As two full-time working parents, reliability and communication are extremely important to us. Unfortunately, our experience with the administrative and scheduling side of this practice has been very frustrating. It took nearly three months to secure appointments for my son. The initial appointments were scheduled incorrectly, and I then had to complete additional paperwork to have them corrected, which resulted in further delays in care. Communication from the office has been inconsistent -- each time I called, I spoke with a different staff member and had to re-explain the entire situation. There was also confusion regarding appointment times, despite me notifying the office about schedule changes in advance. That said, I want to be very clear that the therapists -- particularly Ms. Nicole -- have been wonderful. She is passionate, attentive, and clearly cares deeply about her patients. The clinical care itself has been positive. It's unfortunate that the administrative side does not reflect the same level of organization and professionalism as the therapists. I truly hope the practice can improve its scheduling and communication systems, because the clinicians deserve that support. For families who have flexible schedules, this may be a good fit. However, for two working parents who need consistency and clear communication, it was not sustainable for us. read more

My daughter has been taking speech therapy here for three months now. I love the progression. I see a lot of improvement from when she started to now and it's only going to get better from here. She's also in school which is a huge plus as well. She sees Ms. Mary & Ms. Lindsey who are thorough on what they did for the day and they give me tips/lessons on what I should be working on with my daughter at home. The office is wonderful! The staff is really really nice, especially Mallory. She always greets my daughter. The office is very accommodating and understanding with my schedule. Based on a developmental pediatrician's recommendation I was looking for Speech Therapy centers for my 3 y.o. daughter and I got to know about "IICA Speech" through online searches. I got in touch with the company and Ms. Amanda Agrimonti was the first person from IICA I ever communicated with. Once I filled the new patient forms, Amanda got in touch with us in 3 business days. My daughter had two speech therapists, Ms. Rachel Wolfkill and Ms. Gina Mortensen. They both had to move on with different opportunities but they worked with my daughter for a good 9 and 11 months respectively. They were really friendly and caring. My daughter developed a beautiful bonding with them! I definitely need to mention about Ms. Eryn Arzate from the billing department who has been extremely understanding and kind with all my billing questions. She also helped schedule makeup sessions whenever my daughter had to miss classes due to sudden illnesses. Recently Ms. Kayla Des Rosier from the patient services team has been really friendly and is now helping us schedule/reschedule sessions. She's a very patient person too. I have tried a few virtual sessions and my daughter hasn't been as involved as she is in an in-person session. Since the therapists are moving around with different career goals, my daughter has always had a mix of various different therapists. They all share notes and plans. Each therapist's styles are very different. Recently, my daughter is working with Ms. Amber/Ms. Josie and they are really good too! My daughter has also been attending IICA's Occupational Therapy (OT) along with the Speech Therapies. Their OT team is also very strong. My daughter has been working with Mr. Brandon and Ms. Lisa for the past 6 months and the sessions are really helping her with basic activities. They are really good at what they do too! Overall, my experience with IICA has been wonderful and I'd definitely recommend them for Speech and Occupational Therapies for your kids. They are friendly and very supportive! Of course, there could be difficulties finding slots that work for everybody, but the team is ready to work with you! read more

My son saw Miss Anna for zoom ST sessions for about 4 months. Anna was enthusiastic and worked well with our needs. However, the part that made me change provider is the administrative staff. -I asked to change the frequency to once a week rather than twice a week as my son attends daycare full time and after a long day all he wants to do is relax and play. The admin office states that's not possible as the initial rec was twice a week, otherwise they would have to discharge my son. -We had a session that couldn't be held due to us being in a public place and another session where I just wanted parent teaching as dad and I were out on a once a year date night. The office charges a no show fee of $95 and I told them I did show up on time but my son was not present. As the parent of a 2.5 year old child, I don't understand why parent teaching is not possible. If we were having a normal session my son would just watch a video and repeat some words anyway. For the young ones, parent involvement is far more important than zoom sessions. The last draw was an email from the director of admin services stating "I will waive the fee this time, however should there be another no show a fee will be charged as well the account audited for attendance and possibly discharge." As a paying client, I don't need to be threatened with attendance audit or discharge as I can easily find another provider to work with my son. I highly recommend the administrative staff to take a communication training course so they don't lose future clients. read more

