To me, the mark of a good day-of coordinator is that you aren't really sure of what they did, exactly. And yet...your event runs smoothly and on time. And that kind of thing never "just happens"at an event without a ton of work involved. During the wedding planning process, Abbey was always responsive, positive, and honest with her feedback. When I needed her to do some extra work for me with vendor research, she delivered thorough results which helped me make an informed decision. She was always calm, cool, and level-headed with my slightly neurotic questions, which I always appreciated! I also never sensed a hint of judgement for my decisions to not do x or y. During set up on the day-of, Abbey executed my vision and exceeded my expectations in making everything look just so lovely. You can trust her to adapt to scenarios you may not anticipate. When something I had wanted (my bridal bouquet on our sweetheart table) just didn't look quite right, she found an alternative that was just as beautiful. And at the end of the night, she handled the exit of vendors, the storing of our precious extra alcohol, and our valuable gift envelopes...without me being aware of any of it. Abbey made it possible for us to just enjoy ourselves and not think twice about logistics. My only regret is not hiring her for her in more of a full-time planning role. I planned my wedding out of state while holding a full time, high-pressure job, and it was way harder than I thought it would be. But since hiring your coordinator is one of the first things you do...I didn't really have perspective on costs for things so I felt like i HAD to choose just the day-of. Looking back, when I think of all the stress-fights I could have saved with my husband, I just kick myself over not just hiring Abbey to just handle everything for me! There are not enough wonderful things to say about Abbey, and Purple Summer Events. From my initial phone call with Abbey, I knew I had to have her as my planner. She made me feel so calm, and I just loved chatting with her! I was planning a wedding across the country, and she was so great at leading me through every step. When I was unsure and just wanted her opinion on something, she gave me her honest opinion, which was always the right direction. We never felt pressured, and always felt like we understood every option. We had the pleasure to meet with her before our big day, and she was so organized and full of ideas and excitement. We ended up hanging out all day, and had a blast! My husband was actually incredibly into all the planning once he met Abbey. She really listened to him and made him feel included. There were some details we didn't really care about, and she would step up and tell us when she thought we would be upset with the outcome, or if she personally, wouldn't go that direction. It was SO helpful. We had some "out of the box" ideas, and she just said, "OK" and got right on it, or found it for us right away! Our entire wedding party loved her! She was able to reign in our rehearsal with a wedding party of 18, and it went flawlessly the day of our wedding! Abbey is so fun and just wonderful to have around, but her attention to detail amazed us. She had awesome ideas, kept things simple when needed, and made us so excited about our special day, when it could have very easily been extremely stressful. To say that we couldn't have done it without Purple Summer Events would be an understatement. From the moment I first contacted Abbey, she was immediately available for recommendations, even though 1) we hadn't even cut her first payment and 2) we only hired Purple Summer Events to be our day of coordinators. We knew that PSE truly cared about making our day perfect for us and not just "checking the boxes" of a wedding. I was already impressed with PSE right out of the gate, and then we were introduced to Kelly. I literally don't have the words to describe this powerhouse of a woman. She truly took the time to understand our vision and jumped right in to bring it to fruition. At 30 days out, she took over all vendor communications and kept us organized with detailed timelines and to-do lists. She was always available by phone or email, and she gave me so much confidence that everything would be fine on our wedding day. And it was truly perfect. Kelly (and her assistant, Maddie), were absolutely wonderful. They fielded questions from vendors, guided our guests to the right places and kept everything running smoothly, even when we had last-minute changes to the timeline. They handled our crazy families with professionalism and patience, and they were so friendly, that even our guests commented about how wonderful they were. In the end, our wedding would have been a lot harder without PSE. While we were initially skeptical about needing a wedding planner (who wants the extra cost?), we realized that we were able to relax and truly enjoy the time leading up to and during our wedding. We hired Abbey & Purple Summer Events to help with design coordination and day-of coordination. I initially found PSE listed in Denver's A-List. I