My husband and I recently traveled to Europe for almost 3 weeks, booking the trip with Heather at Globe Getaways. It was a very last-minute decision...with planning starting about 3 weeks before our departure date. Needless to say, I felt a bit overwhelmed with all the details, especially with the holidays coming up. I've never done this before, but I searched Yelp for the name of a travel agent in my area who might be able to assist me with the planning. I knew nothing about Heather, except that she had received several excellent reviews. Heather responded immediately to my call. I told her that I had already purchased my air tickets to Europe, but I needed help with arranging transportation between countries, hotel selections (I gave her a price range), and gave her a few of the special places we wanted to see that might require tours to be set up. Within 24 hours, she provided me with a preliminary itinerary, complete with all the information I needed. She worked with a company called Europe Express to ensure our travel plans matched our vision for the trip, within the budget we had set. Needless to say, the combined efforts of Heather and Europe Express resulted in an amazing trip. We traveled to Amsterdam, Brugge, Brussels, Munich and Florence...with several side trips and tours planned. We went on city tours in every major city; some were planned and some we arranged ourselves through Sandeman's free walking tours (which were excellent...you just tip the local tour guide). The hotels chosen were all great, with full breakfasts included each morning. I had asked for them to be located within walking distance to the train station/ central downtown (if possible), and in every case, they were. This made it really easy for us to take local trains to surrounding areas to explore outside the metro areas. We also appreciated that Heather arranged for private transportation upon our initial arrival in Europe (Amsterdam). After a long flight, and not yet oriented to the area, it was REALLY nice to not have to worry about how we were going to get to our first hotel. After that, we were fine with navigating the cities via rail and/or bus. Soon before the trip, Heather provided me with all the necessary travel documents, train tickets, hotel and inter-country air vouchers, tour vouchers, etc. She also printed off a travel itinerary with all hotel contact information for me to share with family back home. The cost of the trip was very reasonable, considering how much was included (18 nights of hotel, and breakfasts, inter-country train and air travel, booked tours, private transport from the airport to hotel upon arrival, etc.). I would've spent just as much if I'd have booked it all myself. This was definitely the no worry, no hassle approach. There was not a single snag on our trip, which was really incredible. We're pushing 60, and at times, we find we aren't as adept at planning a trip as we used to be, mainly because it can be complicated at times. It's not the actual traveling that holds us back, it's all the options and decisions that need to be considered in the process. Letting someone else take your vision of a trip, and helping you implement it, is empowering...and it makes it happen. That's the bottom line. So, I have a trip down under coming up next spring, and my itinerary is a bit more complicated than usual - I'm going to Queenstown, NZ but wanted to add a few extra days to visit either Aukland or Sydney before or after. So, a multi-legged trip. I just didn't have the time to commit to shopping fares especially since my travel dates are somewhat flexible - and my departure city is also flexible (basically, I could depart from either LAX or SFO). I'll just use my Southwest points to get me to the west coast first, where I can visit friends before or after departure. I googled around and found Globe Getaways. I think Google actually pointed me to Yelp, where I found them. Decided it wouldn't hurt to shoot them an email. Within an hour of sending my email, Heather had replied to me. A few emails back and forth to describe what I needed, and 36 hours later, my trip is booked! Not only did Heather and Pam come back with multiple options, they were both very responsive, and the deals were great! I did my own research and couldn't touch their offerings. They do charge $50 each direction (they don't make a commission on flights), but it was the best $100 I've ever spent. Not only did it save me a lot of time and hassle shopping flights, but they also found me a great fare on in Premium Economy on Qantas for the long haul flight. Even with the additional $100 - this is WAY cheaper than if I had done this on my own. They didn't try to upsell me on packages or hotels since I only need airfare, but, Heather did mention they do offer those services. While my time in NZ is part of a photography workshop, after this positive experience, I think I might consider seeing what trip packages they have in/around Sydney. I'm very excited and can't wait for my trip! read more

