However, they neglected to inform me that they were out-of-network with my new insurance, even when I asked them to confirm as they pushed many 'preventative' services for my children that would only be fully covered in-network. I've paid close to $500 out of pocket for services that would have been free otherwise with an in-network provider. The complete disregard for THEIR error is mind-boggling and extremely disappointing. The office is chaotic and informed me this error (theirs 100%) is completely my fault.

I did all the things, all of them Arrived to my supposed-to-be consultation with the dental proprietor of the establishment, to be served a cup of rinse. I rinsed. I spat. I sat awkwardly through 20 pictures of my teeth being taken by digital camera. I held the tongs when asked. My husband raised an eyebrow. I shrugged. I was there to discuss a plan for getting implants, as my teeth did not make it through terminal lung cancer as peppy as I did. When I informed them I was not there for the $149 super special super cleaning, confusion was thick. I said again, I was supposed to see the owner. Andrea said she works with the #1 implant specialist in the country. I was stoked. We then waited 30 minutes for the dentist who showed up delightful, gentle and absolutely clueless to anything. She asked why I was there. I said to fix my teeth. She said what's wrong with them. I said there's only 7. She asked what I was specifically there for. Now less sure, I answered... expertise? On... dental... implants? Did no one... sigh. She excised herself to peer at my X-rays for the first time, and then said she would not be able to help me, but handed me a useless post-it where 'a firmer cancer patient like me can go to get specialized care for my cancer deformity.' Um. Those teeth were pulled in the 90's, back when sedation dentistry wasn't really a thing, and my dentist pulled anything that needed more than 10 minutes work because I had panic disorder. Unacceptable in the late 80's and early 90's. Point is, it was a waste of time, a schmooze to get me there and it was irritating because now my sedation dentist is like: appreciate what you have. And maybe that's it. I'll give him 23k because my deformity, whether from cancer or anxiety, doesn't bother him And he knows I'd absolutely smack him if he said I was deformed. Because what a douche to the ego High traffic. Very busy. It's dark. Addams family decor (black blinds with dark blue floors). Don't recommend. Unless that's your thing. Then go for it.

I recently entered a dental plan with way more provider options, and had the luxury of choosing where I wanted to go. I chose this office based on the glowing reviews on other platforms. They were right. I didn't have to wait long for an appointment (a cleaning.) They were very thorough during the cleaning, and super kind. It turns out I had two cavities so I had to come back for two more visits. The procedures both went super quickly and I didn't feel a thing. Dr. Gallup is a delight. She is seriously so kind and warm. She starts every visit by explaining what she'll be doing procedure-wise and gives updates during the process so you know what to expect. No one tries to upsell you on anything. Of all the dentists I've ever been to, they've been the most helpful in guiding you with tips on how to take better care of your teeth -- without being judgy. Administration is painless too. Easy to check-in, check-out, and get your next appointment scheduled. If everyone went here, no one would be afraid of the dentist. Seriously feel so grateful that I have the option of going here.

Dr. Romano put veneers on my bottom teeth that have slipped off several times. sometimes they broke so I'd have to pay for a new one. this happened more times than I can count. This caused me a lot of anxiety and money. Dr. Romano always seemed to hurry through my work. I just had a one veneer replaced a couple of months ago and have to have it put back on by another dentist because I have zero confidence at this point. I feel like I paid for high end cosmetic dentistry and was treated like I was an annoyance. When I requested my dental records be sent to my new dentist, all they sent were my x-rays. Wonder why.

They are "out of network" with all insurance providers and what this means is you will need to pay out of pocket at time of service. They will invoice insurance on your behalf, and you will get reimbursed by insurance. Beware that LJBS will invoice at the full cash rate not at the agreed upon contract rate. In our case the discrepancy between full cash rate vs agreed upon contract rate amounted to $250. So not only did I need to pay $650 out of pocket for 3 kids, for a normal run of the mill dental cleaning and check up, I was only reimbursed $400 from insurance. I've lived in 3 different countries, 7 cities - I've never come across a practice where you must pay out of pocket first. So if you're ok potentially being reimbursed less for a general service that is fully covered by insurance for basic needs, the hygienist is awesome.
