Took my RE associate course with Carlos Suarez and passed with flying colors. The course and the teacher receive five stars. I'm knocking off two stars due to the poor experience I had with the front desk staff on two occasions. Came in to ask where the classroom for my cram was and was responded to with sarcasm and rude remarks such as me "not making her life easy" because I did not have my badge. A badge that is made of paper, does not have a picture and can be easily replicated. I offered my REAL government ID in lieu of this and was again responded to with sarcasm. All of this for her to tell me: "I'm going to do you a favor" and just simply give me a temporary badge after she still did not even look at my REAL ID so I quite literally could have been anyone. At the time of doing my fingerprints, this same woman had the same rude, poor, sarcastic attitude and it's uncalled for. This class is $500, not free. You're not 'doing me a favor' and you're not going to deny me entering my class because I forgot a paper badge that doesn't even have my PICTURE ON IT. Meanwhile, everyone else WALKS IN the building, goes to the classroom and sits down with no badge being asked for lol. Makes 0 sense. Please train your staff better. Customer service is KEY and my great experience with the class was ruined by this woman. read more

Good evening, Overall, I think that Gold Coast is an excellent school. However, I am very disappointed with the results I received on my test today. I do understand that this may appear like I am not taking responsibility for my score, but it is much more than that and I am not one to make excuses. The amount of students that pass after taking Rich's class is far lower than Keith and Marylin (I'm not sure if I spelled her name correctly) and that leaves a lot of questions in my head. I'm retaking the one week class Monday Keith and regret not looking into teacher reviews first. I left each class more confused than the previous day because so much time in class was spent hearing irrelevant stories that were repeated over and over again and he would never answer class questions directly. "Just do the online test questions," was the ONLY advise given to us or he'd rush through giving us answers to a question we had. Concepts were not thoroughly explained as to how they pertain to real estate and if I had to estimate how much time was taken to thoroughly explain concepts per four hour class, I would say 1.5 hours. How many times do we need to hear about Texas, why oil is going up, the girl that sells boat slips at a Marina, why taking roll is so important (at least 4 times a class, every single class), stopping EVERY SINGLE time someone walks in or out of the room. I cannot express to you how many times sentences were cut off to make a joke, say bye, say hello, remind us to put our name on the board, etc. Is Rich a great person, it seems so. However, his teaching style is extremely difficult to follow and the pass rate is too low for me to find what happened today acceptable. Now, I would have addressed this earlier, but I had NO IDEA that I would be taking an exam with test questions that made hardly any sense to me. The state requires 63 hours of class time, an in-class exam pass and a state exam pass, however, I would have passed with more than a 90 had I gotten a personal tutor and ignored all of the lectures. Many of the students failed under Rich's instruction (or were on round two), while Marylin's class students received 90's or better and her pass rate is 89%? The students from Marylin's class felt sorry for us. I am very serious about my career, am on hold with the brokerage firm I was to start with and now it's back to the drawing board? I am a two time college graduate with honors and embarrassed by the entire experience and am highly disappointed that I had not read YELP prior to registering. I would have chosen a different instructor or gone to the night class. What am I missing here? -- Not a happy camper. read more

Generally I'm not a fan of school. I tend to get the feeling that I will learn more from the textbooks than the classroom, because my attention wanders and I get bored. That was before I took a course with Keith Grandy. I took the 1 week real estate sales associate course with Keith. This was about 8 classroom hours a day for a solid 7 days straight. The time flew by. Keith was both funny and informative. Keith took what appeared to be dry and boring subject matter and spun it into gold. Five stars truly aren't enough. I attended the 63 hour RE prelicensure course and enjoyed every second of it. Keith Grandy is by far the best instructor I've ever come across. He's knowledgeable, personable, and extremely funny. The 63 hours flew by. I was able to pass the end of course exam on the first try because of Mr. Grandy. It was definitely worth the time and money. Additionally, I took the weekend CRAM with Henderson and passed my state exam in a little over an hour. I signed up for the 1 week 63-hour real estate associate pre license course not knowing too much about real estate, and walked out of there Sunday evening after my exam extremely satisfied with the knowledge acquired from our amazing instructor Keith Grandy. Let me tell you, the man knows his stuff! He has awesome stories me examples of practically every single topic covered in our book. His humor and charisma kept us all engaged from 9am-5:30pm every day. I highly recommend Keith Grandy for this class. I was advised that if I walked into class Monday morning and Mr. Grandy was not at the front of the class, to simply walk out and sign up for the next one. Boy was that accurate! It's great to see someone that loves what they do so much and are willing to pass their knowledge and experience over to us. read more

