I've never felt intimidated to walk into this studio. There is never any judgement only encouragement no matter what your fitness level is. I love the this studio. A new owner purchased this studio about 3 years ago. She is a retired high school teacher that found yoga at a second stage in her life. Her joy is infectious and it's apparent with her staff and members that attend. It is a wonderful addition to our community in Bluffton. She is always hosting different community workshops that are wonderful to be able to attend in our small town.

I've seen all ages, shapes, ethnicities, genders, and sizes of people at the gym, but no judgement or intimidation! The madness classes are fun and great because the movements change frequently and you aren't stuck in the same motion for too long that can seem like a drag. Although my goal is not to make it to the NFL like some of the guys he's trained and sent to the NFL combine, he is still helping me get to my goal in a safe and healthy way.

I want Management to know that their strongest asset is their people! In particular, a delightful young woman who runs the front desk by the name of Mel Schiller. She is quite literally the face and the voice of the place called The Beaufort-Jasper YMCA! Mel is so very welcoming, capable, and positive! Wise beyond her years with such a strong "can do" work ethic! I recently switched up my insurance coverage and Mel was instrumental in helping my navigate all of my options. I hope that you know what a positive difference she makes in my day, when I don't see her smiling face upon entering your lobby (for my two and a half hours workout, three times a week) I don't feel the same sense of community as I do with Mel so masterfully welcoming and multi tasking all the many responsibilities she has at the front desk, for so many of us, and all with a great big smile on her face! She has true heart and a strong commitment to member service satisfaction.

We got great instruction and it was actually easier than I thought, although the current made the trip out pretty tough. My *almost* 9 year old son came with me and stayed clipped to my board until we turned around and rode back with the current. By then, we both had the hang of it and we had a great time! Would definitely do this again and highly recommend checking NALU out next time you're at the Fripp Marina! (They also have great swag and I wish I'd have gotten a t-shirt!)
