We really appreciated that. The side looks and stares we got was a first from a church for us. It was as if all eyes were on us as soon as we walked in the door and people literally just lingered and stared, some with not-so-nice expressions on their face. Did I mention we are a mixed race couple? I hate to say that's why, but I know it is. There was absolutely no diversity in the entire church (everyone is white). That issue aside, we stood and worshiped along with the off beat, off key songs that were being performed from the stage. I told my husband later I felt embarrassed for the men on stage because they were so bad...HOWEVER we know that's not the point of worship and would never rate a church based on their ability to sing and play instruments. This is just something to expect if you're looking for a church where you can sing out loud, clap to a beat, or get lost in a loud worship (this isn't the place for those things). I believe there was mainly good hearted people there. Several people looked as if they were recovering from a drug or alcohol addiction, so good for them for being there. (I overheard a couple talking about it in a group of friends who was recovering himself so this isn't an assumption) My rating mainly reflects 1) lack of diversity 2) the horrible uncomfortable feeling we had the entire time we were there due to several people of the congregation shooting us glares/stares and 3) it was small, but not the cleanest place *again, we did not hear the message because of the events leading up to the sermon. So this in no way reflects their teachings. KIDS: We walked through the Kids place first and it looked so clean and spacious. We don't have kids to put there but the young men working helped us find the right door and if I checked it out more I may have been comfortable leaving my child for an hour just based on the way it was set up (:

We didn't go into the Antique building and the winery was closed while we were there. The main building up front has a very interesting interior. They have a food counter that advertised sandwiches, pizza and ice cream, however even at noon the day we were there, there was not one working in that area. They have some really cool little displays, a cool old since set up with the soap area, there is a few boats set up inside and an old truck, the bathroom area looks like a cabin. The far section of the store is a boutique with all sores of female clothing, and boots. There is everything from cheese, canned goods, beer cave and a wine tasting area to try the local bourbon and wine, but again it appeared that was not opened. I would like to come back and check this place out when everything is open and running.

We heard about the Belton 8 Cinema after a news story about its sad and likely impending closing in…read moreAugust 2026 due to a deal made by the city of Belton that will cause it to be impossible for the Belton 8 to continue to operate. This is very sad to discover since, after being able to visit the Belton 8 Cinema on 04-18 at the 1:10 pm showing we found this gem of a theater to be very inviting, affordable, clean, and the staff all pleasant. When we arrived, the parking lot was pretty vacant since it was before the first showing.  The doors outside are nicely marked for which doors are for entry (left side) and which are for exit (right side).  Upon entering the theater, the box office is immediately ahead.  It was organized well and clean.  There were two employees at the box office, both greeted us and asked how they could help us. This is a first run theater.  We purchased our tickets, easily accomplished and the tickets very clear.  Our tickets for Saturday matinee were $5.75 each.  All tickets include taxes.  Tickets anytime are $5.75 for Seniors age 60 and older as well as children age 3-11.  Those age 12-59 are $5.75 for matinee and $7.75 for evening shows.  Tuesdays are extra special as all movies are $4.00 for any ages!  The only additional cost for any movie is $3.00 for a 3D Premium movie.  The reason for mentioning the prices is that, it is the most family friendly cost we have found at a cinema for many years with the loss of second run theaters. The lobby was very nice and clean.  There were two employees working the concession though we did not purchase any on this day as we had just eaten and were very full.  However, the concession prices, compared to other cinemas, were cost-friendly.  If they had Diet Dr Pepper, I would have to at least have gotten that (full or not, Diet Dr Pepper is always a draw and requirement for me). As we approached the area to head to the auditoriums there were three employees at the ticket taking area.  They were also all dresses nicely (one even had a shirt that said "Ticket Taker" embroidered on it), friendly, taking our tickets and letting us know our movie was the last auditorium on the left, auditorium 4.  There are 8 theaters, four on each side.  The hallway to the auditorium was clean with nice carpet and well lit.  The auditorium itself was very nice with stadium style seating, nice lighting, good seats, clean floors. During the movie itself the sound level was good, the screen was good, and overall a great experience. At our movie there were no previews of any type, which is fine.  We always arrive early to movies anyway so it is no problem for us.  We did notice, however, that all of the rest of the about twenty people who arrived as couples and singles, arrived a minute or more after the movie started.  Another benefit of the stadium style seating!  Just be aware that the stated starting movie time may be the exact time, of you are a person who otherwise arrives late to things. After the movie had finished there were three staff patiently awaiting outside the doors to clean.  That is a great sign as well! We already plan to visit the Belton 8 again this week after our first great experience.

It has always been a place where the Word of God was taught and practiced. Kenny Erisman, Raintree's founder and pastor, is one of the most genuine and caring people I have ever met. He truly has a heart for God and is an excellent Bible teacher. He left the pastorship because of health. Ryan Gilbert, his successor, has also been a wonderful pastor and teacher. The dedication of the men and women leading this church is evident in their attentive service and knowledge.

I certainly wasnt expecting the gem they call center stage, what a wonderful academy of performing arts. My daughter has participated in voice classes, theatre and Jazz and has loved every single one of them. She also participated in the aladdin production this summer and both my husband I was shocked at how well the production was performed and put together. We enjoyed it that much that we watched it twice. Everyone at center stage is super friendly and for what you get the prices are pretty reasonable.
