Unfortunately the contractor decided to place the gas line and valve to the pit within the masonry work, leaving no way to access the line should the need arise. Flash forward to about a week and a half ago, and the valve in my backyard fire pit became stripped and was no longer opening or closing with they key. I am a DIY guy 95% of the time, but I am not about to go messing around with a gas line, so I called a local fire place shop to ask about repairs. They told me the job required a plumber and recommended Lloyd's Plumbing service. I called Lloyd's, left a message and... never heard back. After a couple days I searched on my own and found Gallegos Plumbing. I called them and asked about an estimate. The gentleman told me there was no charge to have someone come out I had an appointment scheduled for the next day. The communication throughout the entire process was spectacular. Within a couple minutes of hanging up the phone, I had already received an email and text confirming my pending appointment, and even had a reminder email and text the next day. Bill Jeffries was the gentleman who came to my house. He called me to let me know he was on his way and also asked me about the issue I was having with my fire pit so he could be as prepared as possible. He showed up on time and was very friendly. He took a look at my fire pit, spent time answering my questions, and walked me through three different solutions that could work. He was honest and transparent about the estimated costs for each potential solution, which I appreciated. But seeing the concerned look on my face, knowing that I was looking at a higher cost than expected due to how my fire pit was built, Bill offered a fourth solution that I could try myself, and walked me through how he would do it. In my experience, this just doesn't happen these days. Bill was genuinely interested in helping me figure out my problem and not just looking to make some money. After 30 minutes of his time, he gave me his card, shook my hand, told me to call if I needed anything, and bid me a good afternoon. I was left with no charge for the time or the visit, and a potential solution to my problem that I can try myself for the cost of a few tools and an afternoon. Gallegos Plumbing came through huge, and I feel that their service and expertise is second to none. Bill was extremely professional, friendly, and listened to me. I will most certainly be calling Gallegos Plumbing in the future for all my my plumbing needs, as mine was a great first experience. I am glad I found them, and I would recommend them to anyone needing plumbing service in their home. It's hard to find good, honest, hard-working businesses these days who put their customers first, but Gallegos Plumbing is one of those few. Highly recommended, and I can't say thank you enough.

The first company that came out charged me $99 for an inspection and estimate and claimed that I needed to replace all my vents (switching from single-wall to double-wall). Pablo, however, explained that this was unnecessary -- he could redo sections and install a new cap on the roof for about a quarter of the other company's estimate. During my research, I also considered installing a tankless water heater to avoid dealing with vents altogether and obtained estimates for that option. Pablo offered to install a high-quality tankless at a reasonable price, while other companies suggested lower-quality units at equal or higher prices. I decided to accept Pablo's bid and am glad I did, because he provided excellent work. I really appreciate his reasonable pricing and straightforward approach. He also responded to my request quickly and went out the same day to inspect the issue and completed the work the following morning.

But when we needed to change out an old bathroom vanity for a new one, we knew we had to get serious about it. And if you hire a plumber to do the work, which DOES involve some plumbing, then it costs way more. I resigned myself to the search and literally just contacted the most popular handyman service in my town based on Yelp reviews. Guess what? thank goodness I did! 805's Handyman (NOT to be confused with "805 Handyman") responded right away--even though it was a Sunday and the World Cup games were on. I uploaded pics, sent in the details, got an estimate, and made an appointment. On the day of, a nice truck drove up with the logo painted proudly on the side (not a guy in a fancy sports car, like handyman #9). Two sturdy guys came in and got down to business right away--no fuss, all smiles, and dare I say it? Like they loved what they do. (Unlike handyman #7 who was a former engineer and complained the whole time, even refusing to do some tasks!) Long story shorter, the bathroom vanity switcheroo turned out to be bigger and messier project than expected. It ended up involving some retiling, grouting, electrical adjustments, alterations to trim, painting--and the plumbing bits and installation and removal. The workers were quiet, helpful, communicated the whole time and were just generally old-school excellent (unlike handyman #4, who was nice, but got everything crooked and a bit wonky, bless his heart). The 805's Handyman workers did ALL the plumbing/installing/electrical/tile work/painting--the whole shebang. And the end result is a sweet transformation for our upstairs bath (I also asked them to take care of a few more items on my to-do list, which they did quickly and again, with smiles). The whole thing was very gratifying. So much so, that the next time something in our house needs fixing, I will actually look forward to hiring 805's Handyman again. We're lucky to have them in the Ventura area and they are popular on Yelp for very good reasons.