If you want to take a real estate class and learn, I would strongly advise finding another program other than the Gold Coast 1 week course. I had a 75 year old instructor that was very nice but spent more time talking about his family and his life experiences then teaching the course material in an abbreviated time frame. I spoke to many students in the class & they felt the same way. Unprepared for the exam but we can tell you about his marriage of 43 years & he's a widower, lived in Jamaica, from Canada, etc. and he spends an aweful lot of time at Publix. Gold Coast, if you think this is not true, look at the initial class enrollment then the class completion percentage for the 1 week class that just finished (by the posting date you can tell who the instructor was & class). I feel like I wasted $500 for a text book to have to really learn myself..... STICK TO THE MATERIAL!!! THAT'S WHAT PEOPLE PAID FOR!!! Also, if you want honest evaluations, do not have the students fill it out with the instructor right in front of them with your name on the evaluation... read more

The instructors are great. The class rooms are clean. Nothing fancy but it is a good learning environment. I do have 2 complaints. First the restrooms are disgusting and the hallways smell like the restrooms. My second complaint is that the office staff leaves too early for the afternoon classes. read more

"Highlight, highlight, highlight." This was all I heard during my first of 12 plus classes. I thought my god, I'm going to be in class 2-3 hours every Tuesday for 3 months...coloring. It grew on me. And Frank, the highly animated instructor, will surely keep you awake. Sure, there's a lot of highlighting, but there is classroom study as well. The goal of the school, at least for the general contracting classes, is to prepare you to pass the tests. It comes full circle when you take the practice exams. One full weekend each month, at each location (I think), they offer a cram session. It's 3 hours of testing, a lunch break and then 4+ hours of explanation. For me these cram sessions are the cat's ass. So far so good. I'm halfway there. If I pass the trade portion in a couple of weeks, they'll get 5 stars. read more

I have no word to express how happy I am. I took the online real estate associate course, which I won't lie, it was a challenge at my age to study on my own. I didn't do to good and nothing seemed to stick. But when I went and took my cram course with professor Paolo Lusardi it was a different story. I've obtained my CAM, Frec 1 real estate & post license real estate courses with GC. I have to say... Post license Real Estate with RAY CLEMENTE was an exceptional experience. He is the man. I took the 5 day, 9am-6pm schedule and NOT ONCE did I feel lost or over buried with confusion. If you even look like you are unsure about something he will definitely go over it again. (Which is so awesome because sometimes people are embarrass or shy to say so) he provides examples over and over where it's easy to match the items to remember. He's more than nice about lunch which is appreciated. Not once did I feel like it was a drag to attend class and he opened a vision in me with real estate which I am so grateful for. RAY you are awesome! GC: my only critic is the bathrooms.... After 11am, none of the paper towel dispenser work. (Only for the spacious bathroom to the far right) the trash are overloaded and paper all over the floor. Witnessed this all five days this week. Today, 9.23.16 being the 5th day. I just finished the real estate pre-licensing month long course and passed my class exam with a 95 - the highest score in my class. I am writing this review because I feel that my success was due in great part to the instruction of the Doral location, evening teacher, Paolo Lusardi. Yes, you will have many educational materials and resources to use during your personal time, and I suggest you utilize them. Study, study, study every chance you get. But for me, the most important resource was having a teacher that engages the students and who is witty, funny, and genuinely cares for their students' success. Gold Coast Schools Real Estate course is very comprehensive. You are given a large text book, and have access to a separate booklet glossary of real estate terms (ask for this in the front office if your teacher doesn't provide it for you). You also have access to online chapter reviews and chapter questions and answers, as well as 18 youtube videos on math. I feel like 18 hours is not enough by a mile. Too much material to cover in such a short time. There is no real time left for discussion and real world examples. The instructor did a great job considering the challenge of covering 17 chapters in so little time. We ended up rushing over so much. I understand that it's simply to get us a pass on the state exam but so much material in such a short period of time really doesn't do the industry any favors. I really liked the Doral facility except one thing. Those chairs are the cheapest made in China chairs ever bought. There isn't a comfortable way to sit. You might as well be sitting on plywood with iron backs. For the amount of money that your facility makes, we should have more comfortable chairs. Everyone in the class complained about their comfort level regarding the chairs. I won't go to any more courses at that location. I'll scope out the others to make sure I can sit comfortably for an entire day. read more
