I have been attending Joy for over six years now and I still haven't seen it. What I have seen are people that love you almost as much as your dog can. (They haven't started wiggling their behinds when I come in the door like my dog does, but their love, caring and hugs are a close second). So, if you want to hear the word, COME TO JOY CHURCH. Our second church visit, didn't feel quite right, too few cars outside. And finally, like Goldilocks, our third church was just right. We walked in right as worship began. We appreciated and sang along with the meaningful worship hymns. The sermon was full of depth and scripture and helped to deepen our understanding of the grace given to us by God. During the welcome time, people came from everywhere to stop by and give us a warm welcome. Thank you all. We were relying on prayer to help us find the right church home. Looking back, I realize now those closed doors were meant to help us find this one. When we are back in town, we will definitely visit again.

When volunteering at "The Big Table" I overheard a couple on leadership say, "who is that" instead of introducing themselves and welcoming me. They help homeless people on a weekly basis but not someone who has been attending for months. Christ Jesus and the Scripture I read would not reject, betray, judge nor view disabled seniors as outcasts. Distant friends from another state are completely flabbergasted at the lack of assistance and acceptance Journey has provided to a child of God.

While I agree with this, I didn't feel the direction this church took was where I was meant to stay. Shortly thereafter we were called to move to a different state. Many people still there are my lifelong friends. You may find this place your home. But it's not the same place from the first review. Also: they own a building in Brentwood so now it's just Journey Church.

This church is evil. My sister in-laws tried to get my wife and I to join. The first hour is choir. The second hour usually is Greg Locke talking about how much money he has all due to god but if anyone wants to contribute to "the church" here is how to do it...says he is so blessed because god pays his bills" (not the people he's lecturing for 1hour out of the 3 hours of sermon to write a check out to him) and then justifies how he should be able to live a good life off of the money and that pastors shouldn't struggle (I agree but not to that degree this guy is milking everyone for their last penny for his personal gain) Wow. Just wow. Then after close to an hour of talking about money he moves onto politics saying anyone who is democratic is the devil, explains that the cause of autism in children is the result of demons possessing your child (yep you heard that correct) and then he moves onto being a bigot and a homophobe saying the alphabet people are pedophiles? How is that even related? This man is out of control. He is not close to god and in fact is the opposite. If I ever saw an anti christ -it would be Greg Locke. If you're looking to stray from god, join this church, if you're looking for an outlet to display your homophobia or radical political views without judgement, be my guest and join the his church! If you have hate in your heart for groups of people in the world that look or live their lifestyle differently from you, join this church! This church breeds and feeds hate. Not to mention the fact that Greg had an affair with his secretary and then kicked his wife to the curb and married the secretary while the wife became homeless living in a women's battered shelter! She released tons of text messages of Greg demeaning her in so many ways including trying to control wether or not she cuts her hair. I told my wife he is a power hungry man and was surprised he was so political bc it really caps off his growing in numbers power and what happened? He's now announced he made a mistake in talking about politics and wants every political group to join now all of a sudden! Oh, and now he's turned the church from non profit to PROFIT. Everyone needs to either run away from this man and dismantle his power, or come together and stand up to him and this church for what is right. God is not leading that church, satan is. read more

I visited this church with an open heart, hoping to find a place of worship centered on the teachings of Christ. Unfortunately, I was deeply disappointed by what I experienced. Rather than focusing on biblical truth and spiritual growth, the leadership promotes a version of Christianity that, in my view, strays from core doctrine. There was a concerning emphasis on political rhetoric--particularly a strong alignment with Republican viewpoints--which seemed to overshadow the message of the Gospel. I believe faith communities should be welcoming to all and grounded in scripture, not in partisan politics or ideologically driven narratives. Church should be a place where truth, compassion, and humility are prioritized--not a platform for pushing political agendas or divisive interpretations of doctrine. If you're looking for a church that remains focused on Christ's message and avoids entangling faith with politics, I would advise looking elsewhere. read more

This is got to be the worst of the worst in any state. We paid Tithes and offerings when they were a non prophet, now they are a for profit business that hates everyone! The Church is suposed to be a sanctuary of Hope that speaks about Christ and his follwers, this so called church speaks about demons and dominion every day.. Don't expect "God is Love" here...referring to Democratic voters, the pastor said, "They are God-denying demons that butcher babies and hate this nation." Apparently a very large percentage of Christian pastors and parishioners are all "demons." Who knew? If you're looking for a hateful, self-righteous church, look no further. If you actually want become closer to God, avoid this place like the plague. read more

Minister Locke says Israel should make Gaza a parking lot, which is embarrassing to hear as an American Christian. As a trained theologian with a minister father, I can assure you that is not what Jesus would say--whatsoever. Only a crude psychopath would say something like that. This church is so helpful, and the team here spends hours upon hours helping others and serving the Lord. They had church from Sunday at 10:30 am (Which many were there even earlier) to 2 am THE NEXT DAY so they could help people get delivered. What a mighty God we serve. (Date of writing: 5/17/22). Long Hollow has unfortunately become a shell of it's former self. As a…read morefriend once said, "there's plenty of gatherers, not enough cultivators". The church puts so much time & effort into getting you to come to church and "committing your life to Christ" (which in itself isn't a bad thing) that it forgets an important detail: You have to CULTIVATE the seeds, ensure they grow. In my experience with the church, while they accepted me into their family, the church itself (with a few exceptions) did not help me to grow in my faith, and in fact pushed me away in several instances. The worship experience they put together each week, while glamourous and flashy, doesn't feel real. It feels scripted, and fake. Staff is moved around every other month, you never feel like you can get a personal relationship with anyone because they are always being moved around, not to mention there are so many of them. The one positive I must give to Long Hollow is the facility they have built, and continue to built. It is one of the best in the region, boasting a sanctuary of ~2,000 capacity and an overflow/chapel of ~200 more, a coffee shop, a building dedicated entirely to the students with 2 more sanctuaries, and soon to be a "community" area. In conclusion, whilst Long Hollow does have the physical amenities required to support it's large population, it lacks in several key elements that are absolutely necessary of a church. I cannot in good faith recommend Long Hollow to anyone.

When I moved to Lebanon, TN I considered 25 churches and whittled them down to 2 after visiting many, listening to sermons, and viewing them online when available. I began attending Grace Life Baptist Church over a year ago and have found my home. Although it's on the smaller side, Dr. Jeremy Vanatta and the congregation have been an incredible blessing. He is the excellent pastor I sought; humble, personable, and smart. The congregation is as loving as they are committed to growing in their faith---a strong group of believers that I can't imagine being without. If you're looking for a solid Bible-believing church, I hope you visit any Sunday at 10:30a.
