We would have had to wait 2 hours to get on the ferry from Dauphin Island to Fort Morgan. Instead I drove 1.5 hours back to Gulf Shores. Had it not been for the Red boiled peanuts sign, I would have drove on by. I was driving my parents truck, so I parked and walked in. Gloria has huge kettles where the peanuts are freshly boiled. My dad and I love boiled peanuts. My mom is kinda liking them. We started to eat them and I walked in and tried the spicy ones, no go. Decided to buy another pound of boiled peanuts. The whole family at Gloria's was so busy today serving up boiled peanuts and selling everything, including watermelons. I wrote a review earlier, but I felt I had to go back for pictures so you could genuinely see the feast for your eyes inside Gloria's. Good variety of produce. A place we like to stop at multiple times during the time we're visiting Dauphin Island.

Friendly, well stocked, lots of specialty items, and boiled peanuts! My mother-in-law goes here all of the time and says, "I never have gone there that I didnt find all of the items I was looking for. They have a great variety that is fresh and affordable." She goes here often so I got her to tell me some of her favorite aspects of this store. When I pull up to park I usually just steps from the store. There is always someone who greets me to ask if there is something in particular I am looking for. When I get to my items there are always plenty of bags to keep my items separate. BOILED PEANUTS! They have regular and cajun and people flock to them. The displays are attractive and neat, making great looking produce look even more attractive. Check out the seasonal plants. This is a bonus that most produce stores dont have. In the spring they have Boston ferns, in the summertime there is a variety of potted plants including begonias, coleus, and Check out the jellies and pickled foods! My father-in-law loved his cantaloupe jelly, they have lots of locally produced honey (which I heard was great for my allergies), pickles and pickled okra, Shelled peas and beans. The black eyed peas and lima beans are some of the best I have had. They will take special orders. If I need a bushel of corn, they will arrange for me to pick up a bushel of corn within a few days. Of course it has to be in season. Open late in the summer! Most fresh produce markets like this one close before dark but this one is open until dark so maybe one could go after work to do your shopping. One of my favorite produce stores! read more

It's a very nice fruit & Vegetable stand however the spicy boiled peanuts are not all of that. I had a hankering for Cajun boiled peanuts so i looked at ratings on here as to who had the best ones in mobile. Gloria's had the highest rating so I went there. They were unique with the different hot peppers mixed in them but i would definitely not rate them as best around in my opinion circle K has better. We've always got the from the flea market but the last time we had them from there they went downhill it's like they now just boil them and sprinkled seasonings on them. Gloria's Produce is the highlight of every drive home from Dauphin Island. After a day of sun & sand, an ice cold coke & boiled peanuts always hit the spot. There's also a vast variety of fruits, veggies, pepper jellies & other homemade favorites that will delight the taste buds. Prices are always fair, even cheaper than the Greer's right down the street. The staff is always super friendly & ready to help even after the longest & hottest of summer days. We've never purchased anything from Gloria's that we didn't absolutely love. Make sure to stop by next time your in the area. read more

We love stopping by Gloria's produce stand on the way to Dauphin Island. It's easily accessible from the Highway. But be careful, it's a busy intersection and there's not a large parking are, all of which is roadside parking with no defined parking spaces. It's a stereotypical southern produce stand with chicken wire walls that go up when they close. There is only dirt for flooring, which is terrible when it rains. There is no refrigeration so the produce often wilts. But, I will tell you the best peaches I have ever eaten in my life come from this place. We like to get the elephant garlic when they have it, and I often get peppers from here. In the fall there are mums and pumpkins. The reason we stop here more often than not is for the delicious boiled peanuts. Everyone has their favorite, but we'll drive the 40 miles just to get the peanuts here, passing up other closer and cheaper options. Don't look at the boiling pot. Just enjoy the salty goodness often with pieces of set-you-on-fire-hot jalapeños. Don't forget your cash or checkbook because this place doesn't take debit or credit cards. A shame really that they don't. And the closest ATM is a good 5 min drive away so don't get caught without cash. So why did I only give it 3 stars if I love this place so much? Because of the potential the place has but doesn't take. A Square reader and a 25¢ debit charge would be more than enough to quadruple the business. The parking is sometimes at your own peril. Too, the dirt floors just makes it seem not quite so sanitary. Yes, I know most food grows in dirt. But I just wish there was a real floor here. In any event, try the peanuts.
