I called Jolene at 2pm on the day of my November evening event. It was super cold out and I needed heaters and blankets to make an important meeting comfortable. I deal with a lot of vendors and I knew my same-day request (on a Saturday no less) would probably be met with cranky "not possible in the timeline" responses. Instead, I met Jolene on the other end of the phone. What a warm and positive person! She immediately took on my problems with grace and alacrity. She not only solved the heaters and blanket asks but also added so many details that I would never have thought of. Baskets to hold the blankets. Blankets tied with twine. Additional black napkins in case someone was wearing a dark outfit. Found local wines and beers. Just extremely thoughtful in everything she did. My event was not big or expensive. I'm from out of town so I'm probably not a repeat client (wish I could be!). And I had a very last minute weekend request. And Jolene pulled through 110%. I chose Laurel & Rose as our wedding planner the end of 2020, almost a full year and a half before our wedding. Through this time, I worked closely with Mariah Burke (our Lead Planner) to carefully craft my perfect vision of a wedding day. Right off the bat, her attention to detail, organization, and personality shined through above the 8 other planners I had talked with. Each step was custom to us and she made us feel at ease in trusting her with picking our vendors, design decks, handling budget, and other things that would come up. There was not one time where I felt like her second priority, even a year out! Her and Jolene (Lead Planner & Owner) respond promptly, both in and outside of business hours, set valid expectations and really partner together well. They are best friends and look like sisters! I worked with Laurel & Rose when I did makeup for a bride in San Miguel De Allende. I was already familiar with the team since they also coordinated another friends wedding in Palm Springs, CA as well. Jolene is the absolute best!! She had everything under control, and her team was beyond amazing. There's a certain level of professionalism you just can't get from all event planners. Jolene & team made sure each transition from every event was well thought out, and spent time planning details as well, which is unreal considering they were destination weddings! I had the pleasure of Officiating a wedding Jolene coordinated in the California redwoods. It was one of those days where the weather was unpredictable, and Jolene had to stay on her game keeping everything flowing while making difficult decisions around whether to move the ceremony inside. At the last minute, she made the call to keep the ceremony outside in the sacred redwood grove, and it was the right decision. The rain let up during the ceremony, and by the time they said "I Do" hearts were warmed and the drizzle barely noticeable. Because of the rain, timelines and logistics were continually shifting, and Jolene was the utmost professional while respecting my time and agreements. By the end of my Officiant Duties, I felt like we were old friends who had climbed a mountain together! Jolene is a clear communicator both before and during the big day, and was able to bring the wedding team together as a cohesive whole. When my wife and I (who live in Wisconsin) decided that we wanted to get married in the mountains, we knew we were going to need some help. We found Laurel and Rose by chance (or maybe it was destiny?) and before we knew it we were in Colorado visiting potential locations with our new wedding planner, Jolene. After our initial conversation with her she immediately understood what we were looking for, and on that first trip she brought us to the venue where we ultimately got married. Jolene was very organized and basically held our hands through everything leading up to the wedding, taking a ton of the stress out of the planning process and allowing us to get excited for our big day. I found Laurel and Rose via Instagram. We live in NYC but spend a lot of time in Aspen, Colorado. One of the Aspen Instagram feeds I follow, posted the image of this incredibly beautiful summer wedding on the mountains of Snowmass. I was completely drawn to the aesthetics and grace of the event. Thankfully they tagged their event planner: Laurel and Rose. I saved the information and when the time came for us to start planning for our kids Bar-Mitvah in NYC, we emailed them. This is when we met Jolene Peterson, the founder of Laurel and Rose (note the company is named after her 2 sisters!). We immediately knew this was the only person that would bring our vision to life for an organic, graceful and beautiful event for our twin boys. Jolene flew to NYC twice before our event. I can truly say she is an expert in destination events. Our vision was to bring the Aspen mountains to NYC and Jolene and her team executed flawlessly. I really don't know where to begin because the immaculate attention to detail was so exceptional. She is a genius of bringing not just an event to life but an entire experience. She worked on this event from Colorado and it was as if she was a local, that is how well she understands the event markets around the country and worldwide. She is hands-on as his her entire team and she pays attention to every nuance of an event. No request rattles her and everyone of our requests was executed to perfection. She is exceptional at keeping a strict timeline from when and where to print the invites to fully managing the entire flow of the evening. The outcome was a flawless 7-hour Bar-Mitvah event (the ceremony preceded the party and she organized that too). The NYC demographic is one that isn't easily impressed. However this event blew everyone away. The accolades were endless, nobody had every experienced a Bar-Mitvah so beautiful, classy and fun with such meticulous attention to detail. From the lip glosses in the bathroom to the on point mountain decor to the flawless kids program and adult entertainment. It was a perfect event. Her attention to detail after the event was also astounding as we got back so many keepsakes that she had saved for us during the night that typically would have gotten lost in the shuffle. It is an honor to have worked with Jolene Peterson and her entire Laurel & Rose team. We would love to have a future event just so we can work with her again! Until then we will shamelessly recommend her to friends and family across the country and the globe because you will never find a destination event planner like her.
