I just came from a friends house who is an older lady. Benjamin Franklin Plumbing sent a plumber to…read moreher home to fix several leaks. He was there for a little over an hour, did nothing but remove an aerator from a bathroom faucet and left it on the counter. He said they would have to order parts and come back and fix things. He then told her it was 220 dollars for the visit, she wrote him a check, he gave her no receipt. If you don't fix anything how can you justify charging that kind of money. It is shameful, gives the plumbing industry a bad reputation. Shame on you

About 1 year and 7 months ago, Benjamin Franklin Plumbers (BFP) in Billings, Montana, handled both…read morethe purchase and installation of my water heater. The installation was quick, taking less than an hour, plus perhaps another hour for pickup and delivery. However, my experience with BFP has been nothing short of frustrating, and it's clear they don't stand behind the products they purchase and install. A few months after the 1-year parts and labor warranty expired, the pressure relief valve failed, and BFP charged me $188 for labor to replace it. They also checked the water heater expansion tank and water pressure but failed to record that information in their detailed notes--information required by the manufacturer, Bradford White. I found this failure unusual, especially since my unit was fairly new. For comparison, my previous water heater lasted over twenty years without a single issue. Recently, the water heater failed again when the catch pan filled with water, triggering the unit to shut off. I called BFP to identify the problem, and they informed me the water heater was defective. Their solution? Replace it for $850, though they later lowered the price to $776. I think it's outrageous that they would charge me such a high amount for a defective unit they purchased and installed, especially considering how little time the original installation took. I would not recommend Benjamin Franklin Plumbers to anyone. If you're set on using them, I strongly advise requesting estimated costs for any issues that might arise after the labor warranty expires. There are far better, more customer-oriented businesses in Billings that stand behind their products and charge reasonable prices. Save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere.

It's an older house that had been neglected before I bought it. They charge a travel fee of course, but still - when no one local called me back or even acknowledged my phone calls I thought I was still getting the better deal. They explained the breakdown of the costs and that they travel all over the area, and as the only plumbers who do I think that deserves a fair rate. They came out within a few days and got everything done, and were exemplary in their work and professional in their handling of me and my situation. They did all the plumbing things I could find for them, along with explaining what they were doing and giving good advice. Going from two toilets that don't work to two toilets that do, and having everything in good working order is like heaven. Now I have a great new house with excellent plumbing, thank you !

Just drove by their location and a fleet of work vehicles and vans were parked in the lot. They said they do not have anyone available to come over for at least 10 days. They do not have techs on call anymore to answer a question, they are not "always open" as advertised. They must have lost the license for selling and servicing the brand of product they sold me because they no longer are listed on the Manufacturer website as a retailer/servicer. Look elsewhere if looking for responsive boiler sales and support. I am.
