It is clean, modern, inviting. Very competitive pricing, too. I have introduced many of my friends to Goli and they all rave about her haircutting, colouring, styling, and esthetics skills, as well :) Goli is a superb hair-dresser!! She listens to what your needs are, studies the shape of your face, and is fast. All three of my kids(Ages 13, 9, and 7 when started having their hair cut by Goli) enjoy going to Goli as she is very caring and kind. Very good with kids. Unfortunately, a very white woman with very white hair tends to look like Casper the Pissy Ghost, so I needed to warm it up a bit. I did a little research and choose Kazen to do the work. My stylist, Alissa Fougere, listened to my objectives - warm the color, make sure it's low maintenance and recognize that I have the hair styling ability of a dairy farmer - and she delivered EXACTLY what I needed and wanted. How often does that happen??? I was thrilled! It looks fabulous and I couldn't be happier. Based on this experience, I'm a true convert and will now use parking lots for parking instead of ill advised ad hoc haircuts. If you've lost faith in hair salons or just like working with professionals to achieve optimum results, try Kazen and the lovely Ms.Fougere. After talking to different hair and makeup artists, we booked Kazen to do the hair and makeup for me, my bridesmaids, my flower girl, and my mom. They were easy to communicate and correspond with. Kazen did such an awesome job! I absolutely loved my hair and makeup, and they were also within my budget. Initially, I was a little worried since I couldn't do a test hair and makeup with Kazen prior to my wedding since we were arriving to Victoria the day before the wedding. I was worried that my sensitive skin would be irritated by the makeup or that the foundation would look cakey. However, I didn't need to worry because the Kazen team again was awesome!! The foundation they applied on all our faces did not look cakey at all, and it blended well with my skin color. I was going for a more natural look, and the makeup they used matched what I wanted. In addition, all the makeup photographed well (unlike the makeup I had for my wedding reception back at home which made my face look pale white while my neck was all dark). For my hair, I showed them pictures of what style I was looking for, and they delivered. I loved my hair and makeup, and it made my wedding day so much better! Not only did the Kazen team come punctually, they finished on time (which is really important in weddings to not fall behind schedule). They were professionals from the beginning to the end. I would recommend them to anyone, especially if you want to find a hair and makeup artist for your wedding. Definitely, book them!

I feel slightly bad for writing this review because I feel that lavish is a very nice salon but…read morethat my hair experience there could have been better. I went there yesterday morning on the hunt for a professional to fix my disastrous highlights that were Orange yellow and Brown. I decided to not damage my hair any more than I had to but to let someone fix it so I could repair it from then on. I was greeted by a really nice receptionist who said there was a stylist availible right then. I met Angela who was very bubbly and pleasant. I discussed how I got into the hair predicament I was in and what I wanted to be done. She seemed to be on the same page of what I wanted, lighter ends darker base. I expressed that I didn't want really dark hair because my boyfriend doesn't find dark hair attractive and I want to be comfortable going from brassy strawberry blonde to a brown colour. She said what I needed was a Victoria Secret look and I was sold. She proceeded to apply a dark brown colour on my roots , but then surprised me when she began to apply it all over my hair. I thought she might leave my already light ends and focal highlights alone instead of dying and then bleaching them again. I felt that this would damage my hair considerably more, but she promised it wouldn't. As she applied the bleach she would pull apart my colour coated strands of hair and I knew then my hair was ripping. After waiting another hour or so , she rinsed me out and began to cut and style. The hair cut went well, she only cut my severely damaged ends and gave me more layers for volume. Then came the part that I felt was completely unnecessary. When styling someone, most hairdressers might consider that if your clients hair is clearly over processed and ripping because of excessive damage that they may have to be very gentle and light handed when brushing. I found Angela to be aggressive in her techniques and she seemed to be rushing because of an appointment she had arriving soon. I felt awkward and uncomfortable as she was yanking my hair so hard that my head was literally being pulled toward her. oddly enough as she was ripping my hair she mentioned that I may need to "baby" my hair which made me think why isn't she taking this into consideration? She dropped her brushes multiple times and even hit me in the head with the blowdryer. Needless to say my hair looked frizzy, dry and off. She tried to make my hair look less damaged by curling it half handedly, but it came out as a slight wave. The apron came off and I felt my hair. it felt almost worse than when I came in , and when I was shown the back of my head I noticed the bad placement of a lone light brown highlight. I paid the 168$ and did not tip as a way of saying I did not enjoy more than half of my experience, and when I got home I made sure to deep condition and promised from then on to always fix my hair disasters at home .

I haven't had my eyebrows waxed in years because they are usually just fine on their own. But I wanted it to have a tiny bit more curve. I knew exactly which two very small areas needed to be waxed for that to happen and asked for that when I made the appointment. And also re-told them when I was there seconds before the wax even touched my skin. I wanted the ends completely left alone because they were already pretty thin by themselves. The middle between my eyebrows was no hair, hardly ANY peach fuzz at all. Well, it was the middle and the ends that got waxed and now I have TWO LINES straight across and down rather than a beautiful arch. /-- --\ they look like this!!!! I'm so upset. Then, also, I was being stared at while using my debit card and I felt like I HAD to give a tip. I gave the lowest amount on the screen but didn't even want to pay anything because it was 100% opposite of what I asked for. I will never again trust someone to do what I am wanting done when I can just do it myself. This is ridiculous.

After a few hours in the chair I came out with the most amazing cut and colour and couldn't be happier. The salon is quiet and relaxed and all the stylists were kind and lovely. I saw one of their senior stylists to fix a previous colour job I wasn't too happy with…read more The stylist at Shampoo Hair Bar was knowledgeable and helpful. She listened to my concerns, peppered me with questions about what I wanted, and then told me her suggestions/opinions. 2 hours later I emerged from the salon with incredibly natural-looking and gorgeous hair that I am very happy with. The positive results are honestly a restatement to her knowledge, experience and good rapport with her customers. But the positive experience extended beyond the senior stylist's work. For part of the process I was temporarily handed to a more junior stylist (my hair was taking longer than the appointment time - so the senior stylist had to take care of her next client). The junior stylist was able to take over after just a few short instructions, was incredibly pleasant to chat with, and helped make this colour job a success. I can't emphasize enough that you will be in good hands if you go to the shampoo hair bar. All the people in the salon seemed happy and -in my opinion - were getting their hair done in ways which really suited them.
