bringing in an A- average, and we couldn't be happier. She's making friends, and is actually excited to go to school. I wholeheartedly recommend Applerouth to anyone who may find themselves in our situation, or for anyone who may just need a bit of help. You won't regret it!

Before you read, all of my comments are about 1 location only, the Briarcliff Rd location…read more It was the worst SAT course prep I have ever taken. I have never felt the need to give a negative review but I have no second thoughts about leaving a review for Applerouth's SAT course. It is the definition of a waste of money, and I want people to know what they are getting into. Here are things that happened while I took the SAT prep class: During one of the practice SATs, a cockroach crawled up my leg and obviously distracted me from my test. My teacher didn't offer to help and acted scared. I had to kill it myself while my time was running out. To add on, there was no AC in the building. Unless you are a cockroach, why in the world would you want to marinate for 2 1/2 hours in a building without AC in the MIDDLE OF JULY. All of the people taking the test were genuinely sweating. Next! I had two teachers who each taught about 4 classes, so 8 in total, and I think my knowledge may have regressed. The first guy seriously taught like he was picked off the street and asked "do you know how to add?" and then was hired. He tried to make jokes that weren't funny and he didn't have the basic knowledge to teach an SAT class. Once we were doing a problem and I got my answer, shared my answer, and he said we will see if I'm right at the end of the problem. So then the whole class works through the problem about 90%, and goes onto the next problem. I asked what the final answer was, because he never shared it, and guess what he said!! He said "oh I didn't work out the whole problem cause my knowledge stops at Algebra 1"! what I'm sorry what I honestly thought I was getting pranked. How are you teaching an SAT class and you don't work out the full problem??? I jumped for joy when I went to a class and he wasn't our teacher anymore! But my hopes were too high, because the next lady shocked me even more! She was late to EVERY class, at least 30 mins but more than likely an hour late. First of all, that is disrespectful of our time. And if teenagers can be on time to an SAT class, what the hell is up with an adult that can't?? Low bar people, low bar. She also, didn't teach well. Better than the guy, but not well at all. I was about to loose my shit when she wasn't even phased that she was late. If I was late, you wouldn't be hearing the end of my sorrys. I just don't get it, if you choose the time of the class as the teacher, BE THERE ON TIME To wrap this mess up, do not send your kid here if you're a parent or don't choose this SAT class if you're a student. I really wished I was being fooled on a prank show because I couldn't believe these people. That's it's ‍

After a few weeks of attempting to study for the test on my own, I made the same choice many in my position do, and I reluctantly signed up for a very expensive class. Ultimately, this turned out to be a great decision. The Good: James, the Atlanta instructor, is why this review gets five stars. He is fantastic. He teaches the required curriculum, but then he goes beyond that and helps students understand the test, the best guessing strategies, and even those pesky math fundamentals that I have not used since high school. What I feel set this class apart from experiences my peers have had with other companies, is that James was always available. Even 4 months after the class, when I it was Steve vs. the GMAT, round II, I still got help with my GMAT questions via email. The online tutorial sessions are also fantastic. You can use them to supplement your in class and at home work, and ensure that you stay on track. What I liked most about them, is that they tended to be very personalized. The attendance was low, so it was typically a 3:1 ratio, which provided a very interactive learning environment. My only complaint about the class, is that they don't have a very solid "guarantee." After my first try at the test, I needed more help, and though James was available to answer specific questions, and the online materials were at my finger tips, I would have appreciated a chance to sit for more live classes. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend MGMAT to anyone.

If your child excels in math or science, I would not recommend this school since they don't have a large enough class size to create varying levels of classes. The history and language arts curriculum is very creative, I think the chronological time line and incorporating both literature, history, and biblical studies together worked very effectively. However, a school should be able to excel in all subjects rather than just a few, since a well rounded education, especially at a young age, can help children discover their passions. After I transferred from Intown to my public school, I realized that I was very behind in math. I went into the accelerated program at the public schools and I found the classes much more rigorous and I was able to develop a much better work ethic for college. Smaller school also meant less club varieties too.

They also worked to help me find services and tutors who were within my family's budget. I was also given the opportunity to receive a list with descriptions of possible tutors who matched my son's interests after they took the time to find out about who my son was. The tutor we ultimately selected, Nick T, was AMAZING! He really was skilled at working with my son, recognizing when he made stupid errors and when he truly did not have a grasp of certain concepts. Nick T's personality is just AMAZING. I feel so blessed to have had Nick T work with my son.
