They ran…read moreelectrical wiring and NAILED the wire BETWEEN the sheetrock and the studs (twice!) bulging out the sheetrock and causing electrical fire danger. I had to unscrew the sheetrock and get the wire out. They put sheetrock directly over an electrical outlet with no hole in the sheetrock, causing me to spent hours redoing their work! They nailed THROUGH an electrical outlet box to install it. So I have 2 nails with bare metal exposed inside an electrical box where an outlet is supposed to go-that's a major fire hazard! They spent 2 weeks doing a ~1 week job. They used an electrical sander for mudding with no sheets and spread sheetrock dust all over the basement. 2 months later, still digging out from their mess. Absolutely horrible; overcharged, underperformed, multiple instances of fire SAFETY hazard issues, egotistical jerks. Brian is a real piece of work, horrible individual to work with. Threatened to put a lien on the house b/c they didn't want to clean up dust mess they spread all over the basement (over computers, chairs, couches, etc.) and I wouldn't pay them until they did. If I could give a negative review I would.

I first called about my backyard wooden gate. I have a "kitchen door" type gate which allows me to open the top, put the garbage bag into the can in the alley for Friday pickup and not let the dogs out. It was beginning to sag and I was afraid I would have to have it replaced. The owner, Micah, looked it over and said he thought it just needed to be secured. He worked on the hinges and added a bolt to the bottom gate to support it and keep it level. He noticed that some of the nails in wooden fence itself were coming out and went back and secured them as well. I was very pleased with work he did. Micah is willing to do what you need -- a big job or just a small one! Since then, Ancient Path Handyman Services LLC have helped me with my back door, the gutters and a few other things. They get the highest rating from me. I don't think you can get better quality and value from anyone else!

When we first bought our house, we had terrible contractor after another. I finally found these guys and not only have they provided amazing service, they've pointed out major things wrong with the previous contractors work and helped us get it fixed very quickly. They stay on top of letting me know when they'll be by to start and finish up the work and I don't have to worry about them not responding or not finishing the job. I will continue to use this crew for the remainder of our projects. I'll edit this post once I have some better after pics as some work is still in progress but KUDOS TO THESE GUYS!!! Touched up 16 yrs of wear and tear of interior, repainted two rooms, installed grab bar at too of stairs, painted bare block "safe room", added epoxy on bare concrete floor, now, instead of looking grim, looks warm, comfortable, 3. Stripped, refinished wood entry, master bath built in cabinetry, 4. Removed old, installed new roof, 5. Repaired work botched by three previous contractors on composite deck aluminum rail system. The previous botched because assumed same as plain wooden deck, refused to read mfr's instructions of how to do, even when I printed, gave them copies of manuals. Amazingly, these guys already knew what to do! Turned a horrific mess into a thing of beauty, as was intended. 6. Last contractor never cleaned up job site, left trash, debris, scrap scattered everywhere, refused to finish the job and clean up mess. But R & J cleaned up the mess, hauled it all away, 7. Garage ceiling dry wall had a crack from side to side, they repaired, refinished. Also epoxied bare concrete floor. 8. I have a "wild" 2 acre yard, let to go to support critters. Due to age, can no longer maintain, keep "clean". They took care of it, did a beautiful job. In short, they were expert at every task I gave them, did meticulous expertly done work, exactly as I have been trying to find locally for the last 17 years, and their pricing was better than any local quotes.

Our intended project estimated cost was averaged at about 50-60K. 113 Contracting business is run by Michael W. Hall of Addison. It is a limited liability company, which means you can only sue for the amount of the companies worth. Been in business for about 3 years. Has a small crew. The business is registered with the Alabama Secretary of State. Not listed with the Alabama State Contractors License Board. No confirmation from the Alabama Home Builders Board as a member. A contractor is usually required to have a county business license no matter the project cost. In our opinion, we found him to be quite arrogant, with a puffed up, high-and-mighty attitude. Had no business card. Appeared offended and uncooperative when asked about his license, insurance, liability, etc. Gave the appearance of having no patience in a statement that he didn't want to be interrupted while working on your project to answer questions or to explain things and would quit. Boasted having equipment to handle a variety of jobs. Unknown what equipment or if owned outright. Mentioned had problems dealing with women on potential projects. Was recently arrested due to a complaint filed by a woman and currently pending trial on the matters. All part of the public record. Expects approximately half of the project cost up front for materials, leading one to suspect he has no credit with any materials supplier for a client's job. Offered a contract refusing a detailed estimate as requested. We wouldn't sign or trust any written contract without an attorney's advice. While it is customary to expect some upfront money by some contractors, in our experience, most a reasonable person should give is between 10-25% deposit of the project cost. Any payment should be by check, loan or credit card. Similar projects to ours completed with references were requested but was referred to non-descriptive pictures on his Facebook page. States he warranties his jobs for 12 months but no specification what exactly was covered. I'm amazed that others haven't written any reviews, good or bad, thus far. Overall, too many red flags, not professional and happy to say he's NOT a contractor we'd ever do any business with and didn't, or would we give as a referral. I hope this review helps other.

There have also been times when we needed something and *thought* we knew what we needed, but he offered options and suggestions that were a significant improvement to what we were thinking. He explains what would work better and why it would. He explains costs and his rates clearly, which are always fair and within our budget. This gentleman has common sense (which is not always a given these days) that is enhanced by his experience, accumulated knowledge, honesty, and integrity that we have seen time and time again.
