Arrived on…read moretime, checked in, presented with a beverage, sat down and waited. 15 minutes later, received a cancellation text, so I walk up to the desk and inquire. She checks it out and sorts it out with the stylist, and so I'm up and go to the chair. Stylist apologizes. And proceeds to tell me how she's had a bad day with first time haircuts, and had two "No Shows." And proceeds to tell she had feared I was the third... Perhaps they received a similar text while waiting in the lobby... So I sit down, and she asks me a few questions related to medical history, diabetes? High blood pressure? Hemophiliac? And ask about allergies to lavender or other oils. I let her know I do not do CBD anything, and she says she will note it in my profile. She then proceeds to ask me about my hair and how I would like it. I provide feedback. And then gracefully proceeds to asks me what are we doing with your beard, so I provide feedback. I get my haircut and my beard grooming completed. Upon the completion of this service, it is now time to pay. I walk up and she says, your total is $90 and how much would you like to tip? I respond, "haha, II got the "First Time Haircut" promotion, but the cancellation text might have affected the price." She lets me know, "yes we have you for the promotion first time haircut, and that usually runs $xxx. And you also got the first time beard promotion which is also $45 and usually runs, $xxx. And then the cashier chimes in, but you can switch to the membership for two services for $67/month, but you'll have to remember to cancel or you'll be automatically charged next month. So at this point, I don't trust their business practices, because it appears they are being intellectually dishonest with the customers. A little bait and switch... With the first time customers who are unfamiliar with their cost structure. So I take my licks, pay the full price, tip the stylist $25 cash cause the time in the chair getting a haircut and beard worked well, so I tip well to let them know, you could've made a lot more in tips from me in the future, had you been honest with me. I don't see myself going there again, unless I'm in a bind. Anyway, proceed with caution. Honestly, I like the haircut. I like the beard trim. She did a great job. I probably would've left with a membership, but I don't do business with companies/staff I can't trust.

From Jesse to Jose, the crew is friendly, laid-back, and genuinely skilled. They don't rush you through the chair either. Expect about 30 minutes of attention to detail: trim, haircut, hot foam, and a clean razor finish. You get the full MD Barber experience, and it shows. The atmosphere is just as entertaining as the haircut. The barbers are constantly joking with each other, the conversation is lively, and yes, the language can get a little colorful. During my last visit, Austin Powers was playing in the background, so every now and then you could almost hear, "Yeah, baby!" fitting perfectly with the vibe. If you're looking for a polished, silent spa experience, this probably isn't your place. The way he cuts hair is great, but it's his fading on the sides that's made me a loyal patron. Some of the best work IMO. Many of the barbers here extend their contact information where you can simply text them. They also offer shampoo/wash for a small fee which I grab every time. If I was able to pack up MDB and take them with me wherever I travel around the world I'd do it in a heartbeat. See y'all in Feb for a wedding in town.

This shop is just down the way from WBAMC, and is keen to servicing the service members on a regular basis. My female hairstylist used a disposable razor for my skin fade instead of a straight razor like the rest of the people there. She stopped to talked to her mom on the phone mid-haircut and stopped another 4 times to dance and talk to her friends in the shop. She did not bother making an effort to have a conversation with me and cut my scalp during her razor phase.
