We booked a Gold Cab Taxi the day before at 4 AM for our 5:40 AM flight, which started boarding at 5 AM The driver arrived right on time, help us with our suitcases, brought us up to date on restaurants and other happenings, drove responsibly, and helped us out of the cab. All in all, terrific service. We previously booked the day before another trip with different taxi company which forgot to mark down our reservation. We were relieved that Gold Cab worked so well. The owner verbally harassed me at work because I wouldn't sign off on slips for rides to the airport so they could get paid from the hotel I worked at. They were suppose to get them signed by the staff member at the time they pick up. They didn't, and brought me a pile of them to sign in the middle of the night(since I worked overnight). I refused so the owner got super mad and said he was going to get me fired and held the door closed so I couldn't leave, he pulled it shut and kept his hand on it. There was video and my hotel did nothing. The owner then proceeded to call and harass and curse me out. I told my manager the next day that I didn't feel right signing off for rides I didn't see happen. They seem like an all white drivers, no diversity. I think the owner seems like he likes it that way. I don't use business or companies that would never hire someone who looked like me. read more

Interesting cab company. Sometimes available early morning for airport pick ups if you call the night before but it's very hot or miss. The drivers like to chat a lot. Some might find them kind of odd, but at 3:45 am, anyone working a cab nowadays is going to be quite the character. read more

Oh, that's right, there's a thing called a cab ;-) In S.B. app based transportation is not always the best option; in regards to price and availabiity. I tried those options first, and couldn't get a ride for a while. Looked up Yelp reviews on cabs, Gold Cab got a good review, called them, friendly guy answered, told me when the driver would arrive. I used to love using their corteous service, but it seems that has gone out the door as of Fiesta time, They have turned SO rude! Called in around 2 pm, told me it would be picking me up in 20 minutes. So, ok, we GO outside to wait for the cab because they were always on time before. Nothing, no one showed up nor called or texted. OK, so we called again, and the guy who answered was rude and told us that it would take another 15 minutes. We waited for 30, and still no show. so we call again, and the guy tells us the cab was waiting for us ten twelve minutes outside our house. How is that possible if we were waiting outside? when I told him he probably went to the wrong house, and asked WHY didn't he text or call us? HE hung up on us. NEVER AGAIN WILL WE USE GOLD CAB. I was walking in a parking lot and one of their drivers decided to reverse into me. After I asked him if he saw me, he said he didn't have to, and that I should watch where I am walking. I took the info of the cab and I told him I was calling him in. He told me to F off and that they don't care. Guess what, he was right. I called in and they said thanks and hung up. No info taken. Arriving late at night at the Goleta Amtrak train depot, I wanted to be assured of a prompt, safe ride to my nearby hotel and felt more comfortable trusting a reputable local cab company over a rideshare app. Gold Cab Taxi had good reviews here on Yelp and so I gave them a call to make arrangements. Phil answered quickly and let me know he could pick me up at the train's planned arrival time. Due to delays along the way, my train ended up arriving quite late. I stayed in touch with Phil along the way and was very pleased that I had made arrangements for him to pick me up given the very late hour. He drove up just as I arrived at the depot's pickup spot, stowed my suitcase for me, and quickly and professionally delivered me to my hotel. I certainly recommend Gold Cab Taxi and I will definitely use them any time I need a cab in future. Oh, and for comparison, Lyft's quoted price was the same as Gold Cab's. read more

This cab company really is the best! Wayne was a few minutes early picking me up -- at 5am! We got to the airport in loads of time, after a pleasant conversation. The prices are high but service was excellent.At the last min, we needed a taxi for our 92-year-old wedding guest. She is wheelchair bound and requires assistance in and out of the car. The driver was very accommodating to her and her staff. He even loaded her wheel chair into his trunk for the staff. They picked her up on time and got her to the wedding early. At the end of the ceremony, they picked her back up and took her home. She does not have a cell phone let alone a computer to use sites like Uber or Lift, thank god we still have taxi services! read more

Didn't even have to use this service to know that it is low on my list. Was at a traffic light with the cab behind me and the turn light for the traffic didn't change for 3 lights (it needed to reset) and he was screaming at me to run the light. He also got out of the cab and raved at the man behind him to back up so he could go around and go through the light in the other lane. The man didn't. I always go with cabs instead of uber because I find them more dependable and I think they are insured much better. Just a better option. I am willing to pay the price if my life depends on it! Anywho, after calling around a bunch of companies who couldn't drive me for a ten am ride this morning, which I found quite ridiculous, a nice gentleman answered. The answer was YES. Prompt service right away. He even knew when the train was coming. From what I see on here I'm 99.9 percent sure he'll come on time.