I came across raving reviews about Globe Getaways on Yelp. I was relentlessly looking for a good travel agent since the one's my friends and family has recommended we're dead ends with no response or poor customer service. I emailed Heather Travis about wanting to plan a birthday trip for my 30th to Paris. It was only a couple of months away, so I knew we were one a time crunch. She emailed me and called me literally with in minutes. She was prompt and very informational. She asked what I wanted and price range and started right away on an itenerary. She emailed me prices and suggestions , we spent days exchanging emails and she worked with me endlessly to stay in my price rage and include certain attractions & extraditions in our itenerary. Before finalizing everything she went above and beyond and checked prices again and ended up savings us a couple of hundred on our flights. When meeting up to get our vouchers she was the sweetest, she gifted us chocolate truffles and stood talking with me over some coffee. She was such a delight to work with. We had planned a trip to Mexico last summer through an entire different agency and it was a head ache. It was such a nice breathe of fresh air. We had a couple of minor hiccups while in Paris but when we had emailed Heather they were dealt with quick and painlessly. She also went out of her way to email me happy birthday, and congratulate us on our engagement ( he proposed on the Eiffel Tower out first night there) when we returned home we had a lovely thank you letter & birthday wish card from her. This year we celebrated two graduations (one from college and one from high school), a 50th birthday and 26 years of marriage. We contacted Amy Quinn because two of our 4 had never been outside of the US and none of our 4 had ever been to Italy. Our main criteria was we didn't want to be on a bus tour but wanted tours of each city to learn more of each place. She created a 10 day tour that included Rome, Florence, Cinque Terra and Venice, with train travel in between. The packet she provided us had a very detailed itinerary that gave a day by day agenda, vouchers for our tour, and descriptions on where to meet with recommendations on how to get to each location. This packet made our trip effortless and allowed us to explore each area on our own in between tours. Being Italian novices this approach REALLY allowed us to relax and absorb as much of the culture as we could. One surprise element of our trip was a 7 hour layover in Munich on our way to Italy. Amy recommended to take the train into Munich, which we did. This little stopover gave us our first taste of Europe before landing in Italy. Amy worked with us every step of the way while creating this trip and was in contact with us on our trip through What'sApp. We still talk about this trip as if it were a dream and are ready for the next adventure (which may or may not include our kids - ha!). We had the pleasure of working with Amy Quinn on a family vacation to Europe over Thanksgiving. The hotels Amy suggested & booked were perfect! Small, boutique hotels, with excellent service and in great locations! We worked closely with Amy to decide what we wanted to see and what would hold our two teenagers' attention. She was great at finding tours & tour guides that were educational, fun and engaging for all 4 of us. Each day we met our tour guides either in the lobby of our hotel or at a designated location, with transportation organized. I wanted to go to Alaska on a cruise as a bucket list trip, so started planning and saving in 2018. I decided on Princess Cruise Line, and I quickly realized that there was so much to do, so much I didn't know, that I was in over my head. I joined a Facebook group Alaskan cruises on Princess, and it was there that I learned about Globe Getaways and Pam Cheek, a TA that has specialized in Alaska trips with Princess for some time and an admin of the group. She and the Group site provided a tremendous amount of information for me. The local agents I called had never even traveled to Alaska, so it was amazing to have such a wealth of experience and information available to me. The trip was planned for 2020, and then the COVID scourge hit. I returned from my finally completed trip a week ago. I cannot express enough gratitude for the help Pam provided and also her associates when she was out of office. Through 4 years of trials and tribulations, cancellations and the changes to the trip, Pam endured my incessant questions and she was invaluable in planning my trip. Like a lot of people who put travel plans on hold in 2020, my family decided to go big in 2021 and spend Christmas in Mexico! I thought I could book it myself, but with family members flying in from all over the country, staying for different lengths of time and needing rooms of different sizes with different amenities, I realized pretty quickly that I wasn't going to be able to pull it all together. Thank god for Heather! She handled every detail, was able to add someone at the last minute and even managed to have all of us land and depart at almost the same time. And when it became apparent that COVID was not actually in the rear view mirror, she was a comforting resource, telling us exactly what we needed to know about our travel insurance and how to plan for a worst case scenario (which, thankfully, did not come to pass!). We exchanged a lot of emails over the last six months, and I'm not sure I ever waited more than an hour for a response - even when she was on vacation herself! Our trip was perfect. I contacted Heather at Globe Getaways and told her I wanted a beach vacation for my family - my husband, my son and me. I didn't give her much to go on, but she asked questions to find out what kinds of activities we like and suggested a few locations. We finally decided on Jamaica, and she took it from there. She booked us at this amazing all-inclusive, beachfront resort that