Most don't know this but at the beginning of the year, they offer a bucket of popcorn for $25, you keep the bucket and when you bring it back to enjoy more popcorn or go to the movie, it only costs $5 to fill that same bucket!! And this can be done throughout the year with that bucket. Shown in the picture is the bucket and the popcorn. The friendly staff also put the popcorn in a baggy so we wouldn't dirty the bucket on this visit. Normally concession items are super expensive at theaters. To start with, the theater is in DIRE need of renovation. The screens are huge, but the seats are dilapidated and the floors are concrete. The overall look makes it seem like a dollar theater in a shady neighborhood. Even the sign outside is missing lights. As far as the movies, most of the time the theaters are empty, even on nights when it's only $5 for any show (Wednesday). The sound and picture quality is adequate, if you can get over the uncomfortable seats. The other unfortunate thing is that the latest movies are at 7pm. Makes it really difficult to do dinner and movie when the last show is at 7pm. The other issue the popcorn. Despite the fact that it's only $5 for a large with free refills, it's always burned. If you are willing to go back and forth, all the sizes of popcorn and drinks all have free refills which is nice. Overall, I think the town of Beloit deserves a better theater. Because this place is now permanently closed. In past times, before theaters required a wet bar, luxury box seating, a concierge and valet parking (I exaggerate, though such things must exist) etc, this place was probably the go to theater in the area. I came because it was cheap. It had the base requirements that a cinema needed: The Movie. Popcorn. Soda. Bathroom. That's it. 5 screens was nice as well. Send the kiddies into the romper room G movie, and watch Bruce Willis when he still had a hairline do something implausible. At that point in time this place wasn't the cheapest option. But it was adequate. When the Big box theaters corporations arrived, they died or adapted. Sadly C19 as well as unnecessary necessity from entitled mommies daddies and their spoiled offspring forced another piece of history down the memory shitter. Way to go people. Truth be told, I'm sort of guilty as well, but it wasn't because of the frivolous luxuries, it was because of Netflix etc.