My picky eater has become an adventurous eater. Thanks to IICA speech. Their senior therapist Tayler Kina worked really hard and well with my son for more than 1.5 years and she brought a world of a difference in my son's eating habits. He was very reluctant to trying new things and would only eat a handful of things. We started in December 2020 and continued till August 2022. He is now open to experimenting with food and enjoys a variety on his plate. Highly recommend the practice. read more

My son has been coming here since or about Fall 2018 and he is still receiving services. Since the start, he has had about 3-4 STs and his current ST, Taylor, is by far the most effective with him. He has made so much progress from just uttering a couple of words to now speaking 3-4 word phrases though his articulation still needs work. After every session, Taylor touch bases with us on how the session went as far as my son's behavior if any, his cooperation, tasks worked on and progress. Although it's only a 30 minutes weekly session, I feel that he would've not made this progress if it was elsewhere. All the STs are personable and professional. DJ at the front is also wonderful. She's very friendly and sociable. Appointments are reminded weekly via emails and texts. Plenty of parking and close to near by eateries if you wanna drop your child off and run for a coffee at Peets. Overall, great service! read more

My son has been going to speech for about two years now. When it was in person, he really enjoyed going and the therapists were very nurturing and engaging as he is quite an energetic kid. Now that everything is virtual, the therapists have adapted well and keep to the same schedule well. My son is already used to zoom classes, so the change was not hard here. They use fun material to keep the kids engaged while monitoring issues your kid may be having. If you have a little one, I highly recommend this place and to start early so your child can address these things when they are young and can more successful as they grow up. read more

Now for the con, we literally cancelled Wednesday night for a Friday morning session but because it wasn't exactly 48hrs they were not able to cancel our appointment. We are fortunate to find IICA to do occupation therapy and speech therapy for my son. We work with Lisa and Atieh for occupation therapy and Mary and Josie for speech therapy. They are all very nice and professional and I can definitely see the progress for my son for various goals that is set to improve. In addition to the therapists, Kayla helped us on all the appointment reschedule, and Eryn helps us on all the billing questions. We are not happy with seeing different therapists. They are not allowing us to see the same speech therapist twice a week although therapist is available. Therapies are not being efficient. There are so many therapist with no patients. I guess this is why they are not allowing to see the same therapist twice a week. I am so frustrated. read more

My son Rafael started speech therapy IICA with Celia in March 2021 when he was almost 2 1/2. I wondered how they could keep a 2 year-old's attention on Zoom but WOW, our first class with Celia couldn't have been more impressive. She played with cars on a green screen while narrating what she was doing. My son cried when the video call was over. Then we started 2 sessions a week, one with Celia and the other with Ian. Were we that lucky to get 2 excellent therapists or are all the therapists here this good? Ian used really fun toys in our sessions as he narrated what he was doing and would offer Rafael to fill in the blanks. Ian kept his attention on zoom, made it fun and enriching and got him to participate and says words. Ian is so good-natured, patient and friendly. I highly recommend him! We miss him! We used IICA for the 20 sessions my insurance covered and now SARC is covering my son's sessions at a different place. The method used by Ian and Celia at IICA far exceeds other methods I've seen at the current place I'm at and at another one I tried previously. read more

