I find so many good deals here, it's crazy the store is as empty as it is when I come here! Fine, if I want turkey bacon or vegetarian baked beans I might need to make a second stop, but it's worth it to save the $70 per grocery trip. Knocked one star off because their prices often don't ring up correctly, but they're real quick about helping you with that.

Not only that but it is a really nice store-well maintained and stocked well majority of the time. Their off-brand, Food Club, is also very good: I have purchased numerous Food Club items and have been satisfied with the quality of the items. Plus, they have sushi and that makes me super happy! The sushi is delicious.

This one is for the cafe…read more Things aren't what they used to be. I used to go to this Cafe at the end of every work week, I used to actually invite my friends to come with me. They would look at me strangely and say " really, you want to go to Hy-Vee for breakfast" I would Rave about how good their food actually is for being a grocery store Cafe. I can safely say that not one of my friends ever left disappointed. Great food, great service, friendly atmosphere. Things aren't what they used to be. Even before the rise of prices of eggs for some unknown reason they decided to switch to the eggs you get from a carton. Very fake tasting and never really cooked that good. They went from using real mushrooms in their omelets to the cheap stuff you get in the can. They used to have very delicious sliced potatoes that would taste like heaven, but now you can only get hash browns that are very Bland. In closing, pretty sad when a cafe in a grocery store can't make your omelet with real eggs. Things aren't what they used to be. Still very friendly service. Although I don't know her name, there's a gray-haired old gal that is always smiling, always joking, and makes you feel right at home. Thank YOU for making me feel welcome. His customer service skills are on whole new level that I have never experienced before. I also asked for a few items to carry and told him that my family is gluten free due to celiac disease and he is actively trying to carry more gluten free items. He has even said that he can special order stuff for me if I ask him to. Buying the meat that they package there is also the best option as you know that it is fresh and weighed correctly.

Like any small town grocer, the prices aren't always going to be where you'd like them, but supporting the small business helps keep costs down.
