Great little 9 hole golf course! It's not the best but the price makes it worth it, Suggest going past 4 for twilight prices as well!

Fairways and greens are in good shape. Bunkers no so much. I am a beginner golfer so no complains there. I hate hitting off bunkers anyways. Some of the holes can be pretty hard for high handicappers. Narrow fairways and lots of tees. You have to keep em straight. Some of the holes are so beautiful. Especially hole 9 and hole 18. They have some water hazard as well. They also have a driving range. I think they can do better by reducing tee time prices to attract more customers. Piankatank is a better course for the same price. By lowering price they may get more people to play. That's the only reason I am giving them 4 stars. Food is great here. They have a decent restroom with shower.

He cautioned me on the condition the course was in, and he was right. The Tides Inn should should be ashamed to let an otherwise decent layout get to this point. On the front side, the tee boxes are gone: just compacted dirt. Most of the bunkers have become unplayable waste areas. The cart path is really deteriorated. The greens weren't awful, but most had patches of completely different grasses. The condition on the back nine was better. Most of the tee boxes were good, and the fairways in better shape. This course has some beautiful holes, and the overall layout is fun and challenging, but so much work needs to be done to get this course back to a course I could recommend.

River Course at Kingsmill…read more On a gorgeous autumn day, we enjoyed a round of golf at the course. Upon arrival, the bag drop area was available to leave our bags. The staff members helped us get our bags secured onto the golf carts. There is a small cooler on the golf cart. After checking in at the pro shop, we found the scorecards by the door. The pro shop had a great selection of golf goodies and I was eager to purchase some items with the Kingsmill logo. We had a wonderful time playing golf at the club during our recent visit. We played the River Course, which is known to host some of the most prestigious PGA and LPGA tournaments. The course is in excellent shape, with beautifully maintained greens and various obstacles that made our game more fun and challenging. Although the James River views are not visible until the last three holes, it was still an excellent way to wrap up our 18-hole round. Two restrooms are located along the course, and the access code is provided at the first hole. Don't forget to jot it down on your scorecard or take a quick snap in case the doors are locked. A beverage cart drove through a couple times to serve refreshing drinks throughout the course to keep us hydrated. A tip: for the par 3's, go left! The staff at the club was exceptionally friendly and supportive, making our experience even more enjoyable. We're already looking forward to our next visit to the town and playing golf at the club again.

We used Golf Zoo and they should have informed us. The course might be in better condition in the next few months. It was challenging and fun. Fun finishing hole. Comfortable carts but no GPS, clean bathrooms on the course. Friendly staff.

I felt who I presume was the manager did a good job at organizing and she was dressed impeccably on top of that. The food was simply okay. They truly need to work on temperature control as nothing was actually hot and honestly barely warm. The second issue was the entrance to the buffet is a BIG choke point. Visibility is impossible to see people starting to coming out and it does not flow smoothly. If their intention is to keep the buffet there they really need to wide the entrance significantly to more than a doorway. They offered a flower at the close of the meal which was a lovely gesture. The staff would receive 4.5 stars. Food-2.5. Function of the buffet-2

9.24.25 Update My wife and I slept very well last night --…read morethe bed was very comfortable. We made bacon, eggs, and coffee in the morning (I forgot the bread at home, so no toast this trip). After breakfast, we enjoyed some time on the patio before heading out for a walk. We stopped by the pool area at the main building. Staff told us that the pools are heated at the main building, we were surprised to learn the pool we loved on previous visits (with the great kids' area) is no longer heated. That was disappointing since we really enjoyed it before. I tested the main pool water -- it was cold, and even the indoor pool was chilly. It showed in the turnout too: only one person in the outdoor pool and nobody in the indoor pool, compared to how busy the other heated pool used to be. It's surprising that Marriott wouldn't keep the pools consistently warm, especially when guests clearly used them more when heated. I guess we'll have to see about going somewhere else. We'll see what happens tomorrow with our presentation -- though it still feels strange to have to sit through one when we paid for this package.