Our son was speech delayed (only using 1 to 2 words, rarely more). After their full evaluation (in 1hr) they identified 2 areas of delay. When I read the full review I felt they had nailed his speech delay issues. It made sense and matched what we observed at home. BTW, we later had full evaluation by Standford Children's Health and they agreed with IICA evaluation; added 3rd area - one that could not have been caught if not for the improvements he had already realized at IICA as he was starting to use 3-4 words by SCH evaluation). After only 3 months (going twice per week for 25min) our son was able to speak 5 to 6 word sentences and had vastly improved in his speech. My wife and I took turns observing (when we could) and practiced the sessions as best we could every night). Our son saw both Olivia and Shareen. He would always look forward to seeing them and thoroughly enjoyed every session with them. I would not necessarily expect that rate of improvement for all children (every child is different) just stating facts here. I will say that I think it's critical to observe occasionally and practice every day for 15-20min at home. Our son is high functioning ASD (we confirmed this 2 months in) and had no physical or articulation limitations (he mostly didn't use verbs or full sentences or have good social communication skills). Unfortunately, after 3 months we have to change Speech providers due to change in our Insurance plan. However, we're very very pleased with the the progress IICA made with our son and feel much more confident that he will catch-up now and be successful in K-5 now. Hopefully the next provider will be as good for us. I've read the negative reviews and they all seem to be around $$ rather than services. We cancelled 1 appt in 3 months 23hrs in advance (and we gave them heads up we might need to cancel 45hrs in advance) and had no issues. Not a big fan of fee they charge to get their written notes, seems excessive to me, so I never opted for those notes. I also found the excessive amount of paper work to be excessive (ie redundant, get it?).... yet that's sort of the norm. All that said, I found front desk DJ and others, to be exceeding helpful, polite, and friendly. I have never had a bad experience or interaction with anyone at IICA. read more

IICA was great a year back when we started, especially therapists like Ian Nool. But with so many new children joining, their performance has gone significantly downhill. Speech therapists have zero enthusiasm, and simply watch the clock to finish and get their payments. Huge waste of time, and zero benefit for the children. Our son did not learn a word while he was there, not because he could not, but because IICA is totally incapable and is a big waste of time. read more

We've seen Teacher Allison and Teacher Taylor for approx 1yr (twice a week). They are wonderful teaching my son communication skills (verbal and sign language) with regular improvements. My son, for the first time, clearly communicated why he was crying; "ear hurt". It seems like such a small accomplishment; however, we were able to get treatment for his ear infection and stop the suffering. HUGE! read more

Our son has had great experience with Ms. Taylor. We've had speech therapy sessions twice a week for almost a year. The kid showed significant progress during those sessions. Ms Taylor was able to connect with the kid (even though he does not speak English) and make sessions both fun and developmental. She is very professional, experienced and knowledgeable. My son loved coming there and we as parents were given a lot of information about his progress, challenges and opportunities. My son has been going here for a while and his speech has improved a lot. At first he cried but they made it fun and established a good relationship. They always wore clear mask so he could see the movement of the lips. Now he loves speech because he knows they are helping him speak better so he can make friends and his family can understand him better. He wants friends so bad at school. He is in Kindergarten and has not found his people yet. He is hard to understand though I think he is doing a lot better. We started with the same two girls each once a week. They worked with certain blend sounds and finishing the words. We are very happy and they have gone out of their way to make going their as easy as possible. read more

They have a very aggressive payment collection policy, even if your insurance is in-network and you have met the deductible or not met the deductible they insist to pay the co-insurance upfront which is in general not mandatory, its not like a co-pay where one has to pay up-front mandatorily, they should give the option to the client if they want to wait till insurance pays and then send the patient the bill. In my case,I met my deductible and they haven't checked that part and continued to insist to pay co-insurance on every visit upfront and I ended up over-paying which is then I realized how aggressive their payment collection is, their refunds, prompt follow-ups on offering service, checking authorization before providing service etc.,also should be aggressive as-well(which they are NOT in my case) if they intend to continue their aggressive collection policy. If you are someone who doesn't like to be bothered to pay on every visit and rather wait for insurance to process and send the bill or like to pay at once after you get your paycheck I wouldn't recommend this place. Our daughter has been going to Integrated Intervention for speech therapy for more than 2 years. I think this is a very good place for my kid, and the reasons are below. 1. Our daughter has a short attention span, and always running around. But during the session, her therapist Brandi can still maintain the control make it a structured learning experience. 2. Even with the structured session, which my daughter usually doesn't preferred, she is still very excited to attend the session every single time. 3. Integrated Intervention is very nice, facility and personality wise. I took my daughter here for several months. The teacher, Natalie, and everyone there were super nice and knowledgeable.