They worked around my schedule which was appreciated and followed through without issue. I had them work on an outdoor electrical/lighting fixtures and Patrick did it with ease. He came with all his supplies and was prepared, he swapped out my old, ugly lighting fixtures and put in the new ones no issue. He was careful but prompt with getting this task complete. Very nice guy and someone you could trust and who did a honest thorough job. Aside from doing great work and being professional, the price point was also very reasonable compared to ten other quotes I got (yes, I do my research). I swear Dean is the most patient (no pressure) sales guy I've ever met. Yo say he is thorough is an understatement. He carefully looks at all information available from the types of systems to the pros and cons of each and tailors them to the individual's requirements. The best part is he doesn't oversell you on things you don't need. In my case I wanted a system to eventually be ready for an electric car. Dean wisely advised not to buy the extra pieces now when they would be of no value to me, but ensured my system would be ready for upgrades when I was ready. Since our initial install we have upgraded our system on 3 occasions, each time carefully planned out to maximize the value of the equipment and to get the best bang for the buck. In short if I could give 10 stars I would. If you are interested in learning about solar give them a call. You won't be sorry.

THANK YOU!!! Gold Coast Plumbing and Rooter (of Ventura, California)!! You saved us!! On August 1, 2017, we started having sewage back up into the house. We called 2 different plumbing and rooter companies who had multiple full page yellow book ads to evaluate and estimate the situation. THE FIRST COMPANY came out and stated that we needed a whole new sewer line out to the street and estimated OVER $10,000. THE SECOND COMPANY came out and tried to snake the issue from the toilet line, EVEN AFTER they learned that we had back to back toilets and HE KNEW that the angle of that pipe would not allow the snake cable to go down the main sewer pipe. The guy actually admitted, after the snaking the toilet, that he suspected that snaking duel / back to back toilets would not work for our sewer issue because the "Y" fitting that duel toilets have. That company still charged almost $200 for trying something THEY KNEW WOULD NOT WORK... UNETHICAL... CROOKS! Frustrated, we THEN called a friend who was a retired plumber, Clyde Smith, (we should have called him first) and he told us to avoid the big full page ad companies, as they over charge to pay for their ads. He then said to call LOGAN SMITH, CLYDE'S GRANDSON, at GOLD COAST PLUMBING AND ROOTER, because he had worked with Logan in the past and knew him to be fair (read ethical), hardworking, and competent. Our retired plumber was right! We called Logan on that FRIDAY NIGHT and even though Logan was booked, he promised to send someone to at least temporarily clear the line until Logan could come out on that next Monday to evaluate whether we needed to replace the line or not. SATURDAY, Logan sent Joe, who came out on a blazing hot / humid day to clear the line. Joe worked hard and suffered in the heat for almost 2.5 hours snaking our line out to the street. JOE, YOU ARE AWESOME!! Our line was cleared and we were able to take a shower!! Monday, Logan came out and used their special camera to show me the inside of the pipe. Yes, the tree roots had burrowed into the sewer line and yes the line needed to be fixed. Logan explained that doing trench-less line replacement was doable and in the long run, far less expensive than open trenching or repeatedly rotor-rooting for years to come. Logan and the guys who did the job were VERY NICE. They pulled the permits needed, efficiently and competently did the job, cleaned up after themselves, and as promised... our front yard was not destroyed. Best of all: Gold Coast Plumbing finished the whole job for LESS THAN HALF THE PRICE of the first big ad company AND far more ethical than the second company!! Our experience with Gold Coast Plumbing was FANTASTIC!! YES!! WE VERY MUCH RECOMMEND and WILL USE Gold Coast Plumbing AGAIN for other plumbing needs! Have employed Gold Coast Plumbing & Rooter three times: 1) install two ADA compliant toilets; 2) install tankless water heater; 3) install a drip pan for 2nd floor washing machine. I have nothing but praise and respect for Gold Coast employees - especially Aaron. Appointments easy to schedule, on time both for estimates & installations, fair/reasonable prices (actually got a slight cost saving when a supplier over quoted). Installation finished and cleanup afterward completely done. Needed a temperature adjustment on water heater - Gold Coast came out, no problem, and no charge. I highly recommend using Gold Coast Plumbing!!! Logan showed up within a couple hours of my call to use a camera in my drains. We ended up replacing all the drains under the foundation and the main sewer line outside. The price was very reasonable. Logan and Mike went out of their way to keep the inside of the house clean during all the demolition!!! Since I have 2 young kids, they made sure we could use the drains at the end of each day. After the Leak Detection service gave me the good news that it could likely be fixed at the meter, Robert came later in the afternoon, looked at it, gave me a quote on the spot and fixed it within an hour+. As I had to leave for an appointment, he called when done, sent pictures via text, and explained the fix.
