The steak itself is prepared good but I asked for medium and it was over cooked to medium well. Tonight I took a take away rib eye and it was cooked to perfection... The venue itself is nice. There is outside seating and a small bar. The menu is just like Texas road house. The cuts of meat are USDA. I was surprised because most of Asia uses Austria. Outside in the seating area there is a pool but I think it's for hotel guest only. Plenty of tables outside and inside Definitely a good spot to get a steak!

DINING OUT DURING A PANDEMIC:…read more We've been extending our wedding anniversary celebration and decided to try the breakfast here. Things don't always turn out the way that you plan, but that's not always bad. Our temps were scanned at the front door of the hotel; face masks and shields are mandatory. Hubby signed us in, then a lovely masked cowgirl/server opened the door to the restaurant and greeted us. I chose a table outside, requesting the ceiling fan to be turned on. We took our time perusing the menu and decided against breakfast, instead we ordered: - Cafe mocha - made from Brazilian coffee beans. This was good. - Corn Fritters made fresh and covered in powdered sugar. Always a winner YUM! - Crab cakes - Oh my! This was delish! Made with fresh crab with a light crisp exterior topped with mango relish - New York Nachos topped with sirloin chunks, chili con carne, pico de gallo, cheese and jalapeños. Comes with sour cream and guacamole (not up to the standard of California avocados) - I make my own chili con carne from scratch, so I wasn't fond of their version, but hubby ate it up! - Blackened Chicken sandwich with smoked bacon - delicious soft bun, thick cut bacon, it had good flavor. American size portions (not tiny Filipino size) with prices that are reasonable, considering the high quality of their ingredients. Also don't be afraid to make requests: they have corn fritters and a cafe mocha that aren't not on the menu. Servers actually come by and asked "How's your food?", this is the first time I've ever heard anyone here in the Philippines ask that! If you need anything, you just need to give the servers a knowing glance, and they'll quickly come. They're always close by keeping an eye out for you. FYI: the standard around the Philippines is that the servers won't check in on you unless you need them. That's why many places have call buttons, or the staff stand around waiting for you to call them. What a beautiful place for a relaxing poolside meal, listening to Kenny G working his magic on the saxophone, and the soothing sound of the rain in the background: I've found foodie heaven.

The first time I visited Matam Ih, I was expecting singing waiters dressed in native costumes:…read moresadly that is a thing of the past. Their main attraction now is their exotic dishes: goat, frog, mole cricket, crocodile, and even ostrich. My cousins were visiting from out of town, a couple of them even came all the way from the Middle East! They wanted to eat Kapampangan food, so naturally, I brought them here. Before entering, we had to show them our Covid vaccine certificates then we were led to a long table that would accommodate our big group. Dining is al fresco so no air con, just fans. We excitedly ordered the following: - Mango shake was good - Pinapaitang Kambing - goat in bile soup. I'm not a fan of pinapaitan in the first place; but my Ilocano dad would love this. Much better with a squeeze of kalamansi. - Kamaru - mole crickets. The crickets still had some crunch to them and were cooked in a delicious garlic soy based sauce. This was everyone's favorite dish. - Betute - field frogs stuffed with minced pork and deep fried. I didn't try this. - Fried Hito (catfish) with buru (fermented rice) - loved the catfish but didn't like the buru. - Pork sisig was ok. - Leche Flan was ok - Turon with home made buko ice cream was DELISH!!!!! The wait staff were dressed as safari guides. They were knowledgeable of their menu, which made ordering easier. After we enjoyed our meal, we walked over to The Paris Cafe to take pictures in front of a replica of the Eiffel tower. The Wooden Table and Cafe BOM are also located in the same compound. My family had a great time, I'm sure we'll be back to try their other exotic offerings.

I expected the prices to be much higher for such amazing quality of food. Cheryl was such a gracious host with such welcoming hospitality. Thank you so much for a delightful dinner!