had a water park my son loved. We booked the trip way in advance, so I was really impressed when Heather contacted us right before the trip to make sure we had all the final details and knew when we could check in online for our flights, etc. She really had the details under control. We arrived home last week, and the trip was perfect. It was exactly what we were looking for, and we didn't have to work out any details...Heather did all that. And the price she got was better than what we could have gotten on our own. My husband and I took a delayed Honeymoon over the summer, and were completely overwhelmed by all of the options available to us, i.e. All Inclusive or Boutique Hotel, popular or secluded location, how to plan activities, etc. Luckily we found Heather, and based on the great reviews I decided to give her a call. It was the best decision we made throughout the whole process, as she made the rest of the decisions much easier. She helped us narrow down a location, was open and honest about the pros and cons of each type of destination/resort, and then provided a great list of activities and booked them. Anytime I had a request, or a small issue with the planning process came up, Heather was flexible and easy to work with in finding a solution. Our trip to Tulum, Mexico was everything we wanted - non-stop flights to and from, lots of action and adventure planned, rental car so we could explore on our own, and gorgeous beach front at a small boutique hotel. The Israel Holy Land Discovery Tour with Pam Cheek as Globe Getaways host and Shlomi Carmel as guide was AMAZING! Every moment was beautifully planned. Hotels and free HUGE buffet breakfasts and dinners were wonderful. Each day was packed visiting historic sites with meaningful personal experiences, such as the boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, the baptisms in the Jordan River, the floating in the Dead Sea, camel rides, bedouin dinner, tram ride and tour of Masada, and of course all the visits of the sites where Jesus lived, walked, taught, and died. You won't find a better price anywhere for a Holy Land tour--most others are TWICE what Globe Getaways is providing. The tour guide is highly educated, kind, and informed. You will feel safe and inspired! Jump on the next tour. You will be delighted with all the personal touches that Pam and Shlomi provide. Our dream trip to Alaska would not have been possible without my travel agent Pam Cheek and Globe Getaways. Pam was so helpful and knowledgeable about Princess Cruises and Alaska. We had to cancel and re book for health reasons and she was great. No matter what I asked in over 2 YEARS she was right there with the answers. We just got back from 12 days in Italy and it was a dream come true thanks to Heather's mad planning! We started with tickets to music festival in Florence where our favorite artist was headlining, a budget and a dream and she helped turn it into an amazing adventure. Heather handled a Celebrity Caribbean cruise for me with my stepmom last year, and then helped us change it from November to December! To say that Heather Travis is an exceptional travel agent and a wonderful person is an understatement. We just got back from 2 weeks in Italy and the experience exceeded all of our expectations. She planned every detail to perfection. The transfers were always on time or a little early. On several legs of the trip, we had to take boats and trains etc. In every case the person handling the transfer practically held our hand until we were in line to board the boat or train. At the end of our trip our flight from Rome was cancelled. We called Heather in a panic late on a Saturday night. She got us rebooked in the same cabin on a later flight. I think she stayed up past 11 pm Denver time to make sure that we were totally taken care of for our flight home. Heather at Globe Getaways was absolutely great. I consulted three other travel agents before talking with Heather, and she blew the others away. Although it wasn't crucial, Heather said she preferred to initially meet in person to get my details and requests, which I thought was a really nice touch. I didn't actually book a vacation through Heather due to unforeseen family issues, but I am absolutely planning to use Heather again when I'm ready to book another vacation. She was great at answering any questions I had either through phone or email, and answered all questions in a very timely manner. Pam, the travel agent, was going on the same ship on which my friend and her husband asked us to join them on their cruise. My friend put me in touch with her to learn more about the trip since we had never been on a cruise. She was so helpful and friendly eager to answer any questions I had. We decided to go and she provided me with a travel Facebook page that I could follow. She posted past and present travels with great pictures and descriptions that by time the cruise happened I felt like I knew her! During the cruise she made sure we were comfortable and happy and if there was a problem she promptly and calmly told us just what to do. My husband and I worked with Amy to book our trip to French Polynesia in September. We couldn't have been happier! She took the time to talk to us and get a feel for what we were looking for. She tailored it perfectly with what we wanted. We spent 10 days there on 2 islands, so between the flights, ferries, and transfers on the islands, there were a lot of logistics to be figured out.
