Our 3.5 year old daughter needed some help clearing up her speech and we had an incredible experience with Dawn. From our very first session with Dawn I knew we were going to find success - our slow to warm child was giggling and engaged with the exercises. I am so grateful to therapists Alison and Monika who worked with my then-2yo to improve her speech. Our experience has been exemplary! Over 12 months, we started first with Monika, who taught me many nuances and techniques that I never would have thought of on my own. Alison picked up the baton and has worked seamlessly with my kiddo, making deeper observations and corrections through engaging play and plenty of grace and kindness. I can honestly say that my kid, who just turned 3 and has graduated from speech therapy, is much more advanced in her speech and vocabulary than her peers, and I give massive credit to the SLPs for this leap in development. Our experience so far with Gold Speech has been outstanding. We've worked with two of their therapists (first Christina de Quero and now we have weekly sessions scheduled with SLP Annie Galiani). Both have been caring and professional in their communications with us. I've personally learned many useful ideas and techniques. Our child is sometimes shy, but they clearly know how to be gentle, animated and engaging all at the same time. During COVID they've been working outside and have shown the utmost flexibility. Even when we moved homes within the Bay Area, they offered different scheduling options to make it work. We reached out to Dawn to provide speech therapy for my 2.5 year old who was having expressive speech delay. In such a short time, she has already made great progress, and even her teachers at school have commented. Dawn is great with kids- she keeps my daughter engaged for our entire 45 minute sessions (not an easy task with a toddler!), and always finds ways to make the session fun for her. Our speech therapist was Alison. Our daughter was three years old and was having issues saying more then three words at a time. We placed our trust with Alison, and she became a figure in our daughter's life. Our daughter would "squeel" in happiness when she'd knock on our door and immediately sit and say, "game..." Alison was assuring, confident and showed great patience with a three year old who wasn't used to focusing on a single task for so long. I cannot say enough about Alison's work. Ally has been working with our 3-year-old son Jasper since Feb. Ally is patient, empathetic and passionate with the work. She follows Jasper's lead, and encourages him to engage/communicate in a natural environment. She was generous with her time and expertise in doing so, and suggested that we also have him evaluated for autism spectrum disorder based on some of the information we shared. We used Gold Speech for speech therapy with our ASD son (started at around 22 months old). Annie was fabulous! She worked with us in the backyard (pandemic safety) and was so excellent at engaging with him in an easy, comfortable manner. He's slow to warm up and can get overstimulated with too much "pushiness" but she always met him where he was, and really got him to engage. Always play based and awesome parent coaching. My 2.5 years old daughter has trouble communicating at her daycare. Vera has Ectodermia Dysplasia. A common condition with ED is the lack of teeth, Vera with 2 years old has only a couple. On top of that, as we spoke Spanish at home, we thought that was a bilingual issue. But I realized that it was difficult to understand her at home in Spanish and English. The evaluation at UCSF was good, it wasn't severe enough. Her primary doctor agreed to do a consultation with somebody bilingual in Spanish. Dawn (Golden Speach) was the only one well qualified to work with somebody like Vera. She came home, we talked with her, she did a comprehensive evaluation and recommended a treatment every week for one hour at home. Vera loved her, she was jumping every Monday morning. They were playing and having fun doing speech exercises in Spanish and English; they played with phonics at the tablet, with board games, it was very fluid and almost never repeated the same game. Vera improved a lot, her confidence speaking was a blast, she could have friends. After fifteen months Dawn considered that she did not need more treatment. I highly recommend Dawn. She studied in one of the best Universities and transmitted clearly how and what to do, so I trusted immediately in her. The other key element, she knows how to work with kids. read more

Dawn is a wonderful speech therapist! She is kind, caring, patient, professional, and really good with kids. My son went to her to correct some speech issues he was having. In her initial evaluation, she identified the issues and explained everything to me and answered all my questions. Dawn had weekly sessions with my son for 6 months and there has definitely been great improvement in my son's speech. Even his teacher at school noticed! Dawn makes her sessions fun and interesting for the kids. I really liked that she assigned skills and sounds for my son to practice in between sessions. Leah has done an amazing job working with our speech-delayed three-year-old son for the past several months. She sees him twice a week at his preschool. She's built a warm, playful, and productive relationship with him. He loves their sessions and sometimes even prefers to stay with her after class rather than go back to his friends. He's showing weekly improvements, like including articles "the" and "a" in his speech. She experiments with various learning styles to find what works best. She had him clap out syllables for a while, and recently she's been having him point to different colors as he enunciates. When I try these techniques at home, he happily plays along! She adapts her sessions to focus on his changing needs. They've worked on connector words like "in" and "the", pronouncing /s/, /t/, and /z/ clearly, and speaking in a louder voice. She's super communicative. She sends an e-mail update after each session, sometimes with videos, and talks with us about our concerns and goals. Dawn was referred to us by our 4 yr old daughter's preschool teacher as we were getting concerned about her speech development. We wanted to have an initial evaluation done to have an idea about where she's at from a developmental standpoint and whether help/therapy is needed. When we first met Dawn, she was very personable but also very professional and knowledgable. She was very good with my daughter and was able to connect with her instantly. Through play based therapy and observations (which lasted more than two hours), Dawn was able to make a very thorough assessment of my daughter's speech and she was also very patient and thorough in going over the details of her observations with me and my husband. Even though the assessment suggests my daughter falls on the lower end of the spectrum within the normal range, Dawn was very open in discussing the various options we have and she was never insistent on starting my daughter on therapy right away. You could tell that she really cares about the well being of the child and that really shows through her interaction with my daughter and her recommendation for the parents. I really enjoyed meeting Dawn and she was just such a pleasure to work with, from the initial contact all the way to the end of our assessment session (and even afterwards). What is even more amazing is that after that initial session, my daughter's speech just suddenly improved and has been talking non-stop ever since. Even though she's only met Dawn for two hours, she would still ask me about "Teacher Dawn" from time to time. I don't know what Dawn did but she's just awesome! read more
