I have been meaning to write this review for awhile. I went to see Maria in November for a wedding I had to go to that night (I wait until the last minute for a lot of things.) Not only was she professional and personable, but she does this because this is what she LOVES to do, which makes a world of difference. It's a very inspiring thing to see a woman take charge of her own business doing something she loves, and it shows. What I also love about Maria, is that she texted to follow up and ask how my tan and the wedding was, which I found really cool. As for the spray tan itself, the application experience, and the tan itself was AWESOME. I'm 32 and UV tanned quite a bit in my life, but decided to stop in my 20's because I didn't want the dangers of UV or wrinkles. I can say hands down, this is the best tan I've ever had, either in the sun or spray. I was super worried about spray tanning before my wedding, but decided to do a trial with GlowHouse. I had a fabulous first experience at Glow House! I was on a huge time crunch before a big event, and I wanted to get a nice spray tan to look (& feel) even better in that new dress ;) In the past, I've only trusted & went to this salon in Manhattan, but since I live in Astoria, that trek sometimes is time-consuming, esp on the weekends! I am so, so happy I stumbled upon this gem in the neighborhood right before my event. Maria was wonderful from start to finish. I went for the Express where you can shower any time from 2-4 hours later. I showered 2.5 to get a nice vacation glow. Everything about it was perfect since it was quick & easy (I got out in approx. 10-15 minutes), and the tan turned out beautiful (even, bronze, and natural - no tint of orange). Surprisingly, I prefer the results, comfort, & warmth of service of Glow House over my go-to in Manhattan, so I've converted. I'm very fair, so I was pretty apprehensive before my first appointment, but I needn't have been. Maria is super friendly and knowledgable and I was instantly at ease once she began to explain the process. She also followed up with me the next day to see how I felt about the results-and the results were stellar! It was super natural looking, even all over, and I felt like a movie star. Amazing! I got a pretty bad sunburn a few weeks before my wedding that left me with crazy tan lines! I found Glow House online and called to see if they could help me. Went in for a "test patch" to make sure I wouldn't break out from the spray and Lola was super sweet and put me at ease. Test patch was good so I made an appointment to go back for a full body tan with a concentration on trying to blend the tan lines on my neck & chest area. Maria was SO incredibly sweet and helpful! A day later (the day before my wedding) the tan lines were still pretty visible so I called Maria. She told me to come in and she would attempt to help even more. She took the time to HAND blend the entire area!! She is an angel and it was a fantastic experience. The day of the wedding, no one could even notice the tan lines! Thank you Maria and Glow House!