loved the vibe of her site and ended up having a great initial phone call with her. Abbey was instrumental in providing vendor recommendations for everything we requested based on our budget and style, including photographer, caterer, vintage dress designer, etc. Her design questionnaire for us resulted in her putting together a style guide that was so incredible and spot-on. Even though we weren't initially thinking like she was, we ended up matching the guide almost exactly as we continued to put all of the pieces together. I am a planner by nature and I was really excited for the opportunity to plan my wedding, but as we got more and more into the planning and closer and closer to the date, we were so incredibly happy to have made the decision to have Abbey involved in the process. It was relieving for us to know that she was in complete control of all of the day-off details with the vendors and venue, and we could just focus on our big day and our families. As my cousin said the next morning, "Whatever you paid for your planner, it was well worth it," And I couldn't agree more. My husband and I hired Abbey to work day-of coordination for our October 1, 2016 wedding. She kind of found us and we kind of found her- but long story short, it was a wonderful lining up of the stars! She was very easy to work with and had great advice as well as local vendor recommendations. She was especially fantastic with organizing the logistics of vendors dropping off things to the venue on the wedding day (it was seamless). I also really appreciated her detailed timeline for the day (from getting hair and makeup done, to first look photos, to even factoring in 5-10 minutes to bustle my dress- which quite frankly we needed because it was super confusing). At first this seemed a little too strict, but my venue has a lot of rules about time, so it was NECESSARY to be that specific. It really helped things to go smoothly on a somewhat crunched time schedule. On a separate note, Abbey was there to immediately comfort me when an "out of anyone's control" crisis happened. This was above and beyond the scope of her job. She really cares about her clients and genuinely wants them to have the best, most care-free wedding. She is prompt, always on time, and has a calm "no big deal, we will figure this out" attitude to handle wedding day hiccups. I would highly recommend her. Abbey TRULY went above and beyond for our wedding. We are both "Type A" personalities and I was immediately won over by Abbey's demeanor. I met with many wedding planners beforehand and she was the shining star. I wanted someone who would let me be involved with the designing process of the wedding but take care of all of the rest of the details I didn't have time for, didn't know to pay attention to or was indifferent about. Abbey presented us with several options for how involved we wanted her to be. They were all priced incredibly well (perhaps she should even charge more!). Once we selected tag, she showed us a ver organized schedule of what decisions needed to be made when, etc. We were presented a variety of vendors to pick from and even suggested some of our own. The contract process was super easy as she handled most of the communications with vendors. We had some issues with being passed around at our venue and Abbey came to the rescue to eliminate any stress on our side. When the big day came, things were seamless. Abbey took over dealing with everyone so we could just relax and enjoy the moment. We did not have ONE issue on our wedding day. I can't say enough about Purple Summer Events. Wow, where to even begin! Abbey was such a fantastic planner, we really had the most beautiful day. We had our wedding at Devil's Thumb Ranch on May 29, 2022, but we started planning on the late side (did not book the venue until August 2022). Abbey immediately helped us feel right on track. Right from the start, Abbey took the time to get to know us as a couple. By doing this, she was able to match our energy and execute our vision perfectly. She connected us with most talented vendors who made our day absolutely spectacular. Just a few examples- we wanted a showstopper floral arrangement- she hooked it up with Lale florals (look them up). We wanted a meaningful interfaith ceremony, she introduced us to our Rabbi who we connected with deeply and made our ceremony so personal. On our actual wedding day, we had just about every weather event you can imagine in Colorado (rain, hail, snow). Because of Abbey, the day ran seamlessly despite using multiple weather alternative locations for our ceremony and cocktail hour. We are so lucky to have had Abbey Hoefling and Purple Summer Events as our day-of coordinator. We hired Abbey and Kelly for our day of planning. Kelly was our coordinator and did an amazing job. Everyone felt confident in where they were supposed to be and what they were supposed to be doing. Our only regret is not hiring them for full planning. We were very busy with moving and work before the wedding and underestimated how much work it would take to organize and coordinate everything.
