I deal with a lot of vendors and I knew my same-day request (on a Saturday no less) would probably be met with cranky "not possible in the timeline" responses. Instead, I met Jolene on the other end of the phone. What a warm and positive person! She immediately took on my problems with grace and alacrity. She not only solved the heaters and blanket asks but also added so many details that I would never have thought of. Baskets to hold the blankets. Blankets tied with twine. Additional black napkins in case someone was wearing a dark outfit. Found local wines and beers. Just extremely thoughtful in everything she did. My event was not big or expensive. I'm from out of town so I'm probably not a repeat client (wish I could be!). And I had a very last minute weekend request. And Jolene pulled through 110%. I engaged Lilli's services because she claimed to have experience with my chosen venue in Aspen. However, when I inquired about my entrance, she couldn't provide a clear answer. On the actual wedding day, she seemed unsure of how I should make my entrance down the aisle. She later mentioned that she had given me options for the entrance just moments before I was due to walk down. Why should such a critical decision be left until the most nerve-wracking moment? Lastly, we had a flower girl and her mother who arrived late to the rehearsal, meaning we couldn't practice their roles. Lilli failed to communicate the necessary instructions to them after they entered, leading to the flower girl becoming upset and wandering aimlessly during the ceremony. We reached out to Lilli Black on a whim, not expecting a reply, as we are working with a very small budget. How wrong we were! Lilli didn't just reply, she replied at 9:00pm at night 10 minutes after my initial query. She even conversed with me for over an hour, providing me insights, general advice and really calming my nerves! The next day we were in her office! She gave us the full run down on a typical budget, potential place we can host it at, and completely different styles of wedding. We haven't even engaged her yet, and she was professional to the T, providing us insight in the spirit of good will. She has hosted 1000+ weddings and the experience showed in her candor, knowledge base and demeanor. At the end of the day, we didn't manage to book Lilli only because our first choice became available. It was so special to see her ability to hear the vague words and create my perfect vision for my day that all of our guests commented was "so Ashli and Brad."
