We were originally planning to have our small (immediate family members only) wedding at City Hall,…read moreand when I was searching for a venue to have a small dinner after I stumbled upon the Toronto Wedding Chapel. I am so glad that I did! It felt strange at first, leaving almost everything to others to plan - not even seeing my bouquet or the colours of the linens until 1/2 hour before the ceremony. The last week prior to the event, I even began to question whether I had made a huge mistake. When we got there and had a look at everything - it was absolutely perfect! I was amazed at how beautiful everything was. The ceremony was wonderful, the food was fantastic, and everyone involved on our day were so great, I can't even come up with words to describe it. Leading up to our big day, the staff always answered all my questions, whether by email or phone. They asked for pictures to get a sense of the colours we preferred and hit the nail on the head. We always felt accommodated and absolutely like ours was the only event they were planning. A special thank you to Katherine, who was absolutely amazing - knowing what to say to keep me calm, asking the right questions so she could correctly choose how to decorate for us, and having a great sense of humor. This venue is small - definitely not for a large wedding, but for the 18 guests we had, it was heaven. I absolutely recommend the Toronto Wedding Chapel if you have a small wedding that you want to be memorable but you're perhaps not the greatest at planning or just don't have the time. The only drawback was the photography. Unfortunately, about 20-30 pictures were pixelated and at least as many were blurry to some degree - however, they did send us almost 300 pictures (in less than a week!), so I refuse to give them less than 5 stars. The rest of the pictures (and there were a great many) were beautiful, and there were plenty to choose from. My initial communications with people here in person were great. Towards the endi, it was incredibly frustrating that they would send out LONG standard responses asking you to review everything, yet on at least 3 occasions, did not even respond to my questions. Though we got what we wanted, I was incredibly disappointed at communications with this team. I tried going in person, over the phone and emails to get the message across. Luckily getting invitations is not a long process and we got beautiful invitations. In retrospect, I would have gone elsewhere because this is the only vendor that was frustrating to deal with. I'd recommend you do your research to shop around more than we did. Depending on what you want, you may not really save this much at this place. We budgeted $5 and spend close to $9....that said, we loved them.

I am not a huge DIY person so I didn't want to put my own invitations together. While searching around, I realized that adding a rhinestone to the invitation added a lot more cost. I am so glad I happened upon Stephita while searching online. I order invitation #917 because it was exactly what I wanted and so much cheaper than any of the stores that I was looking at in the US. Also, I did not have to pay tax since the store is based in Canada! Working with Stephita was also wonderful. Everyone was so nice and patient with me as I went through multiple proofs after changing my mind about one thing or another. The invitations came ahead of time and they even included extra envelopes and RSVP cards. I would recommend them 100%!

However, the set-up (name cards/place settings/centerpieces) was at a glacial pace such that there was no time for wedding helpers to verify all hundreds of name cards were placed at the correct seats by M&O staff. A second consequence was that guests were unable to mingle in the reception hall any earlier despite the ceremony having ended early, and some guests were forced to wait outside despite the cold. Jordan attempted to offer alternatives, but the set up staff did not speed up the set up process, and guests continued to wait outside the reception hall in a standing room only lobby area (and expressed frustration about that). Name cards were swapped/the opposite of what the bride outlined in the seating chart, so that at long rectangular tables a husband/wife were sitting at opposite ends. The staff potentially were not from M&O (potentially outsourced from a different company) but some did not clarify seating, and as a result, mixed up all the food orders. Some individual waitstaff were quite good about verifying name card placements but others did not verify them at all. Hopefully no one had a severe allergic reaction that night, as the seating chart from the bride and the reality of where names were placed were completely different for some tables. M&O also took boxes of glasses filled with water one by one to set up (instead of wheeling out several carts which would have expedited the process) and set everything up extremely slowly. Staff also served only 2 plates at a time, with about 6-8 people being served at a time. At a large wedding, this was disastrous because it took more than 40 minutes for them to serve the main course to everyone. This threw off the whole schedule of speeches so in the end we were more than an hour behind schedule. They also expressed a preference for people to be seated while the courses were being served due to the tight space (the tables were quite close together because the venue should not have allowed so many guests in that particular hall/room), which is a tad unreasonable at a wedding with several hundred people. In the end, guests couldn't enjoy the photo booth nor mingle as freely, and the schedule was extremely behind because speeches couldn't go on while people were in the middle of being served. Not sure if M&O outsourced their waitstaff to a 3rd party company that night, but would not recommend to anyone unfortunately despite the food tasting good.

We purchased the 'Everything but the Dress' package and it was truly a stress-free process. Andrea and John have been truly wonderful to work with, very responsive to messages, and very accomodating to our requests. About 3 months before the Wedding Day, we had an Engagement Photo Session, and the photos were so beautiful we used one for our wedding invitations! On the Big Day, the venue was so beautiful, the cake was delightful, the hors d'oeuvres were plenty and delicious! Andrea has perfectly captured our wedding colors through the cake, boutonnieres, and the bridal party bouquets which were just stunning to look at! John was excellent, and he also put some humor into the ceremony! He worked with me in outlining the ceremony, as well as my music choices (I have given him too many music selections!). The ceremony was amazing and everything went smoothly! Andrea has kept me up-to-date with all developments with the wedding planning. She made sure everything was perfect! She took beautiful photos throughout the day, before the ceremony in the bridal suite, during the ceremony (capturing all the most precious moments), and after the ceremony for portraits with the family. She made sure all the guests were happy and taken care of. As a bride on her wedding day, it could be easy to forget some moments as the day goes by really fast, and it could get overwhelming, but the photos have made me remember how magical the day was, and the experience made me really say to myself: 'I do not want this day to end'. Andrea and John, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You for making our dream day perfect! We will never forget how wonderful our wedding day was! I highly recommend Coach House Weddings for your beautiful and intimate Wedding Day!
