I had called ahead to make sure (because not all dive shops are treated equal) and they confirmed they did. When I entered I realized that this was definitely a full service scuba center, not just a shop with a few items here and there; they had a full selection of gear, a large pool and learning center, a very nice large changing room, etc etc., basically everything you could ask for from a dive shop/center. I don't live locally to the area, but happy I stopped and I'm armed w knowledge for the future, and to share here, that they'll take care of you with friendly and professional service.

And he went in the back and brought out a pair of green kid goggles. Both masks had a small flow from the inside. They needed to be serviced. Sandra helped me with connection with Jesse. Jesse (Tech) was able to diagnose and gave me options over the phone. His knowledge base is outstanding with these masks. They need to be serviced every two years of 100 dives. I had 10 days to get our masks serviced. Jesse made and appointment for me and I went down to Ocean Reef. They have a beautiful facility and everyone was welcoming. Jesse recommended a new folding support for the communication system and had my masks done in two hours. Thank you to all at Ocean Reef. We love your masks and the service is outstanding.

The first call I made was answered immediately and I was given instructions on troubleshooting. No luck so I was instructed to send the unit to them and they would repair or replace it. They replaced it with a brand new unit that retails for over $500.00. No charge!! Every person I had contact with was friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. Thanks to my amazing instructor Spencer, I pushed through, and now I'm very proud of myself! He really took his time with me, was extremely patient and walked me through every skill step-by-step. I've lived here my entire life and have never been whale watching but have always wanted to,…read morehowever it's just not an experience I'd typically consider splashing out on for myself (**spoiler alert - my visit was less than two weeks ago and immediately after disembarking I told my husband I wanted to get on another tour stat!) For Christmas, my husband's aunt gifted tickets to our entire extended family to enjoy a whale watching tour together so we finally landed on a date and it was an awesome experience from start to finish. We arrived about 15 minutes early for our 9:30am boarding time, checked in at the kiosk and were given paper tickets to be handed over to the crew as we came aboard. Once onboard, we were introduced over the speaker to the captain and crew and given a quick rundown of the itinerary and safety procedures. We navigated through the harbor where we spotted our local sea lion neighbors basking in the sun which especially delighted the kids and the out-of-town/state passengers, sailed out of the harbor and into the open sea. It was a pleasantly calm morning with hardly any wind and very smooth sailing. The only slight downside was that it was a particularly gray morning, so there was little distinction between the color of the ocean versus the sky but it was very clear and we could see for a long distance. We got probably close to halfway through our two-hour tour without any sightings but once we were about 5 miles off the coast, we started hearing transmissions between the crew over their walkies so we knew to start keeping our eyes peeled. The next half hour or so was spent watching three beautiful fin whales take turns coming up for air, swimming under the boat, rolling playfully and showing their light-colored bellies. It was so fun to be able to move about the boat freely to try to get the best view, some photos and videos, while being filled in by the crew on interesting marine facts. Finally the whales took their deep dives, at which point we were informed they wouldn't be coming back up for air for a while and it was about time to head back. The cruise back was equally smooth as the adventure out, and we got in right on time and prepared to disembark but not before getting coupons for a future expedition and adorable fin whale stickers to commemorate our tour. I can't WAIT to go on another whale watching tour with Oceanside Adventures - it was the best time!! I would 100000% recommend.

It opened the doors for me to complete Advanced Open Water and start my Rescue Diver certification years later as a Volunteer Firefighter with Seagate Fire in 2001 after 9/11. A great experience and I recommended it to young Marines as a way to meet people as the "new guy" and a place that will hold many memories. There…read moreis a lot of paid parking if you want to park steps away, but if you are willing to walk 750 feet or so, there is also free parking. The harbor has a mix of shopping, dining, whale watching, and other assorted businesses to check out. There are restaurants, coffee shops, boat rentals, jet ski and kayak rentals, places to store your boat, souvenir shopping, etc. There is a lighthouse, and there are sidewalks so you can walk from one end all the way to the other end out by the ocean. And down by some of the boats are plenty of seals / sea lions to check out. They like to hang out on the dock sunbathing, fighting, frolicking, and general shenanigans.
