We are here now at a tent site #12 , which is along the dirt road everyone uses to enter and exit the campground so there were headlights and cars driving past us every night which was annoying when trying to sleep so I would recommend a site away from the road for sure and not near the entrance as we r , we picked this campground due to it being the closest w/ electric and water to Stowe since my nephew is getting married at the Stoweflake Resort this is a much more affordable way to stay than the $250 a night motel w/ 2 night minimum...so for $70 for 2 nights because it was $5 more a night due to the annual antique car show they have in Stowe every year so it would of been cheaper another wkend , we were very happy to find this place . It's very open with a brook along the back of where we r , There is shade and scattered trees and open grassy sites and very pretty ,The rest rooms and playground are out dated but kept very clean and and functional.. no showers allowed after 10 pm ?? There's a laundry room with 1 washer and dryer , a pool which we didn't use at the entrance of the campground we didn't have time to use since we were with our family all day at Stoweflake resort ,It's like a 10 min car ride to the resort . I would definitely recommend this campground, it's very nice and in a great location and Niomi was really nice when I checked in ... I didnt have the pleasure of meeting the grumpy man all others have mentioned and our stay was pleasant, Just get a site away from the main route and the road coming in and you'll be happy ! Go in back where you'll have some peace and quiet ..also people got louder in the night like yelling voices but it didn't last too long .. This is a nice campground u should def stay here if your in the area , I took lots of pics enjoy !

Check-in at the store where you will find souveniers, cold beverages, firewood, toys, pet supplies…read moreand some food items. Car and RV parking is in front of the building. A gate code is needed to access the campground. We rented a cabin here. There are four. Two of them are 'deluxe' and have indoor cook tops. The others do not allow indoor cooking and have grills outside. The kitchen was very well kitted with everything you could need. The Deluxe cabin we rented was decorated in a cabin style with bear and moose motif items. A table for two in the kitchen, a couch for two or three and a nice rocker. A small desk is in the corner of the livingroom with a kitchen chair for seating. Hooks for coats and a place for shoes by the door. The gas fireplace is shut off in the summer because the pilot heats up the cabin. They are on from Septemer 1st. The bedroom has a queen bed, (linens and blankets provided) full dresser, bedside tables, another kitchen chair (a total of four in the cabin) and luggage rack. Two narrow closets included hangers, extra pillows and towels for the pool or hot tub. Three quarter bath was well maintained. Two bath towels and one hand towel. Hand soap on vanity. Hair dryer and extra TP under sink. Shelves for toiletries. Clothes hook on back of door. Two seats and a table are on the front porch. Our parking space was in front of the porch. A picnic table and firepit are to the right of the porch, at the end of the parking space. Our porch faced the gravel road into the campground. The campground is tiered from the road down to the river with camper spots on each tier. No spots are directly on the river. A field designated as a dog exercise area is next to the river, then a small, rocky beach to the river. The road noise is heard throughout the campground, even at the brook where the river babbles over the stones, which is very pleasant. The onsite store rents tubes for riding the river. A path to the left of the dog area ends where you can put the tube in the water, ride it to the end of the beach and repeat the process. Laundry, public bathrooms and shower bathrooms are in a newer, climate controlled building near the playground. A pass code is needed to enter. Two pools and a hot tub are near the office/store. Mini-golf is behind the store. Dump station on the way out near the dumpsters. Gravel roads are maintained. Some site have full hook-up, fire pit and picnic table. Very pet friendly.

They email you when you have a package arrive in the office. The office has a variety of beverages and other small things you might need including ice. Patrick although he was extremely busy and worked, I think seven days a week made time to stop and chitchat with everybody.

Info to note: -It's closed from some time in the fall until about April. Not sure whether they have set dates or go by the weather. -there are only two stalls in the women's bathhouse, so I assume the same is true for the men, and the bathhouse has no heat or A/C. -the showers are coin operated: 25¢/5 minutes. One can pre-pay for multiple 5-minute increments at a time. -Shower water temp was easily adjustable, got nice and hot, and stayed that way for 20 minutes! -There are outlets in the bathhouse, e.g. for a hairdryer.

The campground was completely quiet and directions to our site had been left for us on the bulletin board at the camp office. We easily found our site, used the very clean restrooms, and fell asleep to the hooting of an owl. Next morning, we had a quick conversation with the campground manager who was raking up apples - the area seems to have been an apple orchard in the past. Very friendly. Campground was still fairly quiet, although we talked to a few other campers, and the restrooms were still clean. We didn't stay long, as we had to get on our way again, but our trip will take us back there for the last night, and will be glad to stay there again.
